Really figured repeat business would matter. It obviously didn’t. My first case we came to agreement on terms and I felt really good about the case. I feel he did a solid job representing me. Especially since my actions made the case more difficult. On the second one I assumed I would get the same type of treatment but instead got charged considerably more just to retain Mr Eaker. It was my mistake as I didn’t read the second contracts, I trusted him since these cases were so close together. As in both cases were going on at the same time. The second one just started halfway through the first. I just handed him my card without looking at the contracts and moved forward. All of a sudden, after I start questioning why I was charged so much more and wanted to understand, I am told that the first case I received a special price even though this was never explained to me. Now, after all this, I receive an email the day before thanksgiving stating he was no longer willing to be my attorney because he didn’t believe I would be able to pay for the services. I responded back 5 mins after that email was sent and I get a response that the office is closed for the next 10 days. Dropping me and then sending me to an auto responder to worry about it with my kids for the next 10 days. After that, I still sent several emails to him stating I have the money to move forward as I didn’t want to have to find another attorney and start the whole process over, and I never received one response. Not one, nothing. It really made me feel that my children weren’t important and that he’d rather take the money he already had and move forward since he already had a large retainer and didn’t have to do a lot of work for that retainer. However, that is only an assumption. I never received any communication to help me feel differently. Extremely disheartening

In the beginning he took extended periods of time to explain the process, the laws, and the options that I had. At the same time, David made an exceptional effort to understand the way I thought and felt about what was happening so he could tailor his thinking to mine. In doing so, he balanced my black and white logic with thoughtful insight and a councilor-type role. As we moved through the process, we met to discuss upcoming events or next steps, and again David thoroughly explained everything and answered more than my fair share of questions. As is the case in stressful situations, we didn’t always agree at the start of discussions but we talked and debated until we reached a consensus. If you are reading these reviews, I can only assume that you are early in the divorce process. I highly recommend David Eaker to get you through it in the best possible way. David Doesn't Do Drama. Plain and simple. He is great at keeping you (his client) focused on the goal even as you may struggle as attempts are made to distract and harm. David has "been through this before" and he effectively applies this experience. He doesn't lie to you - even when the truth is not what you want to hear. Most importantly, he truly cares about his clients and their families.

David is excellent with regard to keeping you, as the client, focused on the goals and not getting drawn into drama. He's been down the road enough times to understand what requires attention versus issues that are peripheral. When I first went to him for assistance, I was unsure whether I even wanted to file for divorce. His advice: when you aren't sure, speak with someone. And he referred me to a great counselor. Getting my business was not David's priority; I, the person, was David's priority because he knew that a hesitant client wasn't going to work for anyone. THAT is the level of experience for which you hire him.
