I honestly don’t even know where to begin, Seth Lasater has been our attorney for going on 2 years and I will highly recommend him to anyone. We have had several different cases ranging from child custody to criminal where Seth has represented us, and I will have to say I do not have ONE single regret nor complaint about him. During all of our cases he has done all he can to make sure all bases are covered and takes the time to do any research that is needed. He is very knowledgeable about everyone of our cases and gives his legal opinion and recommendations on the best route to take on the case but will leave that final decision up to you if need be so that way you don’t feel pressured into having to go his route if you don’t feel confident in his decision and will take your opinions in consideration on anything you ask or think of but he gives you his insights and what the outcomes could be on each. I highly recommend Seth to anyone. When I say he does his research laws change all the time and not every case is the same they can be in the same category however be different incidents so yes research is needed to be 100% confident and successful and that would be for any attorney. However Seth makes sure you fully understand the circumstances and the possible outcomes of everything so you aren’t shocked if it doesn’t go as planned. You always hope for the best but it’s not always what you want and again that’s with any attorney, none of them can 100% guarantee you what the judges decision will
be. Seth is very knowledgeable of all the judges and can predict 90% of the time which route that judge will probably take but again does not guarantee anything. With that being said you know he is and has to be an amazing attorney for someone to keep the same one for so long if one is needed that long, that should be an eye opener there that we honestly can’t complain and honestly wouldn’t choose any other attorney. Seth will do everything in his legal power to make sure you get the desired outcome and will go completely at bat for you and defend you in every way possible and will listen and take in your thoughts and concerns regarding your case and give you any and all advice he can. Also with all this positivity and confidence in him being said isn’t because his fees are cheap of why I am writing this review because one his fees are pretty much average fees for an attorney there isn’t a shock to his fees due to his fees are straight across the board as pretty much any other attorney you will find and two I’m not being positive because he wanted me to be, this is all the 100% truth and coming from the heart. He is an amazing attorney and I promise you and I can guarantee you he will defend you 100% and do everything he has to do to make sure there isn’t any confusion along the way. He is very compassionate and easy to get in touch with and if he is out of the office he will get back with you in a timely manner. Lastly not to get too personal but it is public Seth lost his father a few weeks before one of our court dates and he still kept up with our court date and went at bat for us at court knowing what stress he had on him of losing a parent he still was very considerate of our case and we did get what we expected which is always a plus. So again I did this review because Seth deserves it and there isn’t enough words or reviews that I could say or leave that would amount to all the hard work and knowledge and help this man/attorney has done for our cases/family. I promise you will not be disappointed and regretful of choosing Seth Lasater as an attorney for divorce, child custody, criminal, family matters and etc. He does practice in a few more different types of cases but that is what we have had him for thus far. Hopefully not anymore cases but life happens. Again you will absolutely love him. Please if you are going through any of the above or any other types of cases he takes please don’t hesitate to give his office a call and ask for a consultation with Seth.

I needed an estate attorney for my 90+ year old parents to update Wills, prepare a Living Trust, and prepare Powers of Attorney, Healthcare POA's, Living Wills and Deed changes for the Trust. After interviewing 7 Knoxville attorneys/law firms, I settled on Stephen Carpenter at Carpenter & Lewis. He had fixed pricing (very reasonable for an entire Estate Package) and was impressive and personable on the phone.
We have now completed the process and we could NOT be happier with the result. My parents were so complimentary of the very process that they were dreading. Stephen is HIGHLY knowledgeable, tax and estate savvy, detail oriented and is so very down to earth, professional and responsive. His documents were amazing and needed very few changes. He is an avid listener and translated our unique needs into legal language so very well. He was great in explaining everything and answered all our questions in terms we could all understand. The process was painless!
I did my own estate documents 10 years ago in another state using a large, high powered law firm -- Believe me -- Stephen's process was 10 TIMES better - and a lot less expensive. Stephen knows how to do this and how to guide you through it VERY WELL! Also, Lorie, his assistant, was a joy to work with, so pleasant and service oriented.
I do NOT do reviews of things on the web...but, after using Carpenter & Lewis' services, I wanted all of you who are looking to do estate planning to know -- YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG WITH THEM!!!! So, do yourself a favor...if you want a great outcome, if you want super value for your money, if you want to deal with very pleasant, personable and responsive people who are experts and pros at what they do -- use Stephen Carpenter at Carpenter & Lewis. It's not a large law firm...it's a small, highly effective, service oriented group. Like many other families, we were faced with decisions that we really didn’t think we would need to make… my Dad’s dementia was deepening and my Mom, his Caretaker, was beginning to rapidly fail herself.
It came to the point I knew my Dad needed more care than what my Mom was capable of providing. It needed to be done quickly and correctly. Frankly, I was worried my Mom would pass before my Dad.
My parents are retired school-teachers. That means they are not rich, but they do have income. It certainly means they do not have the money for Nursing Home care that my Dad needs, and for that matter, my Mom needed for him to have.
I knew that trying to do the paper work and application for Medicaid was far beyond my ability and know-how. I recognized at that point we needed an Attorney to handle this for us.
I looked for a nearby attorney and found Richard Shea. This was one of the best decisions made in this difficult junction of our lives.
Richard reviewed everything carefully…. He answered questions timely… He worked as a partner with our family.
We are so grateful we hired him…it turns out that one of the accounts my mom had saved money through her job, would have been at risk if we had made the application first. Richard identified the situation and made suggestions on how to restructure it, which we did. While the amounts would not seem large to most people with an IRA or Pension, it was huge for my mom, and meant a lot to her monthly income. This one detail, more than paid for Richard’s fee.
My Dad is in a great facility. My Mom is able to relax and reclaim part of her life because she doesn’t have the heavy burden of caring for my father any longer. She can sleep at night and not have to worry if my Dad was going to get out of bed and turn on the stove and burn the house down! (He actually came close one time.) She is actually getting healthier. During her last check-up, her doctor told her he was pleased with her resurgent health.
I cannot recommend Richard enough. He is well worth his fee since he will fill out the paperwork and handle the application process and deal with the questions from the Examiner. These are details that are nerve racking enough, let alone during a stressful time.
If you are faced with these decisions, I recommend you hire Richard to handle the details. You have enough stress as it is, let him handle the part you that you are not an expert in handling. You will feel a lot better that you did.

After a death, the last thing you want to do is worry about someone liquidating your fathers assets. This is what my sisters and I had to face a week after burying our dad. Due to him not having a will things where really complicated and his wife tried to take advantage of the situation. A family friend referred us to Bill and he has been a breath of fresh air throughout this entire process. Her attorney has been procrastinating the entire time and Bill has been on him like white on rice! Bill is very much to the point- no BS so if you want to be coddled then this one isn't for you. But, if you want the facts and someone that is going to give it to you straight while fighting for what's right then Bill is your guy. I highly recommend his team to anyone going through probate or a family settlement agreement. He's expensive but well worth the money I promise!

Alejandro Vera is a great Estate Lawyer and Bilingual. I was looking for a Spanish speaking lawyer as my mother only speaks Spanish. After speaking to Alejandro over the phone I hired him. After my mother passed away I needed to sell her home in Kona, and I have never bought or sold a home before - it was all new to me.
I live on the mainland, and Donna was recommended by a family friend in Kona. I spoke to her on the phone and was very impressed by her knowledge of real estate law, her professionalism, and her communication skills. We got good advice from Donna (disclosure list, etc.).
We also had her look over anything we were given, by the realtor or the escrow company, to sign. She said the forms looked pretty standard, but there were a few things she had us change - she had our best interest at heart. My husband and I agreed that paying for an attorney look things over was well worth it for our peace of mind, and fortunately Donna’s rates were very reasonable.
After escrow closed we asked Donna to apply for the HARPTA refund, and about six months later we got the entire amount!

Bob was referred to me by a dear trusted friend. I purchased a commercial property in 2013 along with 3 other individuals. Those 3 individuals were related to each other, not to me. 3 years later 2 of the 3 individuals approached me about selling my interest to them for $30,000. We had each invested $25,000. I declined their offers. Little did I know my 3 partners had already consulted with realtors, it turned out the property had over a half a million dollars in equity on an initial $100,000 joint investment. I found out months later the property was in escrow and I was never consulted or advised of the sale. These two brothers and their father intended to keep my initial investment and my more than $100,000 profit. You see one of the brothers is an attorney who thinks he is always the smartest guy in the room. It turns out that "Dim Bulb" attorney was no match for Bob Bright. Bob's last name is an incredible accurate adjective for who he is. Bob had 4 business days to effectively secure a temporary restraining order on escrow from the civil court. Escrow closed as scheduled all of the liens and third parties were satisfied and over a half a million dollars remained in the possession of the court. Litigation went on for an entire year. Bob was 10 steps ahead of my conspiring ex-partners at every stage. Bob's research on case law was amazing. My ex-partner, the attorney, was completely out matched. Bob ultimately negotiated a settlement prior to trial. I am not allowed to disclose the terms of the settlement. What I can disclose is that after Bob's fees were paid, my proceeds were far beyond what I would have received had my partners included me in the sale proceedings and not tried to abscond my investment and profit. The bad news is that my ex-partner the attorney will get to keep his law license for now. Bob Bright is beyond honest and he is always accessible.
