I consulted several lawyers in my area to inquire on what I needed to do after the unfortunate passing of my Wife. Mr. Vicknair was by far the best out of them all and was chosen to represent me. He informed me of what needed to be done, how long it would take, and what it would cost. All my questions were answered with great detail and patience. He is very confident and knowledgeable and the price's were very fair compared to the other quotes I was getting. Everything went very smoothly and without any problems. Mr. Vicknair did such a good job with my Wife's Estate that I also decided to retain him for my Last Will and Testament which included a Power of Attorney, and Health Power of Attorney. Just like the first time, everything went very smoothly and without any problems. I felt very safe dealing with Mr. Vicknair.

My sibling misused a power of attorney to prematurely take control of my father's life and put him in a nursing home two hours away from his home. Luckily for my father, Ted was the first attorney called to help my father. Ted pushed back on the nursing home's refusal to let him meet with my father. Ted drove 30 miles to bring my father a new durable power of attorney and healthcare power of attorney to sign. Ted doing that put my father back in control of his life and got him back home within a week. Throughout the whole process, Ted answered all of the questions my father and I had about the powers of attorney. He explained every part of the powers of attorney to my father when he met with him and even answered the questions my cousins asked as witnesses. Ted is very good and patient at listening to what you want and then explaining complex legal concepts while going over all of your options. My father likes and trusts Ted so much, that he had Ted create two trusts and a new will. My father was more than happy to drive four hours round trip on two different occasions to meet with Ted to sign documents. That's how much my father likes and trusts Ted. My father wanted things in the trusts that aren't allowed by law. Ted did a great job of explaining to my father that the law didn't allow some of the things my father wanted, but Ted did research to come up with legally allowed solutions to achieve nearly the same thing my father wanted. Ted worked really hard and patiently to give my father everything he wanted. Ted treated my father and me with with respect, honesty, patience and compassion while giving us great legal advise and services. He's a great attorney and an even better person.

We retained Mr. Vicknair to help us with updating our wills, which due to some unusual circumstances was a very complex process. He provided us with excellent advice and was very patient in answering all of our questions. He even provided us with new Powers of Attorney as a part of the update. We highly recommend Mr. Vicknair and would not hesitate to retain him again.

I utilized Karl on two occasions. The first was to update my elderly Mother's will and the second was to update my will and create a Power of Attorney for both me and my Wife. On both occasions (10 years apart) he provided great expertise along with appropriate questions to ensure he knew what we wanted to accomplish and we knew the ramifications of the requests we made. He also willingly answered follow up questions over the phone. I would hire him again without hesitation and refer him to anyone needing a good Estate Attorney.

I contacted Karl after seeing his Avvo profile as I had some trust- related questions. He spent 15 minutes patiently answering my questions and explaining things to me. At the end of the call, I asked him if he needed to charge me for giving me his legal advice. He said no need, too much trouble he said! What a nice guy! He said if I ever needed to hire an attorney, give him a call. You bet Karl. Thanks a lot. Much appreciated!

My father passed away and I was chosen as the estate rep. My parents had used Karl before so I called him. It was a pretty difficult time for me and was very unsure of what to do. After my meeting with Karl I was very relieved to have found him. Flash forward one year and I'm done with the estate and Karl has been there with me the whole time. He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed. Karl is also very down to earth and personable. He strikes me as a genuinely caring person at work and I'll have to assume off work too. I would go out of my way to recommend Karl to anyone willing to listen.

When my brother died without a will, I was faced with settling his very complicated estate. After reading many resumes and reviews of probate attorneys from many firms, I wrote down several names and prayed to be directed to the right one. That turned out to be April Wise. Great choice! April is a likable and easy to talk to person. She is a good listener and put this anxious, older client at ease. But, most importantly, April is a knowledgeable attorney with a sharp legal mind who is very thorough in her work. She always knows exactly what to do no matter what comes up. Along the way, she breaks down the whole process nicely for you so that you can understand all the necessary probate steps and legal time frames. Her legal secretary, Terry Hunter, is very helpful, also. I’m so thankful I was led to this wonderful attorney!

I live in Montgomery and called April for help will a will dispute. After talking to her briefly I was sure she would be an excellent choice. To my surprise when she found out the dispute was in Jefferson county she recommended another attorney who practiced in Jefferson county. She felt he would know the area judges better and be more suited for the job. I subsequently retained the attorney she recommended. She didn't make a dime and took the time and effort to help me. That's integrity, a rare commodity these days! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Joellen took me on as client to assist me in getting paternity and custody of my 2 year old son. She is an excellent listener and give advice, even if it is not what you want to hear. She does an amazing job in front of the judge in the sense that she gets your case seen in a light that helps make things turn out the best for you. Joellen was patient with me and handled my times of emotional distress professionally and she has a way of making the light at the end of the tunnel much brighter! Before I was referred to Magen, I had consulted more than four lawyers to review my husband immigration case. All of them brushed me off, or quote me an outrageous amount of money because they consider the case to be extremely difficult if not impossible. Alan was involved for nine months in my real estate dispute which took over two years to conclude. He joined with his partner Michelle Hurvitz who had been leading the case since it began. Because of Covid I was not able to meet Alan in person, but it really didn't matter. His dedication and compassion were readily apparent by phone and zoom, and I immediately trusted his integrity and outstanding legal skills and judgement. He worked smoothly with Michelle to move my case to a successful verdict (We won!). They communicate openly and honestly and hone each other's thinking. My mom has early/mid stage dementia and I wanted to get Durable Power of Attorney documents in place since my dad is ill and could pass at any time. Tassma and a paralegal (Shirley) met with us and very efficiently got these documents lined up and signed. They also suggested we do a Living Will and HIPAA document, which we did. Not only was this a pretty quick process (and very reasonably priced) but I also greatly appreciated the patience and empathy Tassma and Shirley showed in their interactions with my mom. For additional estate planning needs I will have no hesitation in going to Tassma for these. Highly recommended.

My father's health was failing quickly, and he did not have his legal paperwork in order. He was extremely worried about my mom, as his will was completed. Tassma Powers unselfishly visited the hospital very late one night to complete legal paperwork which eased his mind before his passing. In addition, Tassma took care of my mother's will as well to ensure she was taken care of after my dad's passing. I was recently referred to Rudy by another Houston lawyer to represent me in a will contest case because of his expertise in probate. I found him to be very professional, knowledgable and thorough. John assisted us with creating a comprehensive estate plan for our family to include wills, powers of attorney, and additional documents required for our situation. We did not have a prior plan. John proved knowledgeable, diligent, and patient in helping us to think through our situation and then draft the appropriate documents. In addition, we have consulted John on a couple other occasions. He is thoughtful with his advice and, when outside his area of expertise, resourceful in referring us to his strong network of fellow attorneys. We trust John and will continue to seek his advice.

I was referred to Paul by my financial planner to revise my will. I met with him today, and came away with so much more information than I was exposed to by the atty that helped me with my original will. His knowledge of estate taxes, estate planning and his ability to break that down for my specific needs was efficiently presented in layman’s terms. I will highly recommend him.

We had the great opportunity to work with Paul to help us with our wills since we are now living in Tennessee. Paul walked us through the process, gave us options to consider and always gave us scenarios which we didn't think of as we were preparing our wills and Power of Attorney documents. I was very impressed with his thoroughness, follow-up and then the execution of our documents. I would go back to Paul for any additional work or consultation that I may need in the future. We have a very blended family. We have 8 children with 2 different mothers and 4 different fathers. We wanted to ensure the children were all taken care of and at the same time preclude any potential conflicts between the children relative to our estate. We also wanted our final wishes to be crystal clear so that the children would not have to struggle with guessing what we would want. Ms. Hunter walked us through every detailed aspect of the complex estate planning process. Amanda identified to us different options for various circumstances, and made sure that every eventuality was addressed. It was a very through process that cause my wife and I to consider many things we would not have otherwise. And, through all of this, everything was explained in clear and plain English and at no time did we appear rushed.
