I was sued by a business because I wrote a yelp review that they believed was defamatory. It was the first time I had ever been involved in any legal problems at all. I was referred to Steven by the Fairfax County legal referral service, and I feel extremely lucky that that happened. tl;dr we won based on DC's anti-SLAPP legislation. We crushed them in court and I got a massive settlement. Stephen was very cool headed and thoughtful throughout the entire process, even though I was kind of a spazz at times. His advice was just what I needed to hear at every step of the way. He never tried to sugarcoat anything. I found the whole team to be honest, respectful of my time, and respectful of the process as a whole. It may seem like a small thing, but the filings were impeccable, and I think that helped greatly in the end. I cannot recommend this firm enough.

What do you think when you hear "lawyers"? Yeah me too- greedy, overpaid crooks who get paid ridiculous amounts of money to put in minimal effort for an outcome they cannot even guarantee. Well, I can't say that my general opinion of all lawyers has changed because of my one amazingly positive experience with Steven Krieger, but I will say that I've never been so surprised and happy to be wrong. I had gotten a property manager to manage my condo, which had an existing tenant who had always struggled to pay on time but faithfully paid every month for a year and a half. Within less than 4 months, the terrible property manager had brought the situation to this: possible eviction, a court date, and two months of unpaid rent while the tenant was still living in my condo. I was overseas, had never had an issue like this before, and didn't know what to do. This is exceptionally difficult for someone like me, who trusts rarely and doesn't like being unsure or out of control. The court date was set and looming,and i didn't want the manager representing me in court (he had already proven unreliable for everything), but i didn't have any personal recommendations for good lawyers, so I had to do the dreaded cold-calling of people in a profession i don't trust to help me. I HATE DOING THIS. I'm a research freak and very detail-oriented so this process takes FOREVER. Steven Krieger Law has nothing but 5 star ratings, but how am i to know it's not just a bunch of his friends or people he paid off. His website motto says: practical solutions, honest advice, for everyone. OK that's what all lawyers want you to believe. So I still called him assuming the worst. But in this case, i am happy to report i was wrong and he made me believe his motto and stellar ratings over the course of several emails and phone calls that he didn't even charge me for (most lawyers seem to believe that 10 minutes of their time should cost $50 before i even know who i'm talking to. I'd rather give $50 bucks to 6 random people in an hour and do more good for the world). Lucky for me, Steven was one of the first lawyers i called...and became both the last one i called for this situation and the first one i will call again if i need a lawyer in any of the following fields: Consumer Protection Law, Family Law, H-1B Visas, Landlord & Tenant, Online Defamation & Fraud, Small Business, and Zoning matters. Actually i'd probably just call him first for any lawyer-necessary matters just to get an honest opinion. P.S. he never pressured me, and actually ended up recommending that i privately work my issue out with the tenant, effectively talking himself out of a job. P.P.S. I do not know Steven personally, i have not been paid off or gotten any discounts, and i have nothing personally to gain form writing this review. I also rarely write reviews for anything, but i felt such sincere gratitude for his help that this was the least i could do.

I am a landlord and owner of a residential property in Alexandria. I was seeking to evict one of my tenants who was way behind on his rent. I thought I could handle the eviction process myself without hiring a lawyer...seemed like a straightforward process and an open and shut case. However, due to a legal technicality, I lost the case at trial. I hired Steven to represent me at my appeal and I won a judgment that I otherwise would not have received. I should have hired Steven from the beginning! Worth the time, money and peace of mind. Don't try and handle eviction by yourself!

Steven was great to work with! I interviewed at least 5 other lawyers prior to speaking with Steven. I was looking for a lawyer to help me write a client contract for my new small business and Steven did such a great job. He never once made me feel rushed or that he didn't have time to answer all of my questions. Steven also patiently explained everything to me in layman terms and offered many great suggestions on how to make both the contract and parts of my business plan better! He was so easy to work with - returned everything back to me very quickly! I simply can't recommend Steven enough - if you need a lawyer that is easy to work with, patient, and responsive, he's the one! I will definitely be using Steven Krueger Law again for my small business needs.

First Steven was very easy to get in touch with. By phone and email. He was very responsive to my needs and concerns in a timely fashion. Second he helped me gain a lot more time with my children. We did not need to go to court. His rates were reasonable.

Steven is the real deal. He is extremely knowledge and moved quickly to get us a judgement when we had a tenant that refused to pay rent. He also helped rectify an issue when our property manager dropped the ball during the eviction process. I can't recommend him enough!

For personal reasons I don’t like writing reviews. But I must write this about Mr. Steven Krieger, the attorney who – in my case – turned the hunter into the hunted. He is a confident, gentlemanly, calm and collected, professional. Say he is a five-star counsel. Since the time that I talked with him on phone about my cases – divorce and more – he has been constant with advice and eventual representation in court. He had a difficult opposing attorney and client negotiate rather than face him before a judge! If you have a spouse who throws their weight around to make you feel small and irrelevant, Mr. Steven Krieger is your attorney. If you have a spouse who threatens you with a myriad of court cases just to frustrate you, Mr. Steven Krieger is your attorney. If your spouse has a tendency of coming up with wild, fictional claims that sound real and bad enough to embarrass you, Mr. Steven Krieger is your attorney. He will stop them in their tracks! At least he did in my case. With his respectable demeanor and the mien that speaks volumes about his knowledge of matters law, he helped me carry the day. I don’t k now about you, but as long as this counsel is practicing, I will never gamble with my representation in court. MD

Just needed a quick call to review a tenant-landlord/roommate issue. He was knowledgeable, clear, and cheerful about helping me understand the issues and giving me next steps to take to ensure I was covered. Highly, highly recommend him.

Steven to the rescue. My tenant stopped paying me rent for 3 months and I needed to act. I found state laws in Virginia (or administrative/legal processes) did not make this an easy task. I needed professional legal representation and Steven provided the help I needed promptly. He was upfront about the process and the fees. I won judgement from a tenant who knew how to game the system. I highly recommend Steven Krieger!

#TLDR - Good experience, don't want to have to hire a lawyer again, but if I do I'm hiring Steven. I first contacted Mr. Krieger for advice and he gave a free consultation, which I acted on based on MY misunderstanding of the law. Doing what I should have done in the first place, I hired Mr. Krieger. He explored various means of presenting my case (eviction of guests who thought they were tenants) and we chose the best, if not optimal solution. My preferred solution was an immediate defenestration of the ruffians and Mr. Krieger offered a better than even chance that we would prevail. Nearing the end of my tether I wanted zero chance of losing the argument, I wanted a hard and fast date by which I could bid these ne'er-do-wells goodbye. Mr. Krieger, after negotiations with the defendents, secured a legally binding promise to vacate my premises by a not-too-distant date. They have no recourse or excuse thereafter, to remain on my property, under force of law. I'm not one for instant gratification, no matter the circumstances. This is a satisfactory and satisfying resolution to a five month long problem. Satisfying particularly in that I know the defendants have no place to live in less than three weeks, just like they had no place to live before I took them in over two years ago. Thanks Steven.
