Earlier this year, I faced an unusual situation with my business landlord regarding an issue with the terms of my lease. At the time, I faced eviction because my landlord failed to meet specific lease terms required for me to begin rent payments. What they failed to realize, however, was that they (and not I) were in breach of our lease terms. Nevertheless, my landlord filed suit for nonpayment, putting me on the path to Ms. Thomas for competent legal advice and assistance. Given that my case involved complex commercial lease terms and unusual circumstances surrounding those terms, I needed an attorney who was not only experienced but who had exceptional negotiating and legal research skills to identify a precedent for my particular case. Ms. Thomas did not disappoint in the least. She immediately met with me and agreed with me about filing a countersuit against my landlord. From there, Ms. Thomas worked quickly to file my countersuit and begin communicating with opposing counsel. Initially, my landlord was highly resistant to negotiations and insisted on taking the case to trial. But after Ms. Thomas completed her legal research and presented them with specific facts and a precedent to support our position, they became more reasonable. Seven months later, after considerable time and effort, Ms. Thomas successfully worked with my landlord to reach a fair and favorable settlement on my behalf. Throughout the process, Ms. Thomas was professional, patient, and always extremely honest with me. And although she never sugar-coated the possibilities regarding the potential resolution of my circumstances, she always sought the best outcome for me. I am thankful that I found Ms. Thomas for my legal situation. She is bright and remarkably adept at dissecting complex legal circumstances to lead you toward a winning conclusion.
