Beth Ufkes handled the incident I was involved in exactly how anyone would expect the process to go. I was hit by a drunk driver and my car got totaled with some physical injuries. I was falsely accused of an assault and battery charge under Virginia law (18.2-57), which carries a maximum sentence of confinement in jail for up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500. Even though the charges were false and malicious, I had to answer to the charges in Virginia when I discovered that a warrant had been issued for my arrest. That's when I turned to Mr. Swartz for help. Mr. Swartz provided me with invaluable guidance and support, working tirelessly to protect my rights and freedom. As an out-of-state defendant facing assault and battery charges in Virginia, I was not familiar with the legal process in the state.
