I was pointed to Jeff as a small business resource in Virginia. He was able to quickly assist me in creating an operating agreement for a multi-member LLC. He generously spent extra time explaining new business and legal concepts to me so I understood my documents. Would definitely recommend to other new and small businesses in the area!

In the beginning I left a stellar review mostly because of the paralegal Emily who really helped bring the parties together from a long contentious divorce. The end was not so satisfying, they were not qualified to handle opposing counsel and they ran with it to increase billing hours. In the end, before I let them go they provided me with an attorney fresh out of law school to go up against a senior partner. It was a slap in the face. They have no foresight, only billing hours.

I can't say enough good things about Erica Hawkins. She exceeded my expectations and she helped me at one of my lowest points in my life. Not only was she professional and timely she was understanding and compassionate. In my experience it is hard to find all of those qualities in one attorney. I appreciate everything she has done for me. She really helped get my life back together and that is priceless to me. You don’t know an exceptional attorney until you’ve been represented by a bad or mediocre one. I am forever indebted to Eric Brandon Schell. I was previously working with a firm who had glowing reviews. This attorney had won various prestigious awards – however, my case was mismanaged, I had more questions and uncertainties after each convo with her, I never felt at ease, and she was billing me for everything, yet nothing ever seemed to get done. I was terrified to switch law firms as I would be going from “the best” to the unknown. I had no choice but to start my search for a new firm and found, Melone Hatley. During my initial consultation with Eric, he eased my frustrations and developed a plan to win my case…And he did just that…. he won. When choosing your attorney, you are allotted about 30 - 45 minutes for a consultation before they remind you, your time is up. I’m not sure if Eric could tell I was anxious, but he exceeded his time to ensure I had a clear understanding of our meeting. And then he said, “I won’t be upset if you don’t choose me, I just want you to feel comfortable.” His compassion is what sealed it for me, amongst other things. 1. He got to know me as a person and as a mother; I never felt like a check. 2. Through our conversations, he got to know my ex-husband and his downfalls to best serve me. There are some attorneys, you question where their loyalties lie, with you or your opponent. I never questioned Eric’s allegiance. 3. He provided updates and kept me informed frequently, leaving zero room for panic. 4. He was honest. 5. He was patient. 6. He provided options in spaces I thought was limited. 7. There were never any surprises as he created a very peaceful and controlled space. 8. He talked to me in layman’s terms, not that legal jargon. 9. He was a sincere human. When I didn’t understand or was clearly upset, he would ask if he could call me so he could better explain, and I understand. He was funny and provided humor – he made a scary situation less daunting. He never dropped the ball. He understood the assignment. 10. He won my case. Working with him, I never had to question. I have recommended him to 3 of my friends/ family going through a divorce/ custody case. If you ever need an attorney, I honestly don’t think you could find a better one. He deserves all the praise.
