Our mom had been in a long term Alzheimer's care facility where the quality of care had severely diminished bordering on neglect. We were in a difficult, protracted, and confusing contract dispute with the company after removing her before the contract expired. From the beginning Derek let us know what to expect, how to proceed, and kept us informed during our lawsuit. He was always calm, reassuring, and gave us information about pros and cons of the case so we could make our own choices. In communicating with depositions, he allowed time to make appointments so people who wanted to add to the facts of the case could comfortably participate. We felt we were represented well and received a fair settlement with the insurance company we could live with.

A hard divorce is all the harder when the fight is over child custody too. It's harder still when you live across the state from the courthouse and your lawyer.
