Tony has been a trusted corporate counsel for my startup for years. Since the very early days when my business was but a concept in my head, Tony would listen and provide feedback grounded in the law, yet deeply supportive. Tony's been there for the ups (when my business grew revenues 5x, during COVID) and the downs (when I had to let go of my contractors and tighten the belt across the board, during the current 2023 recession). The depth of Tony's counsel is thorough, but what makes it unique is its impressive functional range. Among others, Tony has resolved legal topics for me like software IP ownership, cap table disputes, and co-founder liabilities. HKM and especially Jason Rittereiser are amazing. After 2 years of being told by friends and others who experienced the same, that my situation was hopeless, and after an attorney botched my case, as well as after a number of law firms turned my case down, I came upon a case online that was successfully resolved. It had some similarities to my own. The law firm cited in the case was HKM Employment Attorneys LLP. I contacted them and spoke with Mr. Rittereiser. He seemed to instantly cut through the morass and focused like a laser through the overwhelming muddle between Independent Contractor/Employee status. A few months later my case was resolved. Can you imagine the elation felt in going from 2 years of certain hopelessness to a positive resolution of my case? Well, I owe my gratitude to Mr. Rittereiser and HKM. His tenacity and personal attention to my case was amazing. I also feel that HKM is a large enough Law Firm to have resources and staff available to effortlessly tackle the cases that don’t quite fit easily in the box.
