He has very poor communication skills. Not only will Matt not return your phone calls or emails but he will not even respond to the other parties attorney. Talk about unprofessional! During the consultation he seems like he will get things done for you, but the second he gets his retainer money from you he stops caring about you. He gets his payday all up front so there is no way to hold him accountable. Something else that is just not right is that when we talk about the details of my divorce offer he just emails it to the other lawyer without giving me a chance to look it over first. The other party is always given a copy of everything their lawyer does for them and even has to send it to me so that I can see it!! Divorce is not an easy thing to go through and choosing him was a HUGE MISTAKE. I wanted someone to help me navigate my way through the divorce process and tell me what has to be done but instead I feel like I am blindly stumbling through the process alone while the other party has someone actually fighting for them.

Janae was appointed ad litem for our case and started out quite well and seemed to go over evidence and fight for the child really well. This case drug on for a year and a half. The week before court she started acting differently and became very unprofessional including cursing during meetings, then completely flipped on her original decisions from the months prior. She allowed her own personal feelings to get in the way of her professional opinions and in the end the judge didn't agree with her decisions. Not to mention the outrageous amount she charges for what seemed like very sub par work.

I cannot recommend The Law Office of Blair Zwillman highly enough. When my then 19-year old son got his only traffic ticket a few years ago, Mr. Zwillman pulled off a miracle. My husband and I are both non-practicing attorneys and almost lost our minds when we sat this ticket. It was over two feet long and contained 6 or 7 separate violations adding up to a more than $700 fine and so many points that my son almost lost his newly minted driver’s license. The NJ cop who pulled him over was clearly on a mission to more than exceed his quota that mouth as many of the violations he was cited for were clearly discretionary and over the top.
Long story short, we contested the ticket and Mr. Zwillman represented my son in traffic court. He vastly exceeded our expectations and got the ticket down to about $100 fine and just a few points. As a former traffic court judge myself, I can attest to Mr. Zwillman’s incredible skills in working with prosecutors and judges to achieve the best possible results for his clients. He is one of the best attorneys I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

I have never needed a lawyer before and I found myself in a situation where I needed a divorce lawyer ASAP. I was kind of blind sided. I started to panic and get nervous who should I call, who can I use, do I know anyone who is a lawyer, or would refer me to a good lawyer. That is when I was referred to Tara Ward @ Annutto Law. I called and I got an appt that same day. Every time I called or emailed Tara she got right back to me. She became very familiar with me and my case. Amy Gostanian took all our info and make us understand all the pro and cons in making a trust, paralegal Diane Davis was the go too and she took all info that we agreed during the meeting, she went above and behind to treat us the best way possible, she is a very good hearted person.

I originally lived in Kansas when my child custody case was created and I have since moved to North Carolina. There were some issues that arose with my daughter and I had to then find a lawyer that can practice in Kansas but would be willing to work with me via zoom. I was a little nervous about hiring an attorney without sitting down face to face and discussing my case.
I called and spoke with his staff to complete my intake paperwork and those ladies were so kind and caring and then after my Zoom call with Tony, I knew that I had found the right person to represent my daughter and I.
Tony is so kind and professional and he truly listens and cares. He was very patient with me during this process and always quick to respond to emails, phone calls, etc. He will fight for you and advocate for you, all the while keeping a positive attitude.
I will continue to use Tony and his staff with any future family law needs.

I first worked with Tony several years ago regarding a family law matter. I knew he was gold then and was so grateful he took me on as a client.
More recently, through a series of sad and unusual events, I became the administrator of my ex’s (and father of my child) estate, largely due to some ongoing litigation he had prior to passing.
Tony was my first call when that roller coaster started because I trusted him and knew I would need some help navigating. Through it, I worked with three other sets of attorneys I did not hire.
I can emphatically say Tony is hands down my favorite attorney. Tony has been the only attorney that I worked with that keeps at the forefront that clients are generally not attorneys and that all the not knowing through the legal process is really hard on them. Because the estate had so many moving parts, and I subsequently had a lot of questions, I got to find out how many ways Tony aims at efficiency AND keeping clients informed.
One set of attorneys was particularly awful, and I’m grateful Tony took the brunt of that so that part could get wrapped up sooner than it would have otherwise. The other two were more on the “average” side, but getting information from them was so difficult at times. The one I had the longest working relationship with also does family law, which makes me all the more emphatic in my recommendation of Tony.
He will actually listen to you. He handles the majority of his correspondence and will get back to you in a *very* timely matter, even with a busy caseload. His office staff are absolutely stellar. He really knows the law. (After my first call for the family law matter, as well as what turned into the estate, he quickly ascertained [with little information from me] what was going on and what was likely coming and gave me a spot on summary BOTH times.) Both cases had a moment of needing a strategic move, and what he arrived at was utterly brilliant, both times. He gives excellent counsel. I’ve never felt like I was just another day at the office/paycheck to him. That’s hard to do in any line of work, but especially in one that has so much routine in the day-to-day coupled with clients who are probably having a lot of rough days in a row. His billing is extremely fair, especially given he will not be wasting his time or yours and he will spare you SO MANY headaches because of how he keeps you informed and handles things as a whole. Tony somehow manages to move towards an efficient and fair resolution without getting mired in all the dramatic back and forth it’s easy to get into in a family law situation while still treating you like a person. And he does it all with the utmost integrity. He is the only attorney I’ve worked with that I would hire again (and with a swiftness). What an absolute godsend he’s been!

My experience with Mrs Quinn has been amazing, I hired her and it has been the best decision I could of made. I was nervous going through this process, but she made me feel confident and eased my nerves. She doesn’t take her job lightly and it shows. I knew I was in good hands when during our first court appearance 4 people came up to her and addressed her by her name and were like hi mrs Quin so and so hired you and you’re great just wanted to say hi. I know it’s the sheriffs jobs to remember the attorneys but even he addressed her by her name. It was respect well earned! Without getting into details of our case I will say she knows the law! And I would recommend to anyone who doesn’t know what they are doing, who does know what they are doing and just anyone in need of representation. She was recommended to me by my brother in law who hired her and I recommend her too! She is the best at what she does! 10/10.

This so called attorney loves to boost about her 50+ years as an attorney, she may have been at one time but she is nowhere close at being a good attorney, she didn't listen to me about the documents that my ex never supplied and never filed with the courts to get him to produce them either even after multiple times of letting her know. She would sit there in court like a deer with headlights on her, just sat there looking dumb and not asking my ex about anything I brought up and even told the other attorney what I told her in confidence and told her not to bring it up until I was able to get it taken care of and give her the evidence, 3 days later when we showed up in court she sees them in the hallway and she goes over and tells them what I told her not too.
All she did was run the bill up to 3 to 4 times of what it should of been.
This so called attorney needs to step down and give it up.

Paid him $2500.00 to complete a Civil Service Benefit after my separation. After 4 weeks I called to see where we stood on the order and he didn’t remember that I emailed the instructions for completing the claim. He was very rude and unprofessional. I feel that he took advantage of a new single divorced female. Only refunded $600.00 dollars. I retained a new lawyer that completed the job in one week.

To Carmen from March 2019. Years ago, over 20, I was referred to Lloyd Kelso by a very reputable law firm in Raleigh. He was referred as the "one of the best" Family Law Attorney's in NC. I traveled many miles to see him with a small child. At first I was very pleased. I thought I had one of the best lawyers out there. Then he left the firm he was with to go into Entertainment Law and moved his practice to Tennessee. I did not switch lawyers, I stuck with him. My divorce was a nightmare. I was caught between being a mother, a caregiver for elderly relatives, an uncooperative ex-spouse and what turned-out to be an uncaring attorney. The move was the first thing. It took 4 years to get my ex to sign the separation agreement. He held-out to keep me from claiming alienation of affection. That would have been easy to prove. He has a son by his then girlfriend who is only a little more than 5 months younger than our son. I signed-off thinking everything was great even though there was a just issue with my ex's retirement. His 401k was in the agreement but it didn't appear to me that that included all of his retirement. Years later when my husband retired I found-out that the agreement had not included his retirement from his job, even though state law says I am entitled to it. He, my ex told me he would not sign anything for me to get his retirement. All the years I had spent married to my ex, moving from county to county, leaving jobs that could have provided me and my children with sufficient income to support them, even having to give-up our house, and it looked like no one thought I deserved to be able to retire. I knew the law couldn't make my husband stay in the lives of our children, he didn't, but at least I could have been allowed to retire decently. I tried other lawyers when I found-out he had filed the QDRO at the same time I took early retirement (my job was physically killing me). I returned to Mr. Kelso who told me he hadn't promised me anything. Based on the other reviews I read that described Mr. Kelso as "brilliant, "excellent", and "Christian", and my experience and Carmen's, makes me wonder if the service he provides applies to everyone. My life is almost at an end and I want God's forgiveness so I forgive Mr. Kelso.

I'd met Lloyd Kelso in Gastonia decades ago through music. I have now and have had up most respect for Mr Kelso personally and professionally.
I live in Burke County NC. I have had ongoing adversity before and since my divorce in 2014 while experiencing life threatening health issues including Heart, Fearful of law enforcement and Severe depression to mention a few. Been hospitalized several times in Orangeburg SC Hospital and hospitals in NC due to continuous threats, fraudulent claims against me causing worsening health issues including losing 77 lbs in matter of months, home invasion while being held in jail by false charges while Burke County Deputies along with my ex and son (on drugs) broke into my home on April 13, 2015. Never underestimate a woman's scorn after nearly 4 decades of marriage.
Maybe too much information however I was so sick during this horrible time in my life I now want all to know I'm honest and starting to have better physical and mental health.
Absolutely no one would take my case I believe due to high profile law enforcement involved. Also, I put my ex through 4 yrs of nursing school. Afterwards she won award for excellent Nurse patient care including caring for and rubbing elbows with highly influential people in Burke County/surrounding Counties. People like myself, Doctor, family and true friends knew a different RN, another side of the Nurse some thought they knew. Prior to divorce she refused a drug test and promptly moved to Pegram Tennessee with man supposed to be life long friend however briefly coming back to Burke County to break into my home well planned.
I have confidence that Lloyd Kelso will shed some light on the long hard battle for justice I deserve so that I might be able to save remainder of land that goes back centuries with my mom's family.
My prayers are being answered, God is Blessing me and I look forward to closure from the darkness and into a loving relationship with my first love from 1973, my fiance Barbara.
God has blessed me with one of the top 100 family law attorneys in NC. Answering my prayers.

Regina has a very hard time returning calls, answering questions, remembering her clients names, anything you tell her seems to go in one ear and out the other. She will forget tasks she agreed to complete, mistakes on paperwork, causing wrong names on court documents! She's moved her office at least twice since we hired her. We have paid over $2500 and she never returns my call. She was a good lawyer but she may be reaching a time where she needs to retire. I think we have made a dangerous choice that could cost us dearly.

I have had the worse possible outcome and time with this attorney ! If you want your case to be over looked and you to be over charged for staying on top of her at doing her job be my guess ! This law office is not whom you are wanting to represent you at all! I had to beg and plea for help the entire time this was dragged out. $8,000 later was not worth it…the defendant was even willing to settle for MORE before court and she turned down the request. I never Got documents on time or informed of my case in detail. I was Told one thing and the defends attorney was told something else after court. This law office is a JOKE and I will be going to the BBB and NC Bar !

This lawyer was unfocused, delayed hearings and disappeared for weeks. Meanwhile my life with a divorce looming was terrifying. He assistant was too nice to work with a shyster like Fulton
She demanded money from me then I would not hear of anything. She dodged my phone calls constantly.
Upshot at the end because she ran the clock out I had to settle quickly and lost a lot of money. I talked to another lawyer hoping to rectify the damage done but was told there was nothing I could do and that A. Michelle Fulton was a poor attorney and not respected by her peers.

Michelle Fulton is the worst attorney ever. Please do not hire her because she will take all your money and loose your case. She is very unorganized and unprofessional. When she asks for things and you send them she does not remember and asks for those items again so you’re getting double charged. She also reschedules hearings and says she is sick or a family emergency has come up. She is very unprofessional even the judge disliked her and of course I lost my case. My recommendation pay a great attorney money and win versus hiring a cheap attorney who will lose your case. Also if you check her reviews not to many you definitely want an attorney that has more than 100 reviews and a high rating like 4.9 out of 5. Just some tips for you to not hire this attorney. I so regret hiring this attorney and will never recommend or utilize her and will be filing a complaint with the State Bar.

Upon meeting Nancy, I immediately felt comfortable that she was able to understand the potential difficulty of my divorce case. Little did we know what the future would hold and just how challenging and complex my case would end up being. We ended up dealing with an onslaught of false allegations, various CPO's and eventually a case of parental alienation. I will say that Nancy had the experience to tackle all of the issues gracefully and with the children's best interest in mind. She worked extremely well with the GAL in sorting through all of the testimony, details and the facts of the case that resulted in a change of custody. I can't thank her enough for her sensitivity to the issues, her patience with me, and her eternal optimism for the best outcome. I was panicked when I first figured out that I needed help with my child custody situation. Fortunately, a friend of mine, who went through a child custody situation, recommended Nancy through personal experience. When I reached out to Nancy she called me back immediately. I was surprised to get a response so quickly. Over the phone, she asked pointed questions and helped me understand that her only concern would be the wellbeing of my child. At the in person consultation, she offered me a game plan to help me in a lot of different scenarios with the father of my child...it was much more than I could’ve imagined getting out of an hour long consultation. Even more impressive was her honesty and candor; she told me that I need not retain her services yet, but that when I needed she would be there for me. In summary, I cannot imagine a more professional, capable, and reassuring legal resource than Nancy. My overall impression of her is this- she’s truly a trust-worthy, eminently experienced, and ethical partner.

I have used Phillip intermittently over 10 years. He has always given excellent and timely advice. In August there was a complication with a closing. Being 720 miles away I contacted him again late on a Thursday. Phil went above and beyond, working on the weekend to research and write an answer that was delivered on Monday. I could not have asked for more. I wanted to shake his hand and personally thank him. This is second best.

As an attorney I knew I needed an expert attorney to handle my bitter divorce; I did not know Emily at the time but she came highly recommended by attorneys I know. Emily obtained all of my initial goals and charged me 1/3rd what opposing counsel charged my ex. In other words she absolutely won my case as she is an expert.
I was unsure of the judge assigned to my case and of opposing counsel but Emily kept everything on tract to move the case and get it over with, being a bulldozer or a charmer, whatever she needed to do for me.
5 stars and a whopping high 5.
Whatever Emily does she will do it in an exemplary fashion.

When my rights were being trampled over, Bedford twp Veteran Center pointed me to Mr. Blume as a lawyer. He is very good at rerouting your mind when you are speaking to him about your case, if you get distracted with non important details, he keeps you on track essentially saving your money/time.
When you hire Mr Blume, you are getting a lot more than you think for your retainer and continued fees.
He is simply worth more than what he charges, and that is my bottom line.
If you give him all of your evidence and annotations etc, he handles the court room; You can mostly sit back and watch him work. Unless I am spoken to, I keep my mouth shut entirely unless directed, and it works out every single time.
When you hire Mr. Blume, he really is All In on your case. He is very very perceptive of peoples' mannerisms, and knows how to approach multiple situations that are all pretty high stress. He is respectful to the court, and he will make sure your concerns are heard while in the hearing.
*Have patience, always*; court often moves slow. Sometimes there are days you all show up with lawyers and the court doesn't handle the business You wanted. That's more often than not, out of a lawyers control.
In the end, do you want what's best for you and yours? This man will help you get there.
I type this as I was awarded majority custody of my kiddos through our efforts together, and I cannot thank him enough for his efforts.

I will always be so grateful and appreciative for how Sean Blume handled my divorce. I was so lost, vulnerable and alone once I realized my marriage was over.
