We met Nigel almost 15 years ago when he was referred to us by another lawyer who happened to be the brother of a family friend. We had been involved in a car accident on the freeway on my 30th birthday; rear-ended in stop and go morning traffic, only the car behind us didn't stop. She was going fast enough that it sparked a chain reaction of rear-end collisions that involved a total of 4 cars. There were no serious injuries, my neck was a little sore but didn't require immediate medical attention, and my husband, who was driving, and I continued to on to work after the CHP took their report. After a few hours I began having some more intense neck and shoulder pains and when the headache set in we left work and headed to the doctor. It wasn't until this family friend suggested that we call her brother that the thought of contacting a lawyer ever crossed my mind. And as much as I love this friend, I'm so glad her brother didn't handle cases like this anymore because he gave us Nigel's # which put us in the best possible hands. From the first meeting Nigel put us at ease. He listened to our story intently but with compassion and heartfelt concern. He told us we had a good case and that he wanted to help us. He wanted us to let him worry about anything dealing with the insurance companies and the other drivers involved and for us to focus on my injury, which turned out to be 2 herniated discs in my neck that caused pain, numbness, loss of feeling and strength on one arm and hand. The doctor's appointments, specialist appointments, tests and lab work seemed endless in the months and years that followed but having Nigel and his amazing staff on our side to handle all the legal things and knowing he had our back and was fighting for us allowed us to focus our efforts on my health, our 18-month old son and our family. Nigel and his team were available to us anytime we needed. There was no request too small, no question too stupid...they were patient with us, they guided us through every detail. Nigel was with both my husband and myself at every, single, deposition and there were many. He was meticulous and yet compassionate in the way he helped us to prepare for what we could expect in those depositions. We never felt like this was another case to him...I can honestly say Nigel made us feel like we were his ONLY case. It took almost 3 long years but with Nigel's expertise and guidance we were able to settle our case out of court with an awesome outcome for us. And our relationship with Nigel didn't end when our case settled, his guidance, advice, support and counseling has continued over the last 15 years...so much so that when we talk about him and refer people to him, we no longer call him our lawyer; we call him our friend. You will not find a better lawyer representing you, fighting for you, standing up for you and caring about you like Nigel does for each of his clients. Now flash forward to today when I unfortunately was in a similar situation again, this time with the other driver at fault and under insured, our insurance company refused to pay out our policy for this exact scenario. Well, Nigel and his team of attorneys, especially Ronin, went to work and they came through for us…BIG TIME!! I really hope we never need a lawyer to represent us again, but if we do Nigel will be the ONLY one I call.

I don't know where to begin. I was recommended to Nigel by a friend who hired him for his case regarding his insurance claim from a car accident. Mine was dealing with HOA issues and the constant harassment they were giving me and my family for no reason at all. I submitted consultation requests to several law offices and Nigel Burns' offices were one of the only two that responded. The other firm responded by email that were not accepting new clients. Nigel Burns' office took the time to call me and although they weren't able to take on my case, they provided me with an attorney referral. Their very timely response to my initial inquiry and their willingness to provide an alternative resource left me speechless. Who does that?? Certainly not any of the other dozen+ law firms I reached out to that have yet to respond. This was a tough case, as I'm sure many are. I worked mainly with another attorney that worked for Nigel, she was awesome, Dylan. I understand that there are other cases and the bottom line, they (Nigel and Dylan) did the best for us they could---without dragging it out and possible spending quite a few more thousands of dollars more. I was not always the easiest person to work with, stress level was high. Patience is not a virtue of mine, but they handled it very well and it was so appreciated.
