Have been with Preston since early 1990 and did a complete trust revision in 2007. Wife died in 2014 and Don Zoellner handled the entire trust rewrite and property, etc transfer with minimum effort from me. I get yearly reviews and a chance to make changes. If you want a trust, Preston is the way to go.

Great experience before and after the loss of a loved one. They aren’t cheap but I would do it all over again if given the opportunity as they made a very difficult task as seamless as possible. They walked me through every detail with experience and grace and took care of most things for me so I didn’t have to. I’m thankful my parents, aunts and uncles found them, and have told several of my friends about them as well as we are now at the age where planning for the inevitable needs to happen. I am especially thankful for Jessica who always found a way to get me to the right person or find me the answers I needed when I needed them.

True Story (and worth the read!) Our previous Trust attorney had passed away, and we needed to update our Trust. Consequently, I conducted a search of online reviews and found two Trust attorneys in my area, both of whom had all five stars. We contacted one of them, made an appointment, and during the office visit she insisted that my wife and I needed to pay a 50% retainer up front in order to proceed. She made a personable impression so we gave her a check. The results? A) After going back and forth with her legal secretary about misinformation errors that needed correcting, even though during our actual meeting we had given the Trust attorney pertinent documentation, and her making notes about the correct information required, AND even after emailing her a written recap of all of the correct information; B) Being informed while doing these back-and-forth corrections, that "‘so-and-so’ is no longer here,” so we had to go over the same material again with another ‘person’ (legal secretary??) and C) Along with other annoyances, such as not being able to speak directly to the attorney except communicating with her by email first, we ended up with two Trusts that were so abysmally written, my son who lives in Canada, and is the Trustee of our estate, said his Trust attorney knew enough about California Trusts to the extent that he strongly advised us not to sign these as they were currently written. We got his Trust lawyer involved because my son and I, although not being lawyers, knew, or at the very least had strong impressions, that they were poorly written when we received the final draft. So, what were we to do? We lost the retainer, and we were back to square one again. Oh, and the other Trust attorney? Although we had a positive initial phone conversation and set forth plans to meet and proceed, we never heard back, even after leaving this attorney an assuring, follow-up voicemail message. Actually, we did hear back; we received an email about six weeks or so later inquiring if we were ready to proceed. Mmm…don’t think so. Why? Because, although quite jaded and discouraged trying to find a competent Trust attorney using the Internet, we made one more kick at the can and contacted Preston Estate Planning. Dare we say, “Hallelujah!” whether religious or otherwise? From our very first meet-and-greet Zoom meeting with the Trust attorney, and throughout the whole process (which involved some non-standard issues), everything was very professionally accomplished involving specialized staff personnel at each particular stage, and all within expedient time frames. We were given non-legal language interim drafts, an assigned concierge contact person, and then at the final signing, they even made arrangements for the notary to come right to our home! And, yes, we were able to speak with the actual attorney who was handling our Trust, any time we requested using any format, be it a regular phone call, Skype, or Zoom! The significance of this story? Everyone lived happily ever after! And even when one or both of us ‘passes on’, (after all, this story is it about Trusts) still, there will be no worries. Why? Because even then, Preston Estate Planning has everything covered—an on-going ‘plan’ for you and your Trustee(s) for when that day does eventually come around. Five, six…ten star, dispel all fears, HONEST review. — Paul and Jean

Good people, great service, and extremely knowledgeable! Every time I had questions the Concierge team with Jessica Wilcox was always eager to help. My parents set up their Trust in 1996 and we have had to make at least 4 updates to it, all of which went smoothly. In fact, I liked them so much I had them write my own Trust as well. We "Trust" them with our lives!
