Mr. Nitzkin and his staff helped me with a credit report issue I was having. My inquiries to the reporting agency were met with either stoney silence or cursory replies that did not address the issue I was having. After Mr. Nitzkin took the case, the reporting agency agreed to fix my credit report to make it accurate, paid Mr. Nitzkin's fees, and paid statutory damages to me. My sole goal going into the case was to have my credit report accurately reflect my history so the money damages obtained were a bonus in my mind. KENSTAR Credit Service is truly outstanding. I have been trying for weeks to do a Chex system fix and get rid of 2 bad accounts on my credit report. To say McCarthy and his team gave me hope would be an understatement. Hope was something I never thought was possible. My parents divorced right at the time I was to attend an out of state university. On paper, my mom looked “fine” (able to support me according to FAFSA) so I didn’t get much help financially even though she was putting out a lot because of the divorce, having to relocate, etc. so I didn’t qualify for much of any federal loans/ grants. And being in my late teens, early 20s, I didn’t know better than to sign my life away to get the private loan support.
Flash forward after graduation, I found a job at a non-profit organization. The work was challenging but rewarding to be able to provide hope to those in need, but financially, like many other jobs out of college and non-profits, it didn’t allow me enough to keep up with the high interest rates and steady incline of my loans. Despite many efforts for financial assistance from the private loan lender, the payments began to exceed my monthly income. I exhausted my forbearance and thought to myself, “This is how my life’s going to be”
That’s when I found McCarthy. From the initial contact until the very last contact, they have been eager, humble, receptive, generous, and knowledgeable. To be able to speak to a person, not an automated message or system, but every day people was a treat in itself. They took time to explain me to how I can work towards gaining financial freedom and within a few years and a payment plan (without interest accumulating) I would be able to pay off the loan in its entirety. And not the amount it exceeded to (138k) because of interest, but the amount I took out from the beginning (108K) by negotiating the amount with the private lender themselves. I was able to focus on getting my life back, working the usual course to get promotions without the burden of paying an amount I couldn’t afford. And by having extra in my pocket, it made my job enjoyable again. I was able to give the best version of myself in all aspects of my life because, for once, I didn’t have to worry about “How am I going to make the next payment” The staff were beyond welcoming and remained that light, that beacon in my life since 2015. From Kelly who greeted me with a “It’ll be ok,” from Ali who said “Let’s look at getting a payment plan set up for you” to Joan who said, “I got you and will continue to fight for you” it was something that was not only refreshing, but humbling as well for me. The zeal exhibited by all that work at McCarthy Law is unmatched.
I was one of the fortunate ones to say that I am now 100% free of my private loans. 108k settled!! Joan worked real time magic in negotiating my loan amount to where I was able to receive a payment back from McCarthy of all I paid to them over the years, following settlement. They thought that was a blessing, but to me, they were my blessing. To top it all off, Kevin McCarthy reached out to me via mail congratulating me on reaching financial freedom. I just cried when I read it and it remains on my fridge as a reminder to this day. It took me a bit to write my testimony, partly because I’m still in disbelief that I’m free, but more importantly, because I wanted to take the time to write something from my heart, something they touched long ago.
I have recommended a few people to McCarthy and would recommend them to anyone who feels stuck, lost, and is experiencing hopelessness as a result of student loans. And just like they did with me, I’ll pay it forward as well.

What could easily have been the most challenging times of my life wasn’t thanks to services provided by Eric and Blanca.
I was 3 months into a separation that led to a child custody case when I suffered an injury at work. Initially I was diagnosed with a contusion by Concentra, the clinic working for my employer, I was given Tylenol and released back to work. Anxiety took hold of me like never before. In one hand, the only thing in life I knew to do was work, thinking I have no choice but to return due to the expenses of my child custody case. On the other hand, I knew there was something wrong, so much more than a “contusion,” and I have a responsibility to keep myself healthy for my son/daughter. Robert is the best attorney I have ever worked with. From our first meeting, he explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand and was always very responsive when I had questions outside of our meeting. Robert is amazing and has the knowledge and expertise necessary to help you.
He is fantastic at stopping debt collectors that are conducting intimidating and abusive tactics and performing illegal practices to collect consumer debt.
I was injured in 2014, as a result I suffered a financial hardship and couldn't pay my creditors, I had lost everything by 2017, surrendering the last item I couldn't pay and was basically homeless staying with freinds.
When I returned to work, working for financial recovery and to gain the basic necessities to survive I was defeated by an attorney of law representing a debt collector because I chose to go it alone without representation, that was in 2020.
In 2021, a year later I was served again by the exact same attorney representing another debt collector.
I could hardly believe what was going on and felt that the attorney was actively searching my name for debt and wouldn't stop until every penny I had would be theirs and i would be homeless. I had had enough, my only hope this time around would be representation.
I called Robert Mitchell's office for help, Robert called me back immediately as he knew that there was no time to waste.
He obtained information from me (plaintiff attorney, my credit report and state that debt originated) and a brief history of the debt, he then put my mind at ease and assured me he will be doing all he can to help me.
Within a few days Robert found many problems with the collection lawsuit against me and immediately launched an aggressive countersuit against the plaintiff which not only resulted in a dismissal of the case but a deletion of an erroneous account on my credit report with a substantial monetary settlement in my favor.
I was amazed at what Robert accomplished in a short amount of time, as I had only expected a reduction, a wash or dismissal of the case.
In conclusion, i would like to say that if you are finding yourself in a similar situation or something in regards, please don't ignore or hide from it, don't get the feeling you have no where to turn to, I would recommend you call and consult with Robert immediately, he can be your only hope, the winning edge against the illegal practices debt collectors are resorting to.

Mr. Fine really believes in the concept of justice for the maligned. A debt collection agency knew they were breaking the law when they served me but still tried to collect on a deceptively high amount. They would not back down but neither did Mr. Fine. Dan was amazing. He took on my case to quash a default judgement that I had received. The default judgement was received without proper process service and in the wrong venue.
