Polite staff. But I specifically asked if they handled a specific type of case and was told yes. Then when I gave the basics of my case, suddenly they didn't and only did DUI cases. Not sure if I would use these folks if I ever get a DUI (knock knock on wood). Reviews are good, but first impressions put me off.

While on vacation in Boston, I was falsely accused of a serious crime, arrested, and faced with felony charges.
After spending the night in jail, I was assigned a public defender who was entirely unfamiliar with my case. Unfortunately, not only was this public defender incompetent, but he also lacked the appropriate credentials to handle a case of such seriousness.
I was facing a minimum of five years in prison, and my bail was set at $60,000. The public defender made no effort to fight for me. He didn't attempt to have my bail reduced or identify any weaknesses in the case against me. Instead, he simply agreed with the prosecutor and judge, and I was sent back to jail.
After three nights in jail, my family informed me that they had hired a criminal defense attorney named Paul Moraski, who would be visiting me in a couple of days.
True to their word, Paul arrived at the jail two days later. I was escorted by a correctional officer to meet him. From the moment we met, I knew Paul was the right lawyer for me. He had an incredible personality, was highly educated and knowledgeable, and held himself to a very high standard. For the first time, I felt hopeful again.
The first thing Paul said to me was, "We’re going to beat this case." He then assured me, "I am going to get your bail reduced from $60,000 to $30,000 so you can go home." Paul not only understood my case thoroughly but also knew the courtroom inside and out, thanks to his 14+ years of experience.
Two days later, I had another court appearance, and Paul was outstanding. He successfully persuaded the judge to lower my bail from $60,000 to $30,000, allowing my family to secure my release.
The night I was bailed out, Paul immediately called to congratulate me on going home. He reassured me once again, saying, "There are numerous holes in your case, and you have nothing to worry about."
Despite Paul's reassurances, I remained anxious about my case after returning home and would call him weekly. Each time, Paul answered the phone, and if he was in court, he would return my call immediately afterward.
Paul is an exceptional attorney, though not inexpensive. However, he provided me with a very reasonable rate given the severity of my case. He also offered me a monthly payment plan, which greatly eased the financial burden.
When it comes to fighting for your freedom, no price is too high. Paul Moraski was worth every dollar.
Six months later, just as Paul had predicted from the start, my case was completely dismissed.
If you find yourself facing legal issues in the Boston area, I highly recommend contacting and hiring Paul Moraski. He is not only an outstanding defense attorney but also a remarkable person. I feel like I not only hired a lawyer but also gained a friend.

Such a nice experience after a dead end - two hour search for an Attorney. Mr. Barlow took the time to call me back after office hours. He was the first attorney I was able to get in contact with. He was informative, and even though he could not help me with my issue, he asked questions and tried to help by thinking of who may be able. He cut to the chase, and was clear on his wording which I appreciated. His Paralegal was also extremely kind and helpful when I initially called.
When I called and spoke with Mr. Barlow's Paralegal, she did not believe they would be able to take my case, however she still reached out to Mr. Barlow to see if he could help. He got back to me within one hour and shared what he could. I will go back to this law office when/if I have relevant needs due to this experience today.

Hey, you drivers out there. I have to say that Joe is amazing at his job in traffic laws. I was just handed a blessing by his representation. I got a ticket last year for a moving violation, and now that moving violation is gone, and I have no points on my CDL A license. Joe presented a stellar case, and the courts just ruled in giving me a small fine of $62.00 with no points allocated to my CDL. Great results, and now I can keep trucking. You guys get with Joe. In September 2023, my brother (25, from Arizona) got arrested (in San Francisco, California) after attempting to enter a conference within a community both of us grew up in and have been apart of since 2008. His car keys were knocked out of his suit pants during a tackle incident at the security clearance after he had trouble leaving when asked. According to my brother there was a misunderstanding of an email conflicting with him not being invited to the conference. After being tackled and handcuffed, he told the officers he had a concealed firearm in his vehicle, 5 minutes away, as he felt it was a danger for his keys to be off of his person. I was at this conference, and saw some of this happen live. My peers in our place of work were laughing, and making memes about this for months. There are many videos and pictures of the whole ordeal.
They put 6 charges on him that night, including "possession of armor piercing ammunition" and "high capacity magazines"
The SF media created a narrative off of the charges and the prosecution ran with it moving to deny bail within the first week, just as my family was even beginning to cope with this new reality. Public consensus of the incident caused a rift in the community between those who knew him for years prior and know he would never do what was being inferred by the media, and those who didn't know him and were led to believe it. Our family used this as fuel to ensure we stuck with this case mentally and financially, no matter how hard it felt and how much of an uphill battle it was at times.
We went through two public defenders, and another private attorney before landing on Nechay Law in late March 2024. Nechay tried many angles of defense for this non violent gun storage charge. All previous charges except "having a concealed firearm in a vehicle" were wiped, and the remaining was moved to a misdemeanor which a change of plea got him out of jail after 1 year, 4 days.
The prosecution was going for conviction on the felony level to get him 6 years, based upon the narrative they shaped up. Nechay (even after 7 months of other attorneys handling the case) was able to reverse and put to rest the previously life ruining, retribution hungry narrative.
The best scenario out of all of this is he will be getting more familial attention and help to deal with previous traumas such as a car crash that totaled his very expensive car, two home break-ins, and his business faltering. Rebuilding for him will be a hard but rewarding journey, and Nechay has allowed that second chance of the sanctity of life to happen through her expertise. I cannot recommend enough. Our family is eternally grateful for Valery and her firm's service.

John did an outstanding job of representing me as a public defender. At a time when I was out of work due to filing for SSDI. Charges were brought against that were false. He was able to bring witness in to testify on my behalf and advise me through the 2 year ordeal. Communication was never an issue. He never once doubted or questioned my innocence.
In the end hearing the Judge give his verdict of not guilt was such a relief. At a time when people can just bring false claim against people and alter their lives in do so. I am thankful that Attorney Pickering was there to represent me.

Wow, I truly cannot thank Rebecca enough. My husband had an old case from 2015 that we both thought was resolved. We found out recently that it was not when we tried to hire an expungement lawyer. The expungement lawyer told us he couldn’t help because the case was on going. I googled lawyers who would able to help for his specific situation and came across Rebecca. In September 2023, my brother (25, from Arizona) got arrested (in San Francisco, California) after attempting to enter a conference within a community both of us grew up in and have been apart of since 2008. His car keys were knocked out of his suit pants during a tackle incident at the security clearance after he had trouble leaving when asked. According to my brother there was a misunderstanding of an email conflicting with him not being invited to the conference. After being tackled and handcuffed, he told the officers he had a concealed firearm in his vehicle, 5 minutes away, as he felt it was a danger for his keys to be off of his person. I was at this conference, and saw some of this happen live. My peers in our place of work were laughing, and making memes about this for months. There are many videos and pictures of the whole ordeal.
They put 6 charges on him that night, including "possession of armor piercing ammunition" and "high capacity magazines"
The SF media created a narrative off of the charges and the prosecution ran with it moving to deny bail within the first week, just as my family was even beginning to cope with this new reality. Public consensus of the incident caused a rift in the community between those who knew him for years prior and know he would never do what was being inferred by the media, and those who didn't know him and were led to believe it. Our family used this as fuel to ensure we stuck with this case mentally and financially, no matter how hard it felt and how much of an uphill battle it was at times.
We went through two public defenders, and another private attorney before landing on Nechay Law in late March 2024. Nechay tried many angles of defense for this non violent gun storage charge. All previous charges except "having a concealed firearm in a vehicle" were wiped, and the remaining was moved to a misdemeanor which a change of plea got him out of jail after 1 year, 4 days.
The prosecution was going for conviction on the felony level to get him 6 years, based upon the narrative they shaped up. Nechay (even after 7 months of other attorneys handling the case) was able to reverse and put to rest the previously life ruining, retribution hungry narrative.
The best scenario out of all of this is he will be getting more familial attention and help to deal with previous traumas such as a car crash that totaled his very expensive car, two home break-ins, and his business faltering. Rebuilding for him will be a hard but rewarding journey, and Nechay has allowed that second chance of the sanctity of life to happen through her expertise. I cannot recommend enough. Our family is eternally grateful for Valery and her firm's service.

Attorney Sills was incredible. Not only is he personable and guided me through the uncomfortable and stressful process without a hitch, but he also knows his stuff and his knowledge made the difference in my case. I did not know about the "clean slate" act. I had a misstep as a young man 20 years ago, and it would have affected my case. Attorney Sills argued my past charge should not be taken into account because of the Clean Slate Act, and because of that I was treated as a first offender. I was handed down a much more manageable consequence as a result. I'm dumb for the mistake I made, but overall I'm a good law abiding citizen and family Man, and I needed his help to guide me through this. If I tried to save money and go at it myself, I would have not known that and would have been given a much stiffer punishment. Having Attorney Sills on my side made all the difference.
Another reason I liked working with Mr. Sills was because he was trustworthy. I spoke with a different lawyer before I called Attorney Sills. That lawyer said my case should be $10,000 but he would "cut me a deal for $8,000 because I was a veteran". SMH, I felt like I was buying a used car. I then called Attorney Sills and he was a straight shooter, it was just "here's our rate", no haggling, this is what it is. I liked that a lot, and the price was half the price of the other guy who supposedly "was cutting me a deal". He's fair, friendly, and knows his stuff. He and his paralegal team were very communicative with all the steps in the process, all I needed to do was follow their direction and I was good to go.
One last thing I liked, which seemed to help although I never discussed it with him. He is local to the greater Hartford area and seems to knows these folks well. The prosecutor, the judges, Bail commissioner, etc. He seems to have everyone's respect, and when negotiating a case that personal touch has got to matter somewhat I would guess. I don't know how much difference it made, but it did give me comfort that he seemed to know the room and they seemed to know him.
All in all, I can't say enough about the guy. I know this may sound embelished like I'm his Aunt writing a review or something, but trust me, I'm a real dude. A 45 year old Army Vet, football Coach, career in sales. I'm a legit person who was very fortunate to have made the decision to go with Mr. Sills. I never stop to write reviews but after how great he was, I had to leave him a top rated review, he deserves it and I couldn't be more thankful for his help.
On his Website, he has a phrase that says something along the lines of, "Don't allow your life to be ruined because of one mistake". Theat originally caught my eye because overall I'm a family man that made a rare mistake but shouldn't be ruined for it. Exactly what that phrase said is what happened. I did have some consequences as I should have, but my life is not ruined from it and I am able to stay afloat and get back on track moving forward thanks to Attorney Sills.
If you ever find yourself in a jam, Mr. Sills is your Man. You will not regret it, and hopefully this review helps steer you in the right direction.
