Chris is an excellent attorney, he is fair but honest. He is loyal and very clear and direct about what is to be expected through out the process. Chris has handled one of our children in their cases and helped tremendously. She would have been in severe trouble and he helped us and her to get on the right track. I've had other lawyers before and nobody compares. Attorney Brittain didn't tell me to take a deal because I would lose. Instead, he listened to me and told me we should fight and go to trial. He did a psycho-drama with me and it was amazing. After the psycho-drama, I understood how he was going to win my trial. He is a fantastic lawyer!

Marvin is a great lawyer. He is very knowledgeable about the law and will work your case. I ended up firing my previous attorney and Marvin represented me in a Grand Larceny case. It was a minor offense but because I was already serving a sentence, and this would have been my second conviction, he got me off with a slap on the wrist. I ended up doing less time and sentenced to less than the first judge sentenced me to.
Marvin has a very dry humor and often that is how he tells you what is going on. This might turn off some people. At first, it turned me off but I realized that this was just his personality and how comes off. In a way, he did not sugarcoat anything. I had that problem with my first attorney. I ended up with a 2 year sentence because he mishandled my case. I was guilty but in our society you get what you pay for in terms of legal representation. I paid heavily and did not get what I paid for(First Attorney). Marvin was the exact opposite. He was pricey at almost $9000 (Thank god to family and friends) but I was very pleased with the service. His office staff are very warm and nice too(Catherine). I am grateful to her for always getting my messages to Marvin, and my family when I could not reach them.
They bent over backwards to try to help me deal with my sentence. At times I would call them to contact my family or to make sure I was getting treated fairly in jail/prison. They always went above and beyond.They even wrote a letter to the Warden to get back on a medication I was taking. They had decided to take me off of it even though it was working but a bit pricey(They will get you on cheap stuff in there to cut costs). Thanks to a letter from Marvin, I was placed back on the medication. I do not know what would have happened if I was not placed back on this medication. It was one of the only ones that worked.
If you are looking for a good attorney in Fairfax County or Northern Virginia you should consider Marvin Miller. At least you will know you got your moneys worth. He is very professional and in the courtroom conducted himself like an attorney. He stood up to the prosecutor like he was suppose to, and asked the Judge for leniency. My previous attorney was scared and shaking. You need an attorney with balls, that is aggressive, and can get you the least amount of punishment if you are already going to be punished.
The legal system in Virginia is ridiculous, and in Fairfax County even more horrifying. So you need someone who can keep you out of trouble. Marvin Miller is the man!!!! I hope I do not need his services again because I am leading a straight and narrow life, but you bet I would call him again if it came to it.

Atty Patrick Waters is by far one of the best lawyers based on my firsthand experience when I hired him as my legal counsel. He really takes his time to listen to the client and gives you his knowledge about the case and his expert opinion on it. He doesn't sugarcoat anything so rest assured you will get truthful and unbiased feedbacl. He provided me with answers to my questions. In addition to this, his demeanor was very accommodating and friendly and you don't get that from most lawyers. I felt very at ease the whole time I had lengthy dicussions with him either through the phone or in person. He was a powerhouse and a formidable lawyer during trials. Because of his knowledge and expertise, I won my case which he had already had foresight of even before the verdict came out. Following a horrific vehicle accident, my nephew received the harshest possible charges for an event that we felt was not deserving of such excessive retaliation by the state. He was assigned a public defender who, while good-natured and good-willed, seemed increasingly incapable of doing more for my nephew than simply going through the motions and hoping for some good luck. I decided that I needed to help get a more determined and effective attorney. I had some contacts and got numerous recommendations for "the best" attorneys in Phoenix. Most did not even bother to respond to my inquiries. Someone recommended Marci Kratter, and after reading her statement of purpose and values on her website, I felt we had found the right lawyer for my nephew. I asked her to look at the case and give it to me straight. She responded that this was a terrible situation made more terrible by the egregiousness of the charges against my nephew and that she felt certain she could help. She offered to split her fee with another attorney, Larry Kazan, who was an expert in handling vehicular cases. The result of their efforts was a drastically reduced sentence deal for my nephew, one much more commensurate with what had actually occurred. Larry Kazan shredded the testimony of the state's accident reconstruction agent, proving that much of the charge against my nephew was based on inaccurate and misleading assumptions. His reputation was more than lived up to. He and Marci Kratter were tireless in their defense, massively effective, and generous with both their time and their approach to financial matters. I cannot recommend him sufficiently to match his expertise.

Barry helped me to save my son's life. He so well represented him in our legal case; but, that was only a part of his excellence. He helped my son to survive with his knowlege of psychology , his compassion, caring and support, so my son did not act on his suicide thoughts. Barry helped him to maintain his drug sobriety through an incredibly difficult and painful legal case. My son was suicidal from the angst of this case which required my son to look back at his years of child abuse and then into his past drug addiction. The police wanted me to come in, Joel picked up the phone, talked with the officer and came along with me. Joel cleared one of his typically busy days and met with me and the officer. Bryan and Lindsey are absolutely awesome. He's my husband's attorney and has been fighting tooth and nail to get him much less time than what the judge wants to give him. He's so experienced and much more so than the one that we hired prior, and knew about certain things that even the DA didn't know about when it came to getting a specific DA off of the case. If you are in trouble, this guy is your golden ticket. My husband is doing 16 months in jail instead of 1 1/3-3 or 4-7 yrs. He is also taking care of his parole matter. If you are in trouble and can afford a good attorney (he is NOT cheap by any means), then this is the guy you need to call.

Elizabeth Franklin Best is an outstanding attorney. Betsy more than lived up to her qualifications and reputation! I knew from the initial phone call that she was the one.
She was honest and direct. She did not over-promise or confuse us. She listened and explained the options. She developed a strategy and followed it through. Elizabeth was thorough and did the leg work necessary to get my Uncle out of prison after serving 19 years of a 480-month sentence. She kept us informed of the progress and the outcome was Amazing! My son was sentenced 50 years in SCDC at 19 years old and devastated the whole family, because he never should have been sentenced that harshly. Mr. Gilmore is a ex student of my parents so it was a “no brainer” when it came to who we should hire! I had a pretty lengthy criminal history and when this all happened I was “living right”!! I had changed my life completely around! I was on nueces county’s top ten most wanted because I got indicted almost 3 years after being charged with possession of a controlled substance. My family member was accused of a crime near Lubbock Tx and incarcerated . He was beaten and sent to the hospital while in police custody. They had no proof and no witnesses whatsoever and he was humiliated just because he was illegal. Cynthia took our case and within a month all charges were dropped and deported. She's the best!
