I can only say, with all my heart, thank you very much! I came to see Attorney Marilyn Colon's after having hired two different attorneys who I felt were not representing me to their best extent.
On the first visit, I saw how professional attorney Colon was and as well as her team. She was surprised by the situations in my case and I remember her reassuring words; "You are a good father and you will have time that you deserve with your daughter."
She took all of my information about my case and started working right away. The first thing she did was send several friendly proposed agreements to the opposing attorney to avoid unnecessary expenses and as to not continue wasting time. This showed me that she was an honest professional and that she did not want to take my case just for the money. She knew the other attorney very well so she organized a great defense for my case.

I hired Mr. Wade to expedite my divorce after being with an ill-prepared attorney for 1 1/2 years in which I didn't get past the discovery stage. I got quick results with Mr. Wade and my divorce was finalized after 4 months. His support staff quickly responded to all my emails and returned my calls. Mr. Wade is very experienced and knowledgeable and found an error in a filing by my ex-spouse's attorney and took immediate action on her behalf which saved me money and didn't prolong the divorce proceedings. He is involved in all the cases in his firm. Every Wednesday he conducts a meeting with his associate attorneys to consult and monitor their progress and provides them with his expert advice when necessary. Hopefully, I won't need Mr. Wade in the future but if I do, I would retain his services again because I was very pleased with his work and professionalism.

Robin Beattie...best Lawyer for family law. I never had to retain her. I "consulted" with her about 4-5 times over a couple years on how to proceed with my ex. She didn't want me to waste my funds because she knew I was a single parent only receiving $150/month child support. She didn't just teach me the law and help me represent myself to the courts, she taught me how to speak and present myself in a way the courts will listen. She helped me to stand strong and keep fighting for my girls. Which I did. In the end I had a Decision Maker dismissed, a Child Investigation Report thrown out that stated they should live with their Dad and, the best part, standing up to a narcissistic and abusive person defeated him and he signed over full custody with the snap of my fingers. I'm a shark because of her. I not only won against the ex and the courts, I carried all of the skills I learned from her into my business and day to day life. I might not be a lawyer, but I sure do know the law better than I did. The most important lesson I learned through my time with Robin was that the courts do not care about how you feel. Not at all. They care about the law so you have to speak to them like you're a law book.

When one goes through a divorce, it's easy to let one's emotions drive the train. Robin managed to be completely empathetic to my feelings while still keeping things in perspective as to what ultimately mattered. I think a lot of attorneys stay detached so they can stay professional, or they get too emotionally involved in their clients situation. After reading another great legal answer from Attorney Routledge here on Avvo, I came today to write a review thanking her. Then I saw another similar recent review (from July 2023) saying many of the things I would say; I would recommend you read that review, if available, from July 28, 2023- I fully agree with the author's feedback.
But as for me, I am a paralegal helping my wife with a custody case, as we previously had a disastrous experience with an attorney (someone with a family law "specialist" designation, no less). With that person, we expended significant amounts of money to not only fail in our case but also to largely receive far less valuable insights and good information than received just from reading Attorney Routledge's detailed responses, including her feedback to a handful of our questions.
Based on her thoughtful responses here on Avvo alone it is clear that Attorney Routledge cares about helping people and that she is VERY good at what she does. She is a true family law specialist, someone we would absolutely be happy to be represented by if we were in her geographical area. I would also recommend anyone call her for a consult, if she has time, to clarify issues and get insights for hiring someone in your area. We definitely plan to do this.
Like I said, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND talking to Attorney Routledge; I was self-educated on the family law process the first time my wife went to trial (including after hiring an attorney) and then got my paralegal certification as a result. And I can say Attorney Routledge's answers could serve as a Family Law class in and of themselves.

Tanis is an excellent family attorney. Joseph and his team are incredible. I was dealing with a long distance divorce/custody case, with homeschooled children. I'd had a couple of attorneys, only one of whom actually helped, but then things seemed to fall apart. I needed to make some changes because my children were not doing well.
Our plan hadn't been finalized yet, so time was of the essence.
A few other mommas, in a similar situation, recommended Joe. I consulted with a few attorneys, but none of them were willing to really listen. All of them left me feeling hopeless and very triggered. After years of psychological and emotional abuse, I wasn't in a place to be able to handle those types of attorneys.
Joe was different. He was careful, calm, kind, and compassionate, but still straightforward with no b.s. I felt safe. I think that's what all of us want, really. Joe stayed in communication with me. He didn't leave me hanging. He kept me informed, answered every question, and was patient through all of it. He didn't yell at me (yeah, that has happened before). I originally retained an attorney that came highly recommended from other attorneys in the area. After retaining this attorney, it proved to be the wrong decision due to unresponsiveness and disinterest in my case. I then found Matt Lun through avvo and it could not have been a better experience. Mr. Lun is intelligent and extremely well versed at navigating the divorce process. I feel free. Don't get me wrong, the divorce process was hard, but Matthew was like a beacon navigating me through the process. I highly recommend Marshal and all the legal staff at the Willick Law Group. I hired them to assist me in a complicated family matter and they were simply amazing in their handling of my case. We often forget why it has come to this and lash out at those who are near to us and those whom we have hired to help us. A divorce will bring out the worst of some of the parties involved. I consulted with John initially, and thought I couldn’t afford him. To my dismay, I retained another lawyer who was decent but didn’t safeguard issues the way John had outlined in our initial consultation. Unfortunately, due to lack of prevention in my initial trial proceedings, another motion was filed against me, and I then retained his services. I spent over $10k from not utilizing his advice and suggestions. I could have spent less than half of that, if I would have retained him the first time. I cannot promise you that he can save the world; but he will advise you appropriately. He will not let you indulge in the abyss of desire that will never come to fruition. He and his associate, Tom, were up front and honest about what to expect and predict. I’m pleased with his practice and services. He’s reasonable and down to earth. I'm currently usuing Right lawyers for a child custody case.
I'm a stay at home mom, and my husband is active military,. We live outside the jurisdiction of nevada, but my case is being held there. So I hired RIGHT LAWYERS because of the positive military review.
I have had two retainers. One in which was smooth, informative, knowledgeable, and kept me up to date on all decisions made with approval on my behalf. (Laura) Nothing was done unless it was ran and throughly discussed by/with me (as law intends). I FULLY enjoyed the service. I paid 3,500$ and I felt it was well spent for everything Laura did. (She spoke a language I could understand, let me know I hired her to do a job, and my goals and intrest were top priority. She had an open line of communication and understood these cases can be very stressful and draining. She kept me informed EVERY step of the way. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.
Then theres the new retainer.... (theres a previous 1 star review on here, and I'm experiencing the EXACT same things although I've agreed to pay the money asked of me)
The military community has even come together to help fundraise for my cause for "keeping military family's together" both in vegas in alaska. So that my family doesnt go without the basics. ( we sold most our belongings to meet the needs of our case financially and have been recognized for our efforts) All I am asking is for RIGHT LAWYERS to do is the services I've agreed to pay with my families best interest in mind. Without threats that would cause undue hardship, pressure, and unusual demands.
