Because of Amanda Porter I had a good divorce! Divorce can be confusing, I appreciated her patience, explaining each step until I understood.
I also enjoyed her sense of humor.
At the completion of my divorce I had her do my will and several other documents.

I have struggled with finding the right attorney for years hired 3 others before I found Mr. Thomas. He got me my divorce in under a year! This was no easy task my ex had his brother defending him so he had the luxury of no attorney fees and I have 3 children. I was always getting threatened by the other party to take my money , but Bruce was there there to let them know they had no grounds and I felt like I had someone on my side for the first time. Divorce is not any easy thing but having an attorney like Bruce made a little bit better. I am also using his services for child custody and again he is doing an excellent job of making sure my child’s welfare is being protected.

I was charged with a DUI and looking at a record and possible jail time. Mr. Thomas was able to step in with only one day to prepare, discover evidence, and represent me in court. With his ability to put together the pieces of that night, and understand the conflict from my point of view he was able to successfully defend my rights as a citizen. When the verdict of not guilty was rendered I was more than happy with Bruce's service and would recommend his experience and expertise in DUI cases to anyone!

I had been dealing with a prolonged mediated divorce process that was nearing 3 years when Sandy came on and took my case (following the retirement of my previous attorney - yes it took THAT long lol). Sandy picked right up where my previous attorney left off and was extremely proactive in closing out the open items and communicating with my ex's lawyer (who was very difficult to deal with). I had a different attorney for a year and three months and my divorce was just dragging on and on. Based upon a friends recommendation I hired Ms. Lomenzo and the divorce was resolved in a month and a half. Ms. Lomenzo always responded promptly via email, telephone or zoom. Explained things very well. Effective when dealing with opposing counsel.

I hired Kristen in 2008 when I filed for divorce. She led the fight in the complicated mess that I was involved in due to multiple businesses and real estate holdings that my X and I had acquired. My 85 year old Father and I live in Pennsylvania. We had a family member who lived in Tennessee with which we needed to bring legal action against. I made numerous phone calls to several Attorneys in different locations. Ms. Lane was recommended by 3 different individual Attorneys as the person who would be best for handling our situation. We ended up retaining Ms. Lane after consulting with her about our problem. Ms. Lane and her staff dealt with all the difficulties that come with having out of state clients with the utmost patience and professionalism. She arranged for my elderly Father to testify by phone so he would not have to travel. I traveled down from Pennsylvania to testify at the hearing. When it came time for Court, I found Melanie to be prepared, professional,and quite frankly, absolutely tenacious! We were awarded 100% of everything we asked for and I didn't even have to testify! I would absolutely hire Ms. Lane again if I ever had another Legal issue in Tennessee. On a scale of 1 to 10.....My Father and I would give her a resounding 10! My partner and had our children ripped from us without warning. It was a complicated and not a common case for any attorney - especially in a conservative state and city like Houston, TX. The odds were stacked up against us from the moment our children were taken away from our home by the other party. One lawyer we consulted with told us straight up and forward, " You will not win. She will win; but you can try and give it a shot". This partcular lawyer had 25 years experience in family law. Needless to say, we were not surprised. We understood this case wasn't for any everyday lawyer. Our case required a skilled, talented, and confident lawyer. A lawyer with a combination of experience and natural ability and skills set to work this case.
From the moment we initally spoke to Ashley, we knew she was the one!
Ashley took a complicated, unique and challening case that most lawyers would shy away from. Ashley said it would not be easy, but believed we could win our fight for our girls.

Ok I just read the previous review titled "Don't Fall for It" and it's completely false.
Sarah is an amazing lawyer who deeply cares about all her clients and who's law firm is client-centered and focuses on all aspects of your case. As her client, I was provided with frequent updates about my case and always treated with kindness and respect. Sarah is honest with you about your case, and sometimes that's hard to deal with, especially in family law matters. But Sarah knows she has to "tell you like it is" so you are prepared to deal with the emotional aspects of your case. Sarah and her staff worked hard to ensure that I was well taken care of legally and emotionally by providing me with legal counseling and referring me and my children to a family therapist to handle the emotional roller coaster that a family law case can be. I know some people might get angry because they lose their case, so they blame their lawyer and write a bad review filled with lies and false allegations. That's not fair, especially when you have a lawyer as compassionate and professional as Sarah Keathley. She is the best in the business if you want a lawyer who genuinely cares about her clients and the outcome of her cases. I met with Jere a few months ago, in a simple consultation, and he was fantastic. His knowledge of the law was more than evident, he listened to a pretty complex saga and gave us some terrific advice. He is respectful (which is VERY rare), I felt heard, validated and felt like anyone would be in great hands with him. I interviewed numerous attorneys before I selected Jami. Most of the other attorneys informed me that "men dont win in Travis County - you're going to lose this case." I have been in and out of court with my son's father for the last six years. I had a very unfortunate event with my other infant child (my son's little sister) having a severe chromosomal deficiency which kept her in Texas Children's Hospital in Houston until she passed at 6 months. During that very emotionally weak time my son's father saw an opportunity to take me back to court with a fictitious and fabricated evidence. I was served with papers of the hearing at the Roland McDonald House while my daughter was in the hospital and we had the court hearing one month after my sweet daughter passed. I was literally still in shock and standing in court without any representation. Without the ability to present my case I was unable to provide documentation to disprove the father's false accusations. I had been the primary parent all of my son's life and then in that unprepared moment it was changed over to his father.
So, one month after I lost my daughter in the hospital, I lost custody of my son in court. This created a huge emotional distress on my son's life as he went from only being in preschool two days a week to losing his sister, changing his primary residence to his father, and being placed in full-time daycare for the first time in his life.
I consulted with many lawyers and finally put my complete faith in James "Jake" Gilbreath's Law Firm. Jim Piper is an outstanding attorney. He helped with my divorce and subsequent custody arrangements, and was vital during my trial to modify/terminate custody due to my childrens’ father’s recent involvement with drugs. I found myself in a bind when I met Mark. My previous lawyer grossly neglected my case. My prior lawyer caused me to nearly miss a critical deadline two days away, and wouldn’t even agree to speak with me until after the deadline. Mark jumped in reviewing the details of my case on a Sunday. He gathered the pertinent content i.e. Ohio codes, statutes and case laws, to succinctly file - meeting my deadline the next day!. Mark’s articulate defense resulted in the restoration of my eleven year Parenting Plan: me returning Residential Parent, and reversing Sole Parenting wrongfully given to my Ex-spouse. I usually never write a review or give excellent ratings unless it well worth it. I am not the type of guy that logs on and reviews product or services. This, however, is my exception.
I was in the Marine Corps when Mr. Kirkland took my divorce case in 2012. I needed a lawyer to represent me in court because I could not attend any hearings, due to my military obligations. Mr. Kirkland not only took my case (and even though we didn't have a chance to meet face to face) he was able to fully complete my divorce decree in court.
Fast forward two years later. I had another crazy summons by the ex-wife (figures). Once again I need a lawyer and decided to go back to Mr. Kirkland for legal advice. Not only did he remember me after two years, but he once again took my case and fought for me.
Mr. Kirkland is an excellent lawyer at a reasonable price, and I think the most important part is that, he is military friendly. He always gets back to you and keeps you informed throughout the whole proceedings. To all my military friends out there, I highly recommend him.

Jack Abel was my primary attorney for my divorce and I could not ask for anything more.
Jack has been doing family law for 40 years and he knew every dirty trick that would be tried before the other side tried it. He researched the other side's attorney, knew that attorney would be super aggressive, and he basically judo'ed them to make them look unreasonable (they were unreasonable) which made the other side almost weak in negotiating.
I felt like we were a step ahead of the other side every step of the way - Jack would tell me when to bring pictures in, when to bring family in, when to look my tip top best, what the hangups were and how we would handle them - he knew where we wanted to go, and he got us there a step ahead the entire time.
Jack is a soft spoken man, slow to speak and eager to listen, a real example of wisdom. As quiet as Jack is, he has a team of absolute pitbulls around him - they go in and do the negotiations during the phase when nobody wants to give an inch, then every few sessions he would come in, a 40 year legend in the courthouse, and make an offer that the other side just couldn't refuse - and we would land exactly where he said we would. It was the perfect dichotomy and the results speak for themselves.
At settlement, I had talked to my ex in private and walked back a few of the concessions that Abel and Zocolo had gotten for me. I was so satisfied that I actually gave up ground, which meant I got everything that I wanted AND was able to part ways amicably from a tough battle. A truce which lasts to this day - and was worth the give back in spades. It would not have been
possible without that aura of quiet power that followed Jack when he walked into a room. The type of lawyers the other side had would have run over any average attorney - Jack was really the difference that made them know things would not go well with their unreasonable demands if they actually went into a full hearing. I won't even say some of what Jack told me - but this man has handshake power in Cleveland.
Jack, Lori and the entire Team at Abel and Zocolo are everything a great team of lawyers should be - and they actually cared about me as a person, they listened to my story, and they adjusted their tactics to leverage my strengths - and it worked perfectly. My divorce was 5 years ago, and I still talk to Jack, Lori and Lisa several time a year to this day - and he refuses to send me a bill, they actually want to know how things are going, just
good people.
I can't say enough about the quality of Jack and the Team at AZ Law. I would't just use them again - I'd never use anybody else.
