My experience with my divorce was not that bad. It was not a typical divorce. It was very amicable. But I am the exception to the rule. I am certain if you are going through a divorce process it will not be as friendly as mine.
Laura Grumbine (my attorney) and Kate Koscheski (Paralegal) made this life event as smooth as possible.
Kate regularly updated me with the status of my case and made requests of any documents needed. She also was there to remind me if I forgot (which happens too often) or ommited anything.
Divorce is never an easy process for anyone. Laura made sure I stayed focused and helped me achieve a settlement outcome that I was pleased with.

It is now about 10 years since Attorney Steiner handled a divorce and custody case for our family. Without her thorough knowledge of legal theory and unwavering pursuit of pertinent evidence a child's life would have been subjected to very unfortunate circumstances. She made us feel that our case was the most important matter she was handling. She has a relationship with the court and related legal entities that give her an advantage over her opponents. She doesn't recognize the words "giving in" and has only one goal, to win.

I am currently in a very heated child custody case. Jessica keeps me calm and in good spirits. She has a very good handle on the case and I know she has my son in her best interest. I have been working with Family Law Attorney, Tali Collins, for 2 years, and she is by far the best attorney that I have worked with for ongoing family law litigation. She is very approachable, knows her legal material, is detail- orientated, has an amazing memory, knows lots of helpful resources and her fees are very reasonable.
I have worked with many attorneys who have similar skills, but want you to hire them and are not great with working with the client that wants to self represent. Because I don't have the financial resources for a retainer, Ms. Collins has worked with me in preparing legal documents, preparing for hearings, and organizing and finding exhibits. She knows what individual judges want, so I feel like I am ahead of the game and know what to expect and how to prepare when I go to the hearing.

I got a summons to show up to court to get the child support raised as my daughter lived with her mother, BUT in an insane turn of events, thanks to Alex not only did I end up with FULL CUSTODY OF MY DAUGHTER, the mother paid for a great deal of the fees.
Yes, you read right, with my hand raised to the lord, if it wasn’t for Alex, I’d be watering dollar bills in the ground right now.
I live outside of state and she took on my case on, Alex took care of just about everything, so much so, that at times I’d forget I was going through rough times in my life.
On my flight back home from Chicago, as my daughter slept in the seat next to me, I looked at her, and I asked myself in my head, did that just happened, yes, yes it did, and I pictured Alex giving me a thumbs up with her smile. YOU can have this moment too.

Amanda represented me for a moving violation and, from the start, I was willing to make the fastest deal I could. At the onset, she insisted that I was shooting too low and should would work to the bitter end, never give up, and make a much better arrangement than i had expected. And she DID. Of equal importance, the arranged and very reasonable fee would have been the same if she agreed to my concept or what she fought for in the end. That is, she made no extra money, and in fact she lost valuable time by insisting on continuing and fighting on my case. She stayed in constant contact, before and after each appearance and I never had to ping her for a status update. I, my family, and my friends (if they take my sage advise) will use her in all legal matters, routine and other.

Robyn is the penultimate divorce attorney. She's sharp, insightful, logical, and reasonable, utilizing diplomacy when appropriate and proactive litigation when bargaining options have been exhausted. While no one wants to have to hire a family law attorney unfortunately sometimes it is necessary. If you find yourself in the position of needing a family law attorney I HIGHLY recommend Kelly Rizzo. I hired her back in December of 2016 for a custody dispute with my ex husband. She was absolutely amazing. Kelly was on top of everything at every turn. She always clearly explained my options to me before we proceeded with anything. The billing was fair and always very well documented. If I had any sort of question I could ask her through the online portal or call and she always made sure to answer my questions very efficiently. Kelly Rizzo wasn't the first lawyer I contacted but she was my first consult which ultimately led to my hiring her. Our time together was always well spent and coordinated with every detail taken into account to insure the best possible outcome in my divorce. I wanted to leave a review, because I feel grateful for what John and his team have accomplished for me. I don't ever leave online reviews, but I felt like I needed to because of what has transpired. Many years ago I hired John to handle my child support arrears case. After many months of hell and trying to show evidence of payments, John was able to win the case and have my arrearage expunged. Now just recently I had to hire John again for modification to my divorcee decree. After meeting with John and going over what was needed for change, he put together a plan for me and help me get the appropriate changes. We never made it to court because John worked it out with my ex through mediation. We got what was needed for change, and I couldn't be more happy. John is not only a great lawyer, but I now consider him a friend. I feel like he really cares about his clients, and will work for you to get the best results. I have had the opportunity to work with several attorneys, and John Haugen is, by far, the most ethical and knowledgable attorney I've had. I think so highly of him that I recommended him to friends and they all have praised him. The word several friends used was "compassionate."

I hired Mr. Merritt to represent me in my divorce. As scary as a situation as divorce can be, Mr. Merritt was very knowledgeable and professional from the start. He patiently walked me through the process (multiple times) which can be very confusing to someone who isn't familiar with legal jargon. He fought tooth and nail for what I was entitled to and what was in the best interest of the child involved.
