Never met a more disrespectful group dedicated to upholding an embarrassing, collective god-complex. A disgrace to our town. Shame on you for acting so heinously on such a special weekend for the families of our lovely community simply out of spite and in protection of your spineless, childish, and deplorable ego. Disgusting.

terribly rude staff, gives you the run around constantly, the attorney Thomas Sellers will even interrupt and hang up on you when you’re trying to clarify the debt and what you’re needing. I was told to further my “reading comprehension” and that he “doesn’t care” about my questions. He proceeded to tell me how good I had it with the debt, even though we’re still negotiating it. You sure would think they could answer some questions in trade of a 1 lump sum payment. He went on to explain how I could get around the $3000 court fee, yet any other basic question I asked, I was talked over or told that’d be legal advice.

His name is no longer on the sign, but I met with him several times six years ago and 2 weeks ago at this office.  Joe Liccardi is a crook.  Six years ago he took $500 from my boyfriend to file a will and provided me a signed copy along with the receipt for receiving $500 cash, and kept the original in the office.  I was there when the will was signed.  Upon his passing last month I contacted and met with Joe with the copy he gave me in hand.  Not only did Joe act as if we had never met, he also denied having the original will, which I witnessed him telling one of his assistants to "file (it) and shred the old one (will)" on the very same day it was signed, witnessed, notarized, provided me a copy and received $500 cash.  My boyfriend and I were both there.  He did NOT provide us the original, if he did  what would be the point of providing us a copy?  How can they not have it in their files?  My signed copy lists Joe as the executor, how can he not have it? Everyone knows the standard rule is to keep all files for at least seven years?  Now my daughter, NOT  me is being robbed of her inheritance.  Something Shady is  going on.  I'm currently in the process of probating my father's estate with another firm, this is not foreign territory for me.  Please don't insult my intelligence.  Please take your business elsewhere.

I tried to hire the services of this firm regarding a contract dispute with a large business. Just looking to pay for basic legal representation and assistance, but could not get past the person who answered the phone. It was obvious that my phone call was an inconvenience as she was determined not to provide any assistance: "I REALLY don't think our attorneys can help in this type of legal matter."

Robert Steele has already sued me once for 7,000 of unpaid medical bills. He is now going after my boyfriend for a hospital bill from 2011. The hospital is closed and the bill is over 10 years old. On top of all this I was diagnosed with breast cancer so my boyfriend is the only one getting a paycheck right now. . He makes just over minimum wage. We can barely afford food and every cent goes to bills and medical coverage. This shark is garnishing his wage. Thanks steele

People are correct, nobody answers the phone. I have tried many times making a payment. Nobody returns calls. Rarely. I'm trying to work with these people. They need to return calls. They need to leave messages. I understand you guys have a job to do. Called customer service. Why be rude to the ones actually trying here.

Now we lost the case and it's very hard to over turn. He has promised to return our money in payments. First check was denied by the bank. And now he says I forgot. I have the emails to prove it.

Had a completely horrible experience with Natalie. Paid her $10,000 never met her nor did she handle any of our case. We paid all that money just to have to go to court alone and handle the case by ourselves. Definitely not an attorney I would recommend for anyone to use unless you just want to give money away.

This attorney has no idea how to argue a case! This lady said um and uh during the attire case. This individuals mailbox and office is at a ups store in cedar hill. She has no home office and her augments in court were very beginner. Her courtroom presence was nonexistent and she sounded very ignorant on what the case was about. She did not file the case paperwork properly and waisted 11,000 plus dollars only for us to get to court and lose the case. (We only lost due to her wasting the time allowed to prove the case and she never proved the case or got to present evidence from client..it was embarrassing to watch) She should be disbarred for the lives she ruined. She’s the worst attorney in the DFW area and I’m shocked she even passed the bar. God will pay her for her miss deeds

I hired Dave Tracy to evict a tenant of mine. He is very hard to reach he doesn't keep you updated and doesn't give you any information. He won't return phone calls and or emails but if he does decide to he will charge you 75$ for every email and phone call. Just to get my 3 day pay or vacate out I was already at $1,300.00 well the day we had court we all showed up and he submitted the paper work wrong and we didn't get on the calendar. This delayed my eviction process by 1 month if we tried to redo the process, so he chose to try and work a deal in the hallway with my tenant. The deal he worked up let her stay in my house till the 25th of the month and waived my rights to put it on her credit and any rights to ever go after her for back rent, late fees and attorney fees. After being their for 6 hours I felt backed into a corner he messed up my paper work and I had 2 choices to get her out on the 25th or go threw the process again I wanted out of their so she's moving on the 25th. Keep in mind if he would have done his paper work correctly she would have been out next week and I'd have a judgment for close to $10,000 against these people now I have nothing. I ask him if he would lower his cost since he made a huge mistake he said no I asked for his malpractice insurance he said no and hung up on me. I wouldn't recommend anyone use this guy he's not a good attorney. Huge waste of money and time and made my first eviction a horror story.

If I could give a lower review I would. They never answer the phone for you so you can make a payment and they won’t fix their payment portal so you can’t make a payment online. Don’t bother leaving a voicemail because they won’t call you back. Spoke to one representative and told them how difficult it is to get a payment placed and they said “We reserve our professionalism for our clients. Not the people who owe us money”. The money I owe them is from medical bills that were sent to them two months after my hospital visit even with making payments.

For starters, you cannot reach them in person, they never pick up the phone and rarely respond to emails in a timely fashion. This HOA law firm is highly unprofessional and unethical. To set up a simple payment plan, they're asking for deeply personal information without justification. The person requesting this information hasn't even confirmed they are a U.S. citizen and appears to be of East Indian descent. I keep questioning why they're demanding such sensitive personal and financial information (PHI/PII) when I don't even know who I'm dealing with. The level of detail they're asking for isn't even required for government security clearance, yet I'm expected to provide it for a basic HOA payment agreement. This is incredibly risky for my personal security because of the kind of investigative work I do myself for the US Gov. It's concerning because this individual already has access to my deed, public records, and address, but is still opting to ask me for my personal bank account details, social security number, sensitive Job information and more. This seems highly unethical and raises serious concerns about the potential misuse of my personal information. An for those that are not aware, yes America allows foreign nationals to work on paralegal and legal cases remotely as lawyers so just because someone is in the legal dept. asking you for all this information does not mean they are US Citizens and safe to trust providing your PHI/PII info, this could easily become a potential violation of privacy laws, depending on the specific circumstances and the jurisdiction you are in the US.

This law firm is predatory and operates in bad faith. In September of last year my mother passed away. She missed several HOA payments at the end of that year because she was sick in the hospital and unable to make them. The following year, her case was referred to Cameron Mericle for collection. I completely understand that and have no problem with it. As soon as I learned of these missed payments, I reached out to Cameron Mericle to arrange payment ASAP and get this cleared up. I took this very seriously and made a very reasonable effort to pay what was owed in a timely manner. I requested the late fees be waived as these were exigent circumstances. I spoke with a woman named Katelyn Howard who assured me that because I had called in to clear it up, there would be no further charges or action on the account as she worked with the HOA to get the late fees waived. She was very professional and understanding during this phone call. To be clear, it would be perfectly fine if they could not be waived. It was simply a request. I was always eager to pay what was owed and get this resolved ASAP. Kate never reached out to me to follow up and over a month passed. I reached back out to find out what was going on and when I finally got a hold of them, they informed me that I now owed almost $1500 dollars extra in legal filing fees and accrued interest because the balance had not been paid. I did not pay the balance because I was specifically told not to as I waited for them to communicate with the HOA to get the late fees waived. Not only did they not do that, but they refused to communicate and charged me almost 4x the amount of what was actually owed because of the time that had passed while I waited for them to respond to me. I was specifically told to wait even though I wanted to pay off the balance. This is incredibly predatory behavior. I would have gladly paid on time but was specifically told not to so they could try to scam me out of more money than was actually owed. Do not trust anything this company says. Get your own lawyer and resolve the issue with your HOA. I have documentation of all of this and will be reporting it to the appropriate authorities. I can't believe the depravity of the people working here. They are the scum of the Earth. They took advantage of the death of my mother to try to scam me. That's completely unacceptable behavior. The positive reviews of this company come from staff members who declare that most of the negative reviews are simply irate people who are delinquent on what they owe and are venting. Perhaps that is true in some cases. However, this is not the case with me. Since I first contacted Cameron Mericle I was respectful, and very committed to paying the outstanding balance on the account in a timely manner. I made very reasonable efforts to resolve this as fast as I could in compliance with their directions. In response, they lied to me and tried to take advantage of me while I was grieving. I really hope the people working here are able to search their soul and come to terms with their place in the world. Beware

Won't return calls are the least of your worries with this attorney. LITERALLY charged 3 times what other attorneys cost and when you need to speak to him, you might receive a call days later from an assistant who doesn't know anything either. Will offer suggestions that aren't applicable. The absolute worst experience I've ever encountered with a lawyer. Nightmare. Feels somewhat like he's not your attorney but rather extension of the prosecutions office.

I hired Phil Castrovinci for my custody/adjust child support trial. It cost me approximately $30,000, plus I was forced to pay the OPPOSING lawyer $7,500 on top of the $30,000 at the end. The Judge wrote us saying, “Defendant (my ex) included a Statement of Net Worth for the Court’s consideration, which gave a more comprehensive picture of the Defendant’s financial circumstances. Plaintiff (me) did not include a Statement of Net Worth which limited the Court’s examination of his financial circumstances. Accordingly, the Court shall award of counsel fees in the sum of $7.500.00 payable by Plaintiff to Defendant.” Not only was I refused custody of my 14 year old son, who was begging to live with me, I was somehow forced to pay over $10,000 in ‘retro’ child support when I had paid, in full and on time, what I was required to by law up until the trial. I sat in court and watched my ex and her lawyer commit perjury by telling lies to The Court, under oath. Sitting in court I had, in my hands, proof they were lying and Phil’s response was, “It doesn’t matter”. The evidence was not presented to the Judge and I got nothing out of this case except a large amount of debt and disappointment. As stated by other reviewers, you’ll be promised the moon and don’t hold your breath waiting for return calls/e-mails. When I was fortunate enough to get a rare response from an e-mail or a call, direct/specific questions that I had asked were dodged. The ‘glowing’ reviews here seem to completely contradict my experience, along with multiple others. On Google reviews, I see that a family member left a 5-star review for Phil’s associate. It make we wonder about the validity of these positive reviews. Hire at your own risk!!!

Priscilla A. Vaagen was the attorney for the other party in a child custody case. She ghosted my attorney every time we had issues. It was ordered through the court that any time I wanted a UA from my ex all I had to do was request it. Priscilla never made sure they were completed. She would not send the answers to my Motions causing me to get 6 continuances because she either did not show up for the hearings or she was not prepared. That cost me double money since I still had to pay for my attorney. Then she decided she no longer would represent my ex so we are on hold waiting for her to get another attorney. We have been in the court with this case for 18 months and it is still not resolved due to her incompetence. Run ... don't walk away from this attorney.

Mr. Nicholas J Bachand accomplished nothing besides draining our bank account in order to bring more money to the Lucido Law Firm. When I first met with him during the initial free consult he was very interested in explaining his fees than gathering details of my case. Right on the spot after about five minutes in the conversation he asked me If I wanted to pursue my case and charged me a $1500 retainer. After $1500, it was a $1000 then $500 and continuing on. He did not accomplish any positive changes in court but instead was very smart on canceling meetings and/or postponing hearings in order to charge more fees. After 2-3 trips to the court I realized that I chose the worst lawyer in that firm, and that he was so incompetent with no knowledge of the law. He also was giving confidential information to the opposite lawyer and when in court I was paying him to chat with the other lawyer or to be the referees assistant. We would agree on certain conditions and compromises in the case but when in court he would state another decision, leaving me clueless on what to say in front of judge/referee. He was rude, not available and a waste of money. I guess he only has the word "lawyer" on his diploma that he has in his pseudo office. His skills as a lawyer were horrible, he seemed like a messenger boy, an extremely expensive crappy one. I was keeping my promise and always paid him when I received his invoices (actually overpaid the amount owed-He would charge me to the stamp placed on the envelope REALLY??).I would receive communication and invoices of other clients (with all of their personal and case information: where is the PRIVACY LAW here); in his defense he would tell me that his secretary was guilty for those incidents. I then decided to take matters in my own hands due to his terrible attitude and laziness. I told him he was fired, and after my paid in full balance I ended up receiving more charges for hours never worked, but in his own sneaky and fraud ways he accomplished to find some forgotten charges. Unless you like squandering money and not getting any tangible results that you could have gotten for the price of Fake Lawyer, the ones you find on TV, I would NOT RECOMMEND him, EVER., not even to my worst enemy. He is horrible as a person and as a lawyer.

The lawyer we dealt with at this firm, Nicholas J Bachand, was a complete waste of a nearly a thousand dollars. He accomplished nothing but the draining our bank account. We were referred to him by the Macomb County Bar association, big mistake. Seems that they only give the name of somebody near you, not a recommendation. We could have easily made a better choice by picking somebody at random out of the phone book. When I first met with him during the initial free consult I thought he seemed like a real jerk. My wife said that is what we need. The problem is we thought he would be an jerk to person we were in a legal dispute with, not to us. Wrong again Bob. First thing he did was print up a Power of Attorney form letter, and charged us a $500 retainer for doing that. He claimed he had trouble getting in touch with the party we had a dispute with, again another load of baloney. I say this because once I decided to take matters into my own hands I had ZERO trouble getting in touch with them. He charged us for what he said was an attempt to negotiate a lower settlement. His negotiation amounted to "my client is willing pay this". That isn't a negotiation, that's being a messenger boy, an extremely expensive crappy one. He called after we cut contact with him because we decided to take matters in our own hands due to his terrible attitude and laziness. I told him he was fired, and lo and behold he charged us to fire him. Unless you like squandering money and not getting any tangible results that you could have gotten for the price of a Legal Zoom Legal Form Letter, I would hardily not recommend him, EVER. This is my opinion, I suggest you heed it.

Man was so rude he couldn't wait to get off the phone and didn't listen to what I was saying before I finished saying it, two sentences. I asked him a basic procedural question that he said he couldn't answer unless he reviewed my entire case. Whether you can file an appeal in bankruptcy is universal and procedural, it doesn't change "depending on your case". don't waste money on these idiots, they can only lose for you.

I retained Matthew J. Webb to represent my company as a creditor in a bankruptcy case. It was a slam dunk case, yet he still filed the wrong documents, missed the statute of limitations and almost got my company and I sanctioned. I had to hire a new attorney who could not fix Matt's mistakes. As a result my company lost over $10,000.

Matt took us all the way to trial and won. Many times my family wondered whether the painful litigation, lasting several years, was worth the effort. This process is full of grief. In our instance, the defendant was held in contempt by the court for refusing to appear, show cause or produce records. Our litigation involved fraud by concealment in a commercial real estate transaction & a substantial amount of money - $100's of thousands of dollars. In the 1st instance, the court charged the defendant w/ contempt and fined him $50. $50 bucks ! That's less than a parking ticket. I think the 2nd contempt of court penalty was $75 bucks. The 3rd was a few hundred dollars. How the defendant could thumb his nose at the court & get away with this was a disheartening experience. Regardless, Matt took us all the way to a bench trial where the defendant was finally judged and found guilty of fraud. Without Matt's calm & confident demeanor my family would have given up because of what we perceived as the futility of the process. Matt is a great attorney who will go to trial if necessary.

Provides straight forward Bankruptcy services only. If you are having difficulties with your lender, this attorney can not help you. We came very close to losing our home literally by the skin of our teeth. We were so frustrated, that we sought the help of a different attorney who is well versed in Mortgage Law. Our new attorney saved our home by obtaining a very affordable loan modification that protects us for the next 24 years and he got us clean out of bankruptcy with our debts dismissed.

BEWARE!!!! Amy Eddy is a high priced attorney, staff misspelled my name on initial filing of probate documents, Amy doesn't return my emails, phone calls, won't answer my questions but her staff keeps sending my brother invoices for high priced attorney fees. My brother's court documents expired and they have made no progress on closing my Dads estate but attorney Amy Eddy keeps sending my brother her high priced attorneys fees. I feel totally uncomfortable with Amy Eddy handling my Dad's estate. Went to court asked for her to be removed because she isn't helping my brother through the probate process just charging him fees. She won't remove herself because I think she just wants to collect her high priced fees and profit off my deceased Army Veteran father's estate. I will be filing a complaint against her law license with the WI State board of attorneys for attorney misconduct.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.

  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
