These scamming pieces of trash, continuously send me warnings, I've already contacted the city I apparently have a warrant from. No warrant. Already paid YEARS AGO! Yet they continue their scare tactics. There's a special place in hell for companies like this. Just wait when I get to actually talk to someone, whatever nonexistent god they believe in better protect them that day.

Been a homeless Vet for the past 5 years. Finally in the final steps of buying a home. (This has to come off for approval) I save up all of my money for a whole year to pay off a collection. I send the money and almost 2 months later I call Navy Federal and still they haven't sent the payment over to them. Effectively making me homeless again. Thanks for the sense of urgency I was very polite and I noticed and something was off the whole time.

I was late 3 times I get almost done with paying off my debt and this company wants to say I have defaulted on my payments..... Moeller Graf is top tier attorneys with the entire firm. I would highly suggest any association to subscribe to their services. David Parker & Christian Webert are always available when I need legal advice or explanation of condo declarations. Alexis Frick is amazing at collections process for delinquent accounts and very responsive. Brittany and Ashley go above and beyond with customer service. I would say the names above are a huge asset to this firm and I plan to never loose this ongoing business connection!

Almost 11 months of constant lies from Chris Finn, and still no settlement, him and Zina have very lackluster communication skills, zero contact that I don't initiate, the buck is passed to anyone but them selves. Yet when I contact whome they are dealing with myself I'm told they haven't heard from my attorney in weeks /months. I will believe an insurance company over a lawyer any day .what lawyer doesn't have an answering service? 90% of my calls are answered with ringing till the line hangs up, and a response is always met with it's such and such I'm waiting for.."I called 3 times today and they haven't responded to me" , his exact words . I'm about to be homeless because these so-called amazing attorneys can't do the job they are being paid for. Go elsewhere , over priced firm full of lazy incompetent liars.

Deborah Perry and her staff are extremely unprofessional, argumentative, aggressive, and discriminatory. I visited the law office on behalf of their client because they refused to answer the numerous phone calls I made. When I visited the office in person, the front desk assistant was automatically defensive. She told me verbatim that “we don’t work on your schedule”. She then began to verbally accost me and threatened to kick me out after I respectfully requested to have a meeting with Deborah. Avoid this law office and Deborah at all costs. I hired Elizabeth Rivera as my attorney for a complicated lawsuit, involving more than one party and including a corporation. As most people realize, the wheels of justice run slow. Covid interrupted my cases. However, even after all that, Elizabeth amazed me on many occasions. It was as if she had perfect recall of the details of all aspects of the case and quickly zoomed in on discrepancies by various parties. In court, she was professional, skilled and very prepared. I am happy with the results. In every aspect of the case I could win, I did. In the one aspect of the case that through no fault of Elzabeth I lost, Elizabeth's amazing court skills, used to argue against the outlandish attorney fees that the other side tried to make me pay, won me a favorable ruling. Do I recommend Elizabeth Rivera to others? Absolutely! Will I use her again, if needed? Absolutely! Do I have anything negative to say about her or any of her staff? NO!

We recieved a letter from Consumer Law attorneys which suggested I was behind on mortgage payments and I was in foreclosure. After checking with my mortgage holder, it was determined that I had been sent a false document suggesting I was in foreclosure. This company is obviously preying upon individuals who believe that they are in dire straights financially. This company should be investigated by a state attorney general, in order to prevent moe victimization. Shame on you! I also have not hired or consulted them. They wouldnt connect me to Arther A Luger esq. , whom I highly doubt is an actual lawyer. Please dont fall victim to this scam.

They will twist the story around and let you do a very very long maximum sentence in prison over a very very very serious accusation that was so dam false to begin with. Even a dummy could read the fine print and have common sense. Beware! Just keep it moving and hire yourself a real good professional. But…“Instead they should be called the criminals and of the state for allowing such behavior of a dirty trial from the officers, detectives, to the jury and then to the judge….not to mention the cross examiners and cross examination they did was very questionable how can you allow such verdict without sufficient evidence let alone a minor was interviewed without permission of a parent. They will violate your constitutional rights from left to right but they will fight to keep themselves standing innocent at the cost of what?? An innocent man’s life. I’m sure this isn’t the first time they do something this dirty but I do believe more proper investigation shall be given in any case given that will jeopardize someone’s impeccable life…to be exact this all happened in the city of Montgomery County Texas to be Exact….

Hired him for an Ejectment case, explaining to him I specifically needed an appeal, rejects this claiming one isn’t needed even though I explained to him the prior judges ruling. I lost my case and the judge explained the same reason why only an appeal could’ve helped me but I missed the deadline due to his opinion. Then when the judge explained the ruling all he could tell me was he wasn’t the prior attorney. If you want to lose go with Louis Johnson. If I had two more hands I’d give him 4 thumbs down

Do NOT hire him. They take your money and initially lead you to believe you will be reasonably represented. His law clerk Karla is the mouthpiece. They are horrible at communicating; they come up with random excuses for not being in touch or responding to my emails - my favorite- “our server was down”. when asked why they couldn’t text or call - useless apologies. Don’t waste your money. I’m filing a complaint against him with the Huson County Bar Association and the State Bar, requesting they remove this firm from the attorney referral service. I trusted them to refer a reputable attorney . They took my money like white collar thugs, and didnt deliver. If I could give a negative star rating - I would.

What an awful experience. My teenage son was assaulted by his father and Prairie State agreed to represent me (us) in a modification of visitation. My son was very traumatized by what had happened and felt traumatized again after this. Not ONCE, not EVER, did the attorney agree to meet us in person. It would take many days, or sometimes a week or longer, to even get a return call. Court date after court date the attorney NEVER, NOT ONCE, showed up in court! This went on for MONTHS. The Prairie State attorney would just “ counsel” me over the phone as to what to say or do…..and that is IF I was lucky enough to even get a call back. The attorneys “ counseling “ advise was pretty much useless, as my ex’s attorney was there and would frequently object to me speaking because I wasn’t phrasing something correctly. Even the judge asked me where our representation was at and why was she not there. Thank goodness that the advocates were there to at least give my son and I some emotional support and could try to make recommendations after each court appearance. I would say easily that half of the time we would show up to court to find out the other attorney had requested to change the court date…. I was never notified as apparently they were contacting Prairie State as they were the ones who were supposedly representing us. Finally, after MONTHS, of court dates, a modified order was ordered by the judge. HIS attorney agreed to write up the new order since MY attorney was never present in court. Prairie State mailed me a copy of the “modified “ order HIS attorney mailed them…..it included things the judge ordered changed, BUT also other changes NOT ordered by the judge ( things like he won’t be responsible for carrying health insurance on our son any longer, things like that). I called Prairie State right away after getting the modified order and requested a call regarding and explained what the issue was. After a good week or so, the Prairie State attorney called me wanting to know what the problem was. I explained to her IF she would check court records for what the judge ordered against the original order, she would see that his attorney was making other changes not ordered by the judge or approved by me. I never heard from the Prairie State attorney again nor did she return any of my calls after that. Then the Prairie State attorney, after about 2 months, sends me a letter stating that she is considering the case closed for lack of communication with her… what a complete joke! This was by far one the most horrible things that my son or I have ever had to go through … for an attor I’m sure if I had money like my ex and could of afforded to pay money for representation, this experience would of been at least a little less traumatic. Shame on them!

As my review states this attorney is a very smart attorney, but he is very lazy and really unorganized he will lose your evidence because he has no secretary. he will never return your calls until the day before court then he will submit a bill to you that reflects all of this work that he has been doing but it is a lie because he just starts blowing your phone up the night before your court date. he will take all your money and give you no receipts until you ask 100 times then he will throw one together that will eat all of your retainer and reflect that you owe him a couple grand more.....then he will hound you until you pay him then you will not here from him again until the night before court again he is always unprepaired !

I told him he should fix this screw up free of charge ..He focused on the free of charge. I never heard back from him.. I felt like since he didn’t do it right it the first place and I paid him back then that he should fix it free of charge .. I hired a new lawyer that knew what he was doing and he was able to fix the mess this guy left me with.. If you hire him just be warned his screw ups might come back to bite you in the butt later on …He never even apologized !!!!

terribly rude staff, gives you the run around constantly, the attorney Thomas Sellers will even interrupt and hang up on you when you’re trying to clarify the debt and what you’re needing. I was told to further my “reading comprehension” and that he “doesn’t care” about my questions. He proceeded to tell me how good I had it with the debt, even though we’re still negotiating it. You sure would think they could answer some questions in trade of a 1 lump sum payment. He went on to explain how I could get around the $3000 court fee, yet any other basic question I asked, I was talked over or told that’d be legal advice.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
