John was helpful at first however he missed the court date for one of my creditor settlements (giving them an automatic win), he also confused creditors and settled with unsatisfactory terms with another creditor. Overall I felt that he did not give me the time or my issues that concern that they needed. I'm aware that I was not a profitable person for his firm, however that should not change the service that one gets. I would strongly urge anyone dealing with John to think twice.

I contacted Mr. Pavlou for illegitimate law enforcement violence against me. He kept the case in his office and never brought it to trial. The status of limitation was reached and I was not able to sue the County Jail for jail guards beatings on me. This lawyer lied, He made me believe he was working hard on the case but never. He did not say to me he did not want to take the case and that I should find another lawyer. He just kept me waiting for years until I figured out that too many years have passed and that I could not sue the County jail anymore. You should avoid this lawyer. The City was trying to put my corporation (business) out of operation due to a few minor complaints arranged by a former employee and a few members she built a relation with. Mr. Wolkin not only won the case outright, he was also able to require the City of Tucson pay all legal fees we incurred (funds received). He handled other legal matters over the previous years with the same efficiency, aggressiveness and success. He was truly outstanding. Our business relationship continued for years.

This lawyer was representing us in an unlawful foreclosure case. Because he failed to file TRO or the like before the unlawful auction (he said he didn't realize he needed to do so), my home was sold, creating even bigger problems and the new buyers trying to evict us and take possession. He then dropped the case, leaving us to fend for ourselves in a gigantic and overwhelming legal situation that he created.

Highly Skilled, Strong Character, Veteran Experience, Highly Respected within the Legal Field It is with the upmost gratitude that I recommend Eliot G. Bastian, RN, Esq., and his trusted paralegal assistant, Cindy Luken, at the law offices of Caparella-Kraemer and Associates, LLC.! I did not retain Eliot for the purpose of bankruptcy or foreclosure. Instead, I needed to hire an attorney for the protection of my ex-husband’s filing Chapter-13 bankruptcy on our marital assets, including that of “surrounding our home over to the bank.” Eliot was recommended to me by a close friend and confidant. She knew it was imperative that I hire an expert attorney who was savvy about business and financial law. She also knew the importance of hiring an attorney who had strong ethical values and who wasn’t afraid to affirm their sworn legal oath; to uphold the law and protect the client even during the most adversarial times. Eliot Bastian, RN, Esq., is an expert in Business and Bankruptcy Litigation, Healthcare Law, and Criminal Defense. Eliot has successfully managed his career by expanding his network to include that of attorneys outside his cohort. This was an extreme benefit to my case since Eliot’s partnership expands to that of collaborating with attorneys, who represent national banks, and their client’s best interest. It is because of Eliot’s veteran experience that I was awarded the deed to the home (the home which my son and I live) as well as the successful re-modification of my home mortgage. Most impressively, Eliot was able to achieve all of this without litigating in either federal or state court. My case was contentious and met with many unique challenges. However Eliot and Cindy handled every concern with resolve! I am beyond impressed with how they managed my case and for what they did to help me get through this process! Their team has outstanding synergism! Both their professional and personal values are what protected my son and I. As a mother I will forever be indebted for their investment in my son and his future. My son is safe and protected. I’m thankful for my friend’s recommendation of Eliot Bastian, Courtney Caparella, LLC., Cindy Luken, their legal team and staffed professionals. Most Sincerely, Christina

Few of us really look forward to deal with a law situation. When I began to look for a lawyer, I knew that I wanted someone who would understand the importance of my relationship with parties invloved in the case and Charles is compassionate about his clients and cases. From my first meeting with Charles, my confidence regarding my tricky case grew enormously. . Charles has a deep knowledge of the law, and of human nature generally. Charles is a lawyer who is doing this work for the right reasons, and truly cares about making sure that his clients get the most fair and best possible outcome from the court. Even tho he and I parted company perhaps 10 years ago; I begged the Judge in my case to not let Atty Schull withdraw. When I had to replace him, I went to several attys that a highly respected Atty @ my Church recommended, but alas, I finally ended up with the worse Atty in Tarrant County that gave me a nervous breakdown and repeatedly bullied me into taking 10 cents on the $1 of the case Mr. Schull had filed for me and done a lot of the WORK. Regarding the fee I finally settled for with the crooked Judge deciding how much the bully/lazy atty recd, I reminded the Judge that I had begged him not to release Schull and the Judge remarked: "he's not going to do any more work for you." I think he was trying to get into a sudden political race, nevertheless, when I finally settled and gave that crooked atty his fee of 30% I told the Judge that he had not done any work on my case; and Schull had. The atty I ended up with simply put my files on a shelf and waited until I was so desperate and stressed and bad credit that I would "cave in" to his badgering/bullying, etc. I still think Atty Schull was and is most honest. He and his staff did a lot of work on my case and he even paid the filing fee.

I wanted to add that since I wrote this review I have gotten a hold of emails she sent saying that I refused to give her my taxes. Which is ironic since i had a letter from her dated before these emails saying that she had my taxes. If she says anything different I can send proof. So if you want an attorney that is going to lie about you to other people in the court system then hire her. There is no free consultation. I hired her for a child custody case. My ex lied about her income she did nothing, my ex lied about where she lived at so that I had to drive a mile past where my daughter lived for the exchange. she did nothing. I am self employed and I was not allowed tax deductions she did nothing. I getting a temporary placement of 50/50 and I had to pay her over 30% of my income. I gave her the proof she said she didn't believe it was legal I had consulted two different attorneys and multiple online articles. The online article should have been plenty good because when I asked her question about a law she told me to google it. I told her about what I was told and found on the internet she promptly withdrew from the case. If you want someone to represent you based on her beliefs then hire her if you want to be represented on actual laws hire someone else. Or just google it and save a lot of money. She charged me over $2000 for one court appearance and a very little amount of paperwork. She is equal to flushing money down the toilet stay away. She is a one star lawyer because the website makes you give her a star. I personally wouldn't give her negative stars.

I have no feedback for his work as a lawyer, but his personal skills are beyond horrible. After my initial inquiry and multiple attempts to confirm receipt of my fax, he called me and yelled at me non-stop and lied about his calling me back multiple times (I got 1 call 4 days later). He would not let me say a single word for well over a minute. He then hung up on me and when I called him back, he told me to NEVER call his cell phone ever again. He did not return the emails I had sent, and he waited 4 days to tell me he did not receive my faxes and then complained that this all would be blamed on him because I didn't send the document! (Why would I NOT send the documents and then ask multiple times if you received them?!?!) What a horrible representation and initial impression he gave us. Even if I were in the wrong completely, this is no way for reasonable humans to act. Engage this man with caution. He may be a wonderful lawyer, but I would never trust him.

Perfect line for this attorney is that he is Robber who extorts money by using his law degree. He is one of the attorney who thinks it’s OK to charge $1500 for 4-5 emails that were exchanged because the crooked HOA he worked as an attorney for refused to take care of any issues and only way to resolve was to get in touch with the attorney and violation was for something that does not even state in CCR’s and he feels totally OK about cheating and never sending any invoices after many requests. Ms. Foltz doesn't have any website and her reviews on Google indicate she's a suspicious character. In my garnishment case, ARL and Ms. Foltz both failed to show to court. They lost their case. Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
