I have dealt with many lawyers in my professional career and hands down, Jennifer K. Craft is one of the best in the business. Mrs. Craft attention to detail and excellent communication skills makes a pleasure to work with. Subsequent to the outstanding job she did with our trademark work, we ended up awarding 90% of our legal needs to her firm. Mrs. Craft was our main point of contact for all of our work at her firm and she went out of her way to make sure I was always kept informed on the status of all of our legal matters.

Upon contacting the Musca Law firm they took immediate action and made me feel at ease. I recently found myself under investigation for a serious crime, but the professionalism and courteous nature of all members of the firm made all of the difference. I would highly recommend them to anyone accused or under investigation. I can't thank them enough.

I was at a point in my new career where I was deciding between continuing to work independently or joining a small group practice. I was very torn about the decision and very concerned about losing my professional autonomy by signing on with the practice. I reached out to Mr. Bearman to review the contracts. He responded quickly, asked many questions about my work and my professional goals. After this initial consultation he contacted me through his secure portal and very clearly explained the process of working with him, the range of services he could offer, how his fee structure worked, and what to expect each step of the way. All that upfront information made it easy for me to consider my needs and my limitations and decide on which services to use at this time. After reviewing the contracts and highlighting things that seemed questionable or unclear he further helped me by sending me a document with the notes from our talk clearly written out- which made it so easy for me to review and think and really consider my options in a clear headed way. I felt empowered and knowledgeable after my meetings with Mr. Bearman and most of all I felt safe with the choices I made for the future of my career. At the end of our work together he provided me with clear instructions and final comments. The payment was easy to make and right in the range that he had prepared me to expect. I have never had the need to engage a lawyer before and I really feel like I lucked out because the experience could not have been more positive.

I am a professional singer and wanted to know my legal rights about performing copyrighted music for a show I'm putting together. Casey was enormously helpful in answering all my questions. He was super responsive, thorough and knowledgeable. He even offered to answer quick questions via email without charging me (which as a struggling musician, is much appreciated). I will definitely be using him again!

James is very professional and he does what he says he's going to do for you as a client. He worked for Tax Lifeboat, a firm specializing in helping people clean up the mess of unfiled and/or unpaid tax returns. I have 5 years of returns I owed the IRS, and James was a big part of cleaning up the mess and getting the IRS off my back by getting them to stop collection efforts for over 2 years in my case while I had the returns prepared and then continued helping as an intermediary between the IRS and me while they were processing these returns. He did a great job.

My daughter had a great contact with Mr. Hadley when she had a serious concern at her previous employer. His advice was invaluable. I referred an elderly neighbor for estate questions to him, he treated her like he would his own mother, he went to her home rather than have her drive to his office. She was so grateful and never ceased to sing his praises to me. I had worked with him as well, in a prior employment and know he is trustworthy, hardworking, knowledable and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

It is rare that I have a good report for a lawyer. But there is a first time for everything! I used Ms. McDonald’s services for a contract review. One of the first things that she told me was that she would always do as little or as much as I wanted her to do. She estimated how long it would take to review and discuss the contract with me. She clearly explained my options and was able to answer my questions and calmed my concerns. She made me feel comfortable.

John Wirt is the lawyer for Square Ring, and I also hired him to handle a litigation matter for me. He did an excellent job and won a number of motions for our case which forced the other side to enter into a very favorable settlement with me. He was Don King's attorney for 12 years and with Square Ring he has won a number of major victories, including against Ustream, Terek Box Event, Knockout Promotions and Green Machine Boxing. I highly recommend him.

It can be a real pain to find an attorney, especially when you're trying to deal with a time sensitive crisis. I called about half a dozen lawyers before contacting Matt Pruitt. I'm very glad I got through to him. If you've tried to hire a lawyer, you know most don't really listen while you speak. They are processing what you're saying through some sort of filter to see if you're worth their time. It's understandable, their time is valuable. But it can also be frustrating as a potential client. Matt Pruitt didn't have this issue. He listened for the 4 - 5 minutes it took to explain the situation, and the asked some insightful questions. And when he noted to deadline I was working under, rearranged his schedule to make sure he could help me out. I can't get into details on the matter, but I will say having him on my side of the table was more helpful than I anticipated. Not only did he protect our side, but he asked the kinda of questions to the other side that made them visibly uncomfortable. And that in the end is what settled the matter. This whole thing was over in one meeting. The other side did a complete 180 and agreed to every term I was asking. And I know a large part of that was due to Matt's presence, insight and demeanor. He made it clear he means business, and it was felt. So, if you're looking for someone who is competent, insightful, down to earth and can be intimidating, you should give him a call. I'll absolutely use him again if I need an attorney.

I'm very shocked Mr. Linder has no reviews. Ryan J. Linder has been phenomenal, he has been so helpful. Not only did he help me voice my concerns to an insurance company who wouldn't give me the time of day, he got me what I deserved. He managed to get my settlement number up and bring my medical expenses down. The drop in the numbers that he achieved was very surprising. i.e. I owed well over $15,000 to one doctor and he got them to accept just under $5,000 for it all! I was beyond impressed. I'm still in shock. I didn't believe it until I got a letter from the doctor's office saying that I still owed the amount, less than $5,000 (I had to wait for my check to clear and they were just sending a reminder) Aside from his extensive knowledge and impressive creative writing skills, he is a very kind person. He treats you as if you are his one and only client. He is very hands on and up front. You're not always talking to his paralegal. (She is a very nice woman as well. She took care of me while Mr. Linder was out dealing with other cases in court) The only time he is out of his office is when he is dealing with court cases. I retained him for about a year to a year and a half and not once did I have an e-mail go unanswered. He has been very kind to me, very understanding, and listened to me complain about the same thing over and over, just different ways each time (haha). Ryan, you are my life saver and I couldn't thank you enough for everything you have done for me. THANK YOU SOO MUCH! :)

I definitely recommend Mr. Spiriti.. last year I bought a house from the county auction in Broward. Completely remodeled my home.. What I didn't realize was there was a mortgage owed on the home. I received a letter stating that my home was going to be put up for auction & I was going to loose it. The court date was less then a month away. Mr. Spiriti worked magic& helped me save my home. He was fast, efficient, & very knowledgeable about the entire process. He didn't give up& worked hard to make sure that my house didn't go to the auction... i am very grateful to have hired him & i continue to use him him for other real-estate matters.. great office staff, Lisa is very friendly, & helpful, & polite. Mr. Spiriti is a Great lawyer that truly cares about his clients. save my house and he did it very quickly and efficiently..

Ms. Parker represented me in a civil matter. From day one, I knew my case was in good hands. She was very knowledgeable regarding the laws applicable to my case, took time to educate me about the process from filing the lawsuit to entering the courtroom. Ms. Parker always kept me informed about the status of my case and showed compassion when the wheels of justice turned slower than I expected. Unlike other Attorneys I have dealt with in the past, Ms. Parker was more "human" than most, while ignorant to the laws, Ms. Parker never made me feel that way. She exercised patience, when I had none, she was calm, when I was off the chart, and she treated me as though I was the only client with a case. If I am EVER in need of the services of an Attorney in the future, Ms. Parker will definitely be my choice and I have recommended her to family, friends and colleagues.

Kenny is the kind of young lawyer I wish I had been when I was his age. He's compassionate and thoughtful, and his problem-solving skills are exceptional. But Kenny is no pushover. He's motivated and resourceful, so any opponent who encounters him has their work cut out. Kenny is like David with a slingshot, and the bigger the opponent the harder they'll fall.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
