My father was rear-ended while completely stopped at a light; clearly, the other driver wasn’t paying attention at all and hit my dad’s car. We tried just going through insurance initially but it seemed like we couldn’t get their time of day. After a friend of the family told us about Tony and his firm, we called and they actually took good care of us. From the initial consultation with ernesto, to the countless phone calls we had to make to the firm for updates and treatment adjustments, each time we didn’t feel like we were being ignored or put off.

I was in an accident and didn't think that Sgro & Roger did personal injury cases; I went to their website and found that they recently began taking on PI cases so I decided to give the office a call. I was impressed with how nicely I was treated by the attorneys, specifically Mr. Sgro and Meredith Weiner.
They made me feel like my case was just as important as the rest of the cases they must've been working on. Plus I got reimbursed for the cost of my medical treatment and damage to my vehicle. I'd recommend this office to anybody in the city.

Several years ago I worked with Tony Sgro on a small criminal matter. He and his associates were always on top of my case and never let anything slip. It was very easy to get ahold of the firm and definitely worth the money to get a private attorney and not an appointed attorney. Considering going back to his firm to get my records sealed. "I think the best way to rate is to detail my experience. I hope this review helps.
I'm an independent producer who, due to differences of opinions, had been inexcusably ousted from a project. I went above and beyond (the EP's words, not mine) in all areas; was on set where and when I could be, offered industry insight, assisted them with another production (for which I was made promises and they never followed through), introduced them to connections (for which they wouldn't have had otherwise), distribution (to which they snubbed their noses at), obtained pertinent info on an historic criminal case, info they never could have obtained on their own. That old adage "no good deed goes unpunished" well, does that ever ring true in my case.
Bottom lining it, I was in for a percentage of the proceeds. The EP's decided they were not going to honor our initial verbal agreement. I knew that if I wanted to see a dime, I needed an attorney.
I had spoken with various entertainment lawyers in L.A. and Michael came to me highly recommended by a manager who knows the business of "show" inside and out. He knows who's good, who's bad.
Michael and his team were, in a word, exceptional. Knowledgeable, skilled, always responsive (it's rare for an attorney to always be responsive!), always took the time to make sure I understood the intricate details, and why the case had to take the turn it did. My case was simplistic yet complicated; both defendants were, well, beyond words. I'll stop there.
So during discovery it came out that proceeds were so much lower than I had anticipated. Because the project turned out as it did technically (my opinions didn't matter despite being hired because of my expertise), and due to the inexperienced jacks of all trades/masters of nothing, there was hardly any return to speak of.
Or so the EP's have said. Ask me if I really buy that, I'll tell you no. Problem is proving it. But in the off-chance what they have claimed they made is true, then they were an utter failure.
I digressed; Michael and Paul were patient. They cared about the outcome. They guided me through the first trial; there was mediation at first and the proposed settlement was beyond a slap in the face. I'd have rather lost every penny at the judges hands than to settle with those two ignoramus'. Michael left me a voicemail while I was in court, he cared about what was happening. When I called him back, I told him what transpired. Additionally there was some paperwork that needed immediate attention. Although that trial was over, and we were then awaiting a verdict, Michael cared enough to take care of what needed taking care of. And we won!
So I guess one time in court wasn't humiliating enough to these two inept wanna-bees; yep, you guessed it! They filed an appeal. I then had the Kernan firm by my side in court; they were allowed to accompany me this time. And, we won again!
The satisfaction of having stellar representation, who is not only knowledgeable but professional, and can kill in court, that's sublime. For all I went through with an inexperienced, inadequate, irrational and highly unprofessional first-time "producers"- and I've worked with many over my 22 years in the industry- these two were the worst... and just to know that I had a competent, trustworthy, reliable and responsive team in the Kernan Law Firm- there are not enough great adjectives in our vocabulary to describe Michael, Paul and the whole team. If this thing went up to thousands of stars, the Kernan Law Firm would have that rating from me. I would use Mike and his team again in a heart beat.... and only Mike and his team. They're the best, (literally) bar none."

Mr. Glisson handled my family law case and did so in a timely and professional manner. Glisson is an extremely conscientious, reliable and honest . You will not meet too many people like him. He is very knowledgeable and completely humble. No lawyer attitude yet a comprehensive legal knowledge and the gumption to stick up for his clients rights. His fees are beyond reasonable and he doesnt watch the clock like so many other lawyers. I had a contract question to consult with a lawyer to see if it can be brought to court, so I came to Avvo to see if I can find a local lawyer who has practice in this area. I called Daniel Shafer and asked my question. He was very patient and lay down all possibilities he thought it could be. He suggested me to first work out other ways before bringing it to the court, and explained the reasons for each of the choices clearly. I'll try the other ways he suggested and if not working and need to go to court, I'll have him as my first choice of lawyer I'm going to hire.

Sandy told me I was more involved in the drafting of my Trust than anyone she ever before worked with, yet I never sensed a second of resentment as we completed the project. Her lightening quick absorbing of nuance, instant recall of various provisions, and erudite additions were exactly on target - and beyond - with my goals and comments. The hours it took to complete the Trust were well beyond both of our initial estimates, yet her generously and selflessness in final billing should win an award for her industry. Maintaining offices in California, as well as Texas, seems to be done seamlessly and all in stride. Our work was delayed due to a 2 week out of area trial, and then over Thanksgiving, but Sandy still managed to meet my legal deadline to have the documents filed. I contacted Sandra shortly after my father passed away in 2012 and wanted to make sure that: 1) My father's name is removed from their home title, and 2) to make sure my mother's will is up-to-date and we had all the necessary powers-of-attorney/living will/et al in place. We had these done several years ago in Georgia, but wanted to make them current for Texas.
Sandra was very responsive and helpful with advice on what the next steps were for both issues. She made it very clear, simple, and straightforward for us and her fees were very reasonable in comparison to others we had contacted.
I will using her for my own will and estate plan. She doesn't try to impress you with legal mumbo-jumbo to make it look as though she knows what she's doing...she takes the time to take you thru the steps and is happy to explain any questions that come to mind during the meeting.

"I do not recommend this firm. They are unresponsive and only seem interested in contacting you when it’s about money. Was retained for a post conviction case (appeal) and this attorney presented the same evidence as the trial attorney… no new evidence nor error was presented in the appellate brief….he was not prepared nor did he research the case. Very disappointed.. would not recommend.

We hired Lauren Noriega to fight my felony probation violation. I was denied bail in the beginning and served 2.5 months in jail at which point Lauren fought for me and got me released on bail. The judge and DA tried to sentence me to 3 years in prison. Lauren got the appellate court involved who issues a stay order the day before I was supposed to surrender myself. She did an amazing job, found a lot of legal presidents that worked in our favor. Dealing with the DA’s and courts took way longer than expected, but we did get the results that she told us we would get from the beginning. Which was a full dismissal of the probation violation.

Followed all his recommendations and after serving the so called mental rehab facility with a formal petition to discharge my husband on a Friday at 455 pm and multiple hours of patiently waiting for my motion to be received by an employee that never gave it to him..
Guess what happened??
The same medical staff that said to my husband that petition won’t do anything called me the very next day at 9am stating that my husband was going to be discharged in a couple of minutes..
FOLLOW ALL HIS RECOMMENDATIONS! Yes the motion was one of the recommendations but some other magical touches expedited everything but I will let him share that with you as he knows what he’s doing and will definitely provide you with the best advice.
