My third family law attorney, I found a keeper! When I found Linda and interviewed her I realized finding an attorney is finding someone you are compatible with. If your attorney isn't like minded they aren't likely to be properly equipped to be your advocate. Find someone who thinks like you do and it will be easy for them to articulate your needs. She's expensive, very expensive. So far it's been worth every penny.

If you are looking for a family law attorney, look no further than Lesa Christenson and the team at ABC Family Law. I worked with her for about a year and a half in a very contentious custody battle. She is not only compassionate and deeply invested, but she also has the experience and sharp legal mind to get you good results. I would be happy to have her in my corner against any San Diego attorney in trial. She is well spoken, knowledgeable and a force to be reckoned with in court.
I found her at all times to put the needs of my child, and myself above her own interests - she tried to save me money wherever possible, and delegated lighter tasks to her associates to keep the fees lower. She does not blow smoke - she is a realist and will tell you her honest assessment- good, bad or ugly. I always felt well informed of my options and in control of the process.
I quickly found out that there are a couple different ways that attorneys operate in family law. Some use "shady" tricks or try to skirt the law. This is not the way Lesa and her team operates. You can be assured that they will represent you with integrity and do things the right way. I do believe that the sharp difference in approach by my attorney and that of opposing counsel was a helpful factor throughout the proceedings.
It's so hard to really know what you are getting with an attorney before you are really in the thick of it, so I am so grateful to have been referred to Lesa. Multiple times during the process other third parties involved in the court system went out of their way to let me know that I had excellent representation when I told them who my lawyer was. It seems as though they have deservedly developed quite a strong reputation.

I hired Benjamin K. Read to represent me in a court case, and I am beyond happy with the results and outcome of the whole case. His assistant called me to inform me of court dates, times, and costs and was very knowledgeable about any and everything I had questions about. His prices were not too bad compared to the other lawyers I had spoken with, which was a big deal to me because I didn't have tons of money to pay all at once. He allowed me to make payments to him, which most lawyers flat out just simply tell people they can not do this. He was very respectful throughout the entire process, and never judged me about my case whatsoever, and this meant a lot to me. Not once did I have to actually speak to a judge, he did all the work for me (which made me a lot less anxious and worried to come to court because talking to a judge can be scary, I don't care who you are)! To have someone that cares about his clients and represent them professionally and accordingly is the best thing someone going to court could ask for, and I am so pleased with the services he provided, which consisted of being able to get my felony charge dropped to a misdemeanor charge in such little amount of time! This was so huge of a deal to me, considering my record can and will have a big affect in jobs, my lifetime record, attending my children's school functions, and much more! Mr. Read's name and number is now saved in my phone for the future, whether it be myself needing his amazing skills in the court room again, or just to pass on for the next person in need of legal representation. I wouldn't want anyone else to be beside me in court, that's a fact. In 2014, I drove from New York to visit Chicago, for my sons Navy recruit graduation. Well, to make a long story short, I got into a small vehicle accident in which I received from the police 3 moving violation tickets. If you're involved in a high conflict situation, Courtney will sort out the drama and calmly present a case that a judge will be able to follow. Given the flak often present in divorce cases locally thanks to incompetent "advocates" and such, a lawyer who can filter the BS and present reality to the court, enabling our often easily confused local judges to see through the smoke is worth the fee. Exceptional record in father's custody issues.

Courtney helped me get through a not-so-fun divorce. As tough and stressful as a divorce can be, she took the lead and handled everything. I was able to sit by the pool and drink Margaritas and live relatively stress-free knowing Courtney was on my side. I will recommend Rhia to everyone I know without hesitation. Her knowledge , experience and understanding of the intricacies necessary to successfully navigate the legal process were head and shoulders above my expectations.
My dissoulution with child process took over a year and a half. Choosing a lawyer was tough because let's be honest, lawyers have a certain reputation when generalized as a whole(Not Rhia). I found a lawyer who fit all of those stereotypes (Not Rhia) and promptly fired her in exchange for Rhia's services.
Rhia was responsive , communicated clearly (without all that lawyer babble) and at no point did I ever feel like she wasn't paying attention. She even worked through her maternity leave when my family experienced a crisis .
Every step of the way Rhia ensured I was informed and comfortable with each choice we made together. She presented facts, options, advice and so much more.
In the long preparation for my case , I compiled a truckload of exhibits and information , all of which Rhia reviewed analyzed and utilized in my case. I was very impressed with the preparation process.
Then we went to trial. RHIA KICKED ASS.
Part of me feels like I should leave it at that but I will elaborate. Rhia is an expert in the courtroom. She was calm cool collected and calculated. Every Direct or Cross examination of a witness exemplified superior preparation and excellent skill in uncovering the truths of the situation. Wow.
Words can't express how much Rhia has exceeded my expectations.
If you have read this far, you are like me when I started this process. Doing whatever you can to find the right attorney and not get ripped off. Look no further because you will never find another attorney who is more fair. Honestly I would feel guilty in just paying Rhia the amount she asked for . I have been in turmoil for over a year now since deciding to file for my divorce/custody case.
During a time of desperation when I needed help protecting my child and the attorney I had been working with remained unresponsive, I sought out help from a family advocate center.
I did my research from the list the center had provided of lawyers they knew could handle my special circumstances and immediately zeroed in on Mrs. Gronberg. I have been thankful of this choice every day!

My wife quit her job and her employer withheld her final paycheck, requesting that she come into sign paperwork she was not legally obligated to before handing over the check and then lying to the Department of Workforce Development and claiming she had kept keys.
We contacted Scott and he was able to litigate our case effectively, reaching a settlement for twice what was owed and then successfully motioning for legal fees to be paid by my wife's former employer. Throughout the process, he was professional and communicative.

I was not paid by my employer, and thought I was never going to get paid for work I did. Looked around for employment law attorneys and Scott Luzi took my case. He was able to get the wages paid to me that I deserved with an additional penalty for refusing to pay me initially.
