My husband and I met with Mark and his staff 3 weeks prior to going out of the country on vacation. We did not have a will in place. My husband and I talked for some time about changing our will to a trust. The process seemed overwhelming so we procrastinated. Our friends referred us to Mark Rogers and we are glad they did! Our initial meeting was about 3 hours. Mark, Troy and Stacy took their time explaining and diagramming the details of our trust. They made it easy to understand and were very patient with our endless number of questions. We were leaving on a trip in 3 weeks and hoped our trust could be completed before we left. Mark was able to accommodate our request and paperwork was signed days before our departure. Mark and his team were extremely responsive. I’m the owner of a plaintiff’s law firm based in San Francisco, California, and I’ve worked with Brown & Sterling since October 2019. Retaining this firm for tax counsel and planning has been one of the single best business investments I’ve made. The service is fantastic: I meet once per quarter with Mr. Brown and tweak my tax strategy based on developments in my personal and business finances. Brown & Sterling is also available to me in between meetings to answer questions. During tax season, their team prepares both corporate and personal tax returns. The advice this team has provided has been nothing short of game changing for me. While I’ve been their client for only a little more than a year, I’ve probably already realized tens of thousands of dollars in tax savings by following their sound advice. And, in addition to providing excellent advice, the staff has always been very responsive and courteous. Executive Legal Assistant Chanda Nowobilski has been especially wonderful to work with. Received help reviewing a family partnership and a power of attorney document to determine if I understood what each document said as there were multiple family members involved with differing points of view. The discussions were very contentious and so it was important that I correctly understand the options available to me. There were and remain delicate issues as family matters involving property and aging parents often are. The family partnership document was particularly challenging. Diane reviewed both documents carefully and then laid out the information in a way that a non-lawyer could understand. Phone calls were productive and her turn around time in summarizing the call and the information was nothing short of amazing. She is highly skilled, knowledgeable in her field and straightforward and honest in her assessment of the situation as spelled out in the documents. She is also kind and takes to time to get to know you. I felt that I was a person and that I mattered. I would absolutely recommend her.

Franklin did an excellent job with our custody battle. He understood the court system and what was needed. We hired Franklin in the during the summer and he made a point to hold a hearing in Aug so my daughter could be enrolled in our school system. We were able to show the courts how well she did during the year at our house and in school. During this time, Franklin had instructed us as to what documents we needed to obtain. I would recommend Franklin Kirk for child custody lawyer.

I went to Mr. Fritzler for a Will, Durable Power of Attorney and Health Directive. I expected the process to be a nose bleed. It was not. He explained everything and answered all my questions. I first worked with Mr. Fritzler some years ago when I contacted the law firm he was then affiliated with for assistance with elderly family members. I lived out of state from the family members and as events unfolded, we discovered the three of them had been the subject of quite serious elder abuse at the hands of an unscrupulous "family friend". Through involved and extensive monetary and asset discovery and ensuing court cases involving Guardianships and Conservatorships, Mr. Fritzler held a steady and determined course of action. His knowledge of the law and attention to detail was (and is) amazing. I was always comfortable with and understood his advice. Several years have passed and I recently had need to contact Mr. Fritzler again, now with his own law practice, for assistance with the one surviving family member. It has been a somewhat convoluted matter and Mr. Fritzler has guided me with the same sound advice and practice. I find Mr. Fritzler to be an outstanding attorney and think very highly of him. I would not hesitate to recommend his services, especially in the area of Elder Law.

And his pricing is very reasonable, similar to the real estate lawyer I used in New Jersey. So when I called another Bellevue lawyer I was surprised that law office gave me much higher quote. I was awarded legal fees after an investment LLC filed a frivolous lien on my property. The owner of the LLC was upset by this ruling and refused to pay, counting on the fact that I had spent my limited resources fighting him in the aforementioned court battle. It wasn’t a large sum that was owed to me, at least for this company, under $10,000, but it was enough to make a difference in the life of a single mom, which I am. When I reached out to Theo, I explained my case to him and that I felt like I had no options for how to proceed as I couldn’t afford the retainer that most lawyers charged for such things. Theo worked with me to create a win-win situation for he and I both and then successfully settled the issue in a very short amount of time without having to go to court. I wanted to take an opportunity to write a review for Erik Burns. He represented me in 2012 for a child custody hearing. Erik fought zealously for my rights as a parent and for my daughter, researching and working beyond the scope of his engagement. He was able to get excellent information on record, as well. I am fortunate to have had Erik as my attorney and proud to call him my friend.
Now that I am a Tulane graduate in General Legal Studies and a competent paralegal, I can intelligently comment and praise Erik in his professionalism and efforts. He wrote an amazing motion and was very thorough in his details covering the facts and enumerating the legal issues at hand before the court. Even though we lost, it wasn't because Erik wasn't awesome, didn't do his job or because he dropped the ball. It was because we had a prejudiced judge, plain and simple. And sadly, that happens, but losing does NOT deter me from confidently recommending Erik or from praising his valiant efforts. A non-biased judge would have made a different call.

My mother is in late stage dementia and I was worried about finding someone to update her will and provide advice going forward with her care. I was so lucky that I found Mary! She is an expert in the legalities of elder law and is also sensitive to the emotions that come with the planning process. As the full time caregiver for my mother, Mary also provided a recommendation for and adult day care center. This was not part of our planning but Mary knew that it was something that I needed. Mr. Albunio did an excellent job in drawing up my husband’s and my will on very short notice. He also went to bat for us when we faced almost immediate inaccessibility to our coop, due to no provisions being made for handicapped persons while the building’s elevator would be replaced over three months. AND he did it pro bono! My thanks to him. I recommend him highly!

Mr. Albunio is an awesome lawyer for many reasons. First, he will not lie to you at all but will do the best he can for your case. Second, he keeps his clients in the loop at all times and lastly, his manner of treatment is out of this world. He was very compassionate about my condition and treated my husband and I with respect at every turn, never minimizing my feelings. I especially like that he was very knowledgeable about his field of work and explained it to us so thoroughly and was able to help us understand the complexity of our case in layman terms. His concern for us and for my case was extraordinary, especially coming from a person who has such a busy schedule. All I can say is that I refer him to everyone and anyone who may have a need for a lawyer and if he cannot help them, he refers them to someone who can. I met Leonard Shober when I needed an elder care attorney. Hiring Leonard turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Initially, he helped me with wills, POA, and some other things I didn’t know I needed; but, of course, I certainly did need them. In addition, I knew that my husband would eventually need full-time care. Leonard guided me to an excellent nursing home, suggesting I sign him up immediately as the nursing home has a 2-year waiting list. Approximately 7 months later, it was obvious my husband needed full-time care. Leonard worked with me to successfully enroll him in the facility. In order to be eligible for Medicaid assistance, a myriad of forms needed to be filled out. My daughter worked with Pat as they ploughed through this material. Pat and Leonard were at our sides, as one after another problems reared their heads. Thankfully, Pat and Leonard solved these seemingly insurmountable issues. It is due to their unfailing work on our behalf that we had a good resolution!! An almost unheard of accomplishment, I don’t think any one else would have worked so diligently, professionally, and compassionately on our behalf. The first day in Leonard’s office led us to a happy ending, and I will always be profoundly grateful to Leonard and Pat for their assistance.
