I consulted several lawyers in my area to inquire on what I needed to do after the unfortunate passing of my Wife. Mr. Vicknair was by far the best out of them all and was chosen to represent me. He informed me of what needed to be done, how long it would take, and what it would cost. All my questions were answered with great detail and patience. He is very confident and knowledgeable and the price's were very fair compared to the other quotes I was getting. Everything went very smoothly and without any problems.
Mr. Vicknair did such a good job with my Wife's Estate that I also decided to retain him for my Last Will and Testament which included a Power of Attorney, and Health Power of Attorney. Just like the first time, everything went very smoothly and without any problems.
I felt very safe dealing with Mr. Vicknair.

My sibling misused a power of attorney to prematurely take control of my father's life and put him in a nursing home two hours away from his home. Luckily for my father, Ted was the first attorney called to help my father. Ted pushed back on the nursing home's refusal to let him meet with my father. Ted drove 30 miles to bring my father a new durable power of attorney and healthcare power of attorney to sign. Ted doing that put my father back in control of his life and got him back home within a week.
Throughout the whole process, Ted answered all of the questions my father and I had about the powers of attorney. He explained every part of the powers of attorney to my father when he met with him and even answered the questions my cousins asked as witnesses.
Ted is very good and patient at listening to what you want and then explaining complex legal concepts while going over all of your options. My father likes and trusts Ted so much, that he had Ted create two trusts and a new will. My father was more than happy to drive four hours round trip on two different occasions to meet with Ted to sign documents. That's how much my father likes and trusts Ted.
My father wanted things in the trusts that aren't allowed by law. Ted did a great job of explaining to my father that the law didn't allow some of the things my father wanted, but Ted did research to come up with legally allowed solutions to achieve nearly the same thing my father wanted. Ted worked really hard and patiently to give my father everything he wanted.
Ted treated my father and me with with respect, honesty, patience and compassion while giving us great legal advise and services. He's a great attorney and an even better person.

He provided us with excellent advice and was very patient in answering all of our questions. He even provided us with new Powers of Attorney as a part of the update. I utilized Karl on two occasions. The first was to update my elderly Mother's will and the second was to update my will and create a Power of Attorney for both me and my Wife.
On both occasions (10 years apart) he provided great expertise along with appropriate questions to ensure he knew what we wanted to accomplish and we knew the ramifications of the requests we made.
He also willingly answered follow up questions over the phone. I would hire him again without hesitation and refer him to anyone needing a good Estate Attorney.

I contacted Karl after seeing his Avvo profile as I had some trust- related questions. He spent 15 minutes patiently answering my questions and explaining things to me. At the end of the call, I asked him if he needed to charge me for giving me his legal advice. He said no need, too much trouble he said! What a nice guy! My father passed away and I was chosen as the estate rep. My parents had used Karl before so I called him. It was a pretty difficult time for me and was very unsure of what to do. After my meeting with Karl I was very relieved to have found him. Flash forward one year and I'm done with the estate and Karl has been there with me the whole time. He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed. Karl is also very down to earth and personable. He strikes me as a genuinely caring person at work and I'll have to assume off work too. When my brother died without a will, I was faced with settling his very complicated estate. After reading many resumes and reviews of probate attorneys from many firms, I wrote down several names and prayed to be directed to the right one. That turned out to be April Wise. Great choice! April is a likable and easy to talk to person. She is a good listener and put this anxious, older client at ease. But, most importantly, April is a knowledgeable attorney with a sharp legal mind who is very thorough in her work. She always knows exactly what to do no matter what comes up. I live in Montgomery and called April for help will a will dispute. After talking to her briefly I was sure she would be an excellent choice. To my surprise when she found out the dispute was in Jefferson county she recommended another attorney who practiced in Jefferson county. She felt he would know the area judges better and be more suited for the job. I subsequently retained the attorney she recommended. She didn't make a dime and took the time and effort to help me. That's integrity, a rare commodity these days! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Before I was referred to Magen, I had consulted more than four lawyers to review my husband immigration case. All of them brushed me off, or quote me an outrageous amount of money because they consider the case to be extremely difficult if not impossible. My mom has early/mid stage dementia and I wanted to get Durable Power of Attorney documents in place since my dad is ill and could pass at any time. Tassma and a paralegal (Shirley) met with us and very efficiently got these documents lined up and signed. They also suggested we do a Living Will and HIPAA document, which we did. Not only was this a pretty quick process (and very reasonably priced) but I also greatly appreciated the patience and empathy Tassma and Shirley showed in their interactions with my mom. For additional estate planning needs I will have no hesitation in going to Tassma for these. Highly recommended.

My father's health was failing quickly, and he did not have his legal paperwork in order. He was extremely worried about my mom, as his will was completed. Tassma Powers unselfishly visited the hospital very late one night to complete legal paperwork which eased his mind before his passing. My family hired Mr. McGlynn to handle our purchase of a co-op at the Skyview complex in Riverdale. We were completely satisfied with Mr. McGlynn's work. He interacted on our behalf with the seller and his attorney and with the Skyview board of directors and its attorney. John was knowledgeable, informative, and easy to work with while setting up my wife and I's living will and attorney of power forms. He was affirming and comfortable to work with as a same-sex couple setting up these documents to protect our family even prior to the SCOTUS ruling. He took the time needed to answer our questions and was prompt in putting the documents together once we had provided the necessary information. He was open to make the edits required and thorough in going through the final documents. We would work with him again if we had future legal needs.

Our case involve a home builder we hired to build our "dream house." He turned out to be a thief and completely incompetent. After more than a year of fighting with the
"builder" to fix the problems, we decided to try the legal route.
We had never had any experience with lawyers and were not even sure how to start the process. A friend recommended John and we got an appointment the same week. He was WONDERFUL. John walked us through the process, told us what to expect (including the frustrations to come) he was very meticulous, organized, and kept us informed every step of the way.
In the end he proved fraud, deceptive trade practices, and incompetence on the part of the builder. Our home was declared a complete loss and because of the fraud and deceptive trade practices,, we were awarded the full price of the house plus triple damages. The total amount of the judgement was 500,000 dollars.
I hope we will never need another attorney but if we do, John is the first guy we will call.
I recommend John to anyone in need of an attorney.

I've known John Gilliam for many years. He has advised me on Montana employment law, torts--- specifically on issues of libel and slander. He has also advised me on contract re-negotiation; John helped me draft a couple of letters that re-positioned me in a dispute. Seeking an elder care attorney to handle rather unusual business for a relative of mine, I found Carol. Within the first 20 minutes of meeting her, I knew I found the right person to deal with the "mess" I had to clear up for my aunt. Carol helped me to organize aunt's affairs, clean up/clear up outstanding issues, and be able to move forward to getting my aunt the best options available and decide how/where to go, i.e. next step. Our family hired Mr. Prentice to protect my mother’s assets from the 10k per month bill she was receiving from her nursing facility. We have a very blended family. We have 8 children with 2 different mothers and 4 different fathers.
