I strongly recommend Rager Law, as they are professionals, and act that way. Calm, casual, confident.
I had the misfortune of needing legal advice from an employment attorney. I reached out to three. Jeff Rager was the first to respond and was very nice. (Mind you, I typically steer very clear of attorneys.)
The second firm replied, but after a couple emails they referred me to Rager Law, because of who my employer was.
The third never responded to my note.
I worked for Kaiser Permanente and had some trouble. I only reached out to get legal advice, after spending a year trying to get some sort of meaningful dialogue. Being pointed to different people, who then referred me to other people. Some people relied on policies that had good intentions, but the policies were not followed. I was exasperated and stressed. I knew how a pinball felt, getting bounced around only to fall into a hole and start over again.
As a last resort, I decided to hire an attorney, I hoped someone would listen to my lawyer and I could get back to work. I had a good reputation and loved helping people. I loved my work, my patients, and my co-workers. I knew that I could not lower my stress with overly aggressive and mean representation. I needed integrity and nice people. I wanted to get back to work.
I'm so glad to have had Rager Law with me. The kind tone of communication was nice and respectful. When the other side was late getting something to our team, Jeff would alway give them the benefit of a doubt. Jeff and his team remained firm and professional, without bad behavior. When things needed a stronger tone or action, Jeff and his team were right there, and stayed respectful. They were with me for the long haul and were confident in their abilities. They know their law and lean on the right way to do things. I felt safe with a legal team with such integrity and polite ways.
There were loads of records, and they went through everything. When it came down to it, we agreed to settle. I wanted to get on with my life. I heard the pro's and con's of my decision, and while we had an extremely strong case, I decided to move on.
Going to court would have yielded more money, but it wasn't about that - to me. I felt good about the settlement amount, which was enough to place attention on how not to treat people and to do the right thing, and also catch up my savings.
Employers only change behavior if it's expensive to continue the bad behavior. Since I wouldn’t be going back, I hope I helped start some kind of meaningful shift to doing the right thing.
Finally, the fee schedule. I appreciated that the fee schedule changed the more the case progressed. At first I thought, "that's a lot," and it was. Other firms were a tad higher. In the end, I feel like Rager Law earned their money. Their support had comfort, confidence, and was an absolute value.
Now that everything is done, I feel like I have a distant friend in the legal world. They are really that nice. I can't say enough good about Rager Employment Lawyers.
I offer you this, it's best to reach out early and not become exasperated with worry and stress.

I was originally trained as a mediator in 1992. I taught conflict management at the university level between 1995 and 2013. In the last 25 years I have participated in a supportive role in dozens of mediations. It is with that expertise in the field of conflict resolution and mediation that I give Karen Sloat 5 stars.
So many attorney mediators just do what they were trained to do in law school-- analyze the case and argue the merits. That often results in the same adversarial contest and entrenchment that gave rise to the lawsuit to begin with. Skilled mediators, like Ms. Sloat, do more than that. They identify parties needs and work to achieve outcomes that meet those needs. They approach resolution of conflict as a collaboration, rather than a zero-sum game and encourage parties to view negotiations from that perspective. These are the ways in which Karen Sloat showed us she is not just a lawyer relying on what she learned in law school, but a mediator capable of applying mediation the theory and technique to the cases in front of her. It is beyond the scope of this short review to comment on Ms. Sloat’s communication and facilitation skills, capacity for neutrality, etc. Suffice to say that if she didn’t have those in abundance too, she would not be the very capable, dedicated mediator I observed during a recent mediation.

Tried to get a phone to call to see if I could hire or see if we would be a good fit. Just wanted to charge $375 for initial consult. I asked if that would go towards retainer and clerk did not know. I was offered email with info that’s generic? Then she said best of luck and have a great day? Not really the type of server I was expecting.
I did not necessarily want to speak with attorney just yet. A paralegal would have been fine. Was willing to sign a retainer so long it was worth pursuing.
Not the best way to sale the firm services.

I had a very positive experience working with Lisa and would recommend her to others who need a staunch advocate and supporter.
She listened carefully to the circumstances of my complaint against a former employer and quickly grasped the details, concluding that I had a case worthy of pursuit. She is very professional and meticulous. Her written letters did a great job of capturing the facts and explaining the essence of our case.
I appreciated that she asked for my input and respectfully listened to it and took it under advisement. The overall effort took longer than I expected, but Lisa remained steadfast and encouraging throughout, even when my confidence sometimes wavered. It felt good to know she was in my corner.
She was thorough in her research and very clear and articulate in her status updates. It was evident that she remained consistently focused on my case. It was very easy to maintain the thread of our conversations throughout the entire multi-month process. I never wondered where things stood.
This extended to her precise accounting and invoicing. Though I suspect this is a customary practice, I nevertheless found it very helpful. It served more than one purpose. No joke, this is the best lawyer you will ever see in a courtroom. Just brilliant. And it’s really fun to watch. Samantha called me and asked for the details of the case. I was speaking to her a mile a minute because having to regurgitate all of this up again was a bit scary. Samantha stated that if it were okay, I could write my experiences down, and she would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. Therefore, I gave her a prewritten document about 4-5 pages long. I thought there was no way she would chop this up over the weekend and be ready to proceed with the following steps by Monday or Tuesday. I readied myself again to speak a tad more slowly and calmly. However, once Monday came around, Samatha summarized all of my information as if I had said it. She read it. She detailed precisely what I wanted to say. She is brilliant and fast in distilling information while being pragmatic enough to distinguish between what will be relevant and what isn’t. It was a pleasure speaking and working with Samatha.

Mr. Petri handled a personal injury case for me several years ago. His investigators gathered the relevant evidence within hours after the accident. On another occasion I consulted with him involving a matter related to an estate. He solved my problem quickly, and a his fee was more than reasonable for his professional advice.
I also worked for Mr. Petri as an expert witness with respect to economic damages from 1975 to 2005. I can testify that he is one of the best advocates a plaintiff can hire. He will take high risk cases that most other attorneys would not consider taking. By using the investigative skills he developed in the U.S. Army Intelligence Service, I have seen him uncover evidence that resulted in very large settlements and verdicts for his clients. I worked for Mr. Petri on two of those high risk cases that I believe no attorney in America could have done better for his clients. I recommend him without reservations to anyone seeking a plaintiff's attorney.

We Can not explain how blessed we are to have found Mr Petri ! My husband has sustained a lifelong injury due to malpractice. Mr Petri worked extremely hard non stop getting all the evidence he needed to get the case handled. It was constantly evolving with roadbumps from the other end but he never gave up. I just wanted to take a moment to not only post my highest recommendation for Barbara, but also thank her. When I first started looking for representation, my instinct was to search online. I went to a few interviews with other attorneys , but I didn't feel like they understood the complexities and severity of what I had gone through. They all wanted to take my case, but I felt like a number...as though it was all just dollar signs to them.
Finally after much effort and frustration, I asked one of my attorney friends who he thought was the best in the industry. Right away, he arranged a phone consultation with Barbara. After our initial conversation, she made time to meet with me as soon as possible.
She understood the minute intricacies of what I experienced immediately. It was a very difficult/ painful issue to talk about, and Barbara made me feel welcome and understood. She listens really well. She gets my point immediately, and gets to her point clearly. The communication was very professional and easy.
She offered her professional take on the case and on my concerns, even I haven't hired her. She does not just care about money. She said, to save the time and money, what is the good way to proceed instead of forcing me a case to open and hire her.
