Even though Jacob typically represents employees, we hired him as the employer to negotiate a settlement for a disgruntled employee who had voluntarily quit, and then stated claims after the fact. Jacob took a lot of time understanding our case and reviewing our documents and gave us great advice during the process. He proved very knowledgeable about the law and did a great job negotiating for us. We ended up paying less in settlement than we had expected, and Jacob's fees were very reasonable. Although I hope that we never need to use Jacob again in the future, if we do need an employment lawyer we would look forward to working with him in the future.

I hired Julie to appeal the decision that the unemployment department had made. Julie was excellent and spent many hours talking me through the appeal process and the court hearing. Julie is kind, generous, dedicated, and a great attorney! She even went above and beyond and warned my previous employer of defamation. I am a senior woman in my company and was being forced out of the firm for unclear reasons -- and being treated unfairly, to say the least. Another employment lawyer I know socially recommended Supreeta to me, and she was a godsend in an otherwise completely awful few weeks. I called her with an immediate ask, and she was able to squeeze me in, advise me of my options, and work on my separation agreement (quick turns), all in the span of 2-3 days. She was responsive, smart, reasonable, empathetic, and dependable. Many thanks to Dawn Knepper for was instrumental in helping me navigate this unknown world of using an employment lawyer to help negotiate an exit based on discrimination and whistleblower retaliation. Not only was Dawn able to keep me informed and educated every step of the way, there may have been many times when she had to even play the role of “Therapist” - such a mix of emotions, from anger, sadness, shock but Dawn kept me focused on what was important and helped manage expectations.
When we were working to finalizing the negotiations and the other side was not budging, and neither were we, she was able to showcase what moving forward past negotiations into the litigation stage would look like for both myself and my employer. This was enough for my company to settle for what we asked for, much more than what Dawn had said was typical to expect from this type of case.
Happy unfortunately is not a word one can use regardless of outcome - the mix of emotions of being forced out and one’s reputation being destroyed, however I left much more than satisfied.
One will be lucky to work with Dawn Knepper for any employment issue.

Dawn is an amazing advocate for people who like me who don't know the law and what our options are during layoffs. My employer has been systematically eliminating more senior roles held by older employees, and offered me a terrible severance agreement. I consulted with Dawn about the agreement, not certain I had a case. She not only explained California law, she agreed that I had a case and we got to work. Over 6-8 weeks, she was able to put pressure on the company and successfully negotiated significantly more money on my behalf. She was very responsive and communicated clearly with me throughout. I was also highly impressed with her knowledge and experience in this area of employment law, especially in California, as well as her mission to help people who have been poorly treated. I am so grateful and would 100% refer friends and family to her in the future.

Choosing a lawyer with or without a referral is risky, and reviews can be misleading.
When I Ianded in Steve Glickman's office over a decade ago, cold and without a recommendation, I took the kind of chance that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I got lucky....because of Steve's character. YES, he has deep knowledge, years of experience, and is attentive. Aside from that, Steve has repeatedly proven that he can be trusted. He has unwavering ethics and integrity. At vulnerable points in time, we often can't see through the fog. I met with Steve a couple of years ago and I have been working with him since then on various employment issues. When I met with him, I had few employees who left the companies that I own, and they were conspiring and determined to sabotage my businesses. Mr. Glickman understood the complexity of the situation very well, and was able to break them away very easily and dissolved their bad intensions.
He is very knowledgeable about various employment laws, and on top of it, he is very sincere and honest man. He provides his experience handy at different scenarios and situations. He also works very well along my other business lawyer.

My discussion with Ari Karpf was nothing but eye opening and extremely informative on the situation I was subject to by my employer. He is a very quick learner and after hearing the quick details of my situation gave me the confidence that he would go to bat for me and ensure that my employer would have no choice but to be fair to me. I am averse to conflict, and as Ari understood this he helped me through the options I could use for communication with my employer that met my needs. I recently had an opportunity to work with Ari regarding an adverse employment situation with a public university in Pennsylvania. There are so many things that stand out from my meetings with him.
1) Following my call to his firm, he initially contacted me on a Sunday which worked great for my schedule - I loved his availability.
2) He was personally invested in the assessment of my situation and did a great job asking questions about the circumstances of my case without giving false hope about the strength of my case. He was matter-of-fact and specific.
3) He took incredibly copious notes. About a month passed between my initial phone call with him and me ultimately hiring Ari to assist in navigating my situation. When we met for the second time, I was amazed at the thoroughness and recollection of the details of my case and we were able to get right into the heart of the decision making about how to move forward. And once I hired him we met almost immediately. There was no dust gathering as I worried about my situation. He was action oriented with the goal of moving to resolution.
4) He was clearly willing to do the work necessary to achieve success, but he also suggested ways to move forward that were less threatening to my employer and allowed me to achieve a satisfactory outcome that was timely, financially beneficial, and wasn't litigious.
5) He used his expert knowledge and experience to assess my situation in a way that allowed me to understand the strengths and weaknesses of my situation and what the most appropriate path forward would be.
6) He consistently checked during the course of our conversation to assess my level of comprehension.
7) He uses great analogies that can make a complicated topic understandable.
8) My situation was resolved rather quickly and did not require significant time. Had we needed to approach the situation in a more aggressive manner, I loved knowing Ari was in my corner and working on my behalf. He was strong, confident and competent in his approach to my case and I have every belief he would have arrived at an even more beneficial resolution to my claims were it necessary to do so.

My case took over 3 years, but never once did I doubt that I was in good hands. Megan and her team were supportive from the very beginning... they took me on as a client after another male-led firm said I have a valid claim but it wasn't worth their time and pursuit. She understood why this was so important to me, as a reflection of my values and commitment to justice, and agreed to help me on this journey of accountability.
Although I worked with several attorneys on her team (who were all amazing!), eventually Megan personally managed my case to the end. He was successful handling high stakes litigation and transactions. Johnathon is a genius, the most intelligent and strategic thinking person I have ever met. I approached Phil regarding my equal pay and discrimination case against a large corporation, after I had a prior conversation with another firm. Because of that, I had a general idea of what were the possible legal venues available in my situation.
Phil laid out similar options. Unlike the other firm, I felt that Phil was more confident and had more experience in dealing with large corporations that have a very robust legal team and a strong process to deny any wrong doing. Phil was very professional (a bit cold), but I felt it was appropriate for his role.
I felt that I had a very strong case and plenty of supporting documentation. After listening attentively to my situation, Phil put a very detailed demand letter together, laying out the events and including eloquently the laws governing the situation. After a lengthy process, while the company investigated the events, they came back with a very low-ball settlement offer. Phil was instrumental in negotiating a deal and listening to my concerns.
It is unfortunate that it is legal for companies to force employees into Arbitration Agreements as a condition of employment and basically force employees into forfeiting their legal rights. Because of that, I don’t feel that the law was enforced, however I do feel that Phil did a good job of listening to my concerns (while keeping an impartial stance) and he did a good job representing me and negotiating in my behalf. While the desired outcome for me would have been fairness and change in the illegal practices displayed by some of the leaders of the corporation, a settlement was reached. As everyone treated unfairly knows, money does not substitute fairness, but it’s what the corporations prefer to offer, instead of accepting responsibility and implementing change.

She gave me suggestions and ideas as to how to best manage a complex negotiation. The most amazing part is she did all of this without charging me anything. It is very difficult to find an employment lawyer who will represent employees. Most of the large firms only want to deal with employers because of the continuing revenue stream.
