Mr. Nichols recently represented me on an OWI 2nd offense. He worked tirelessly to reduce my charge to an OVWI and eliminate my other charges. I hired Todd for a very serious charge pertaining to operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. This was a Felony matter and the possibility of an extend jail sentence was real and highly probable. From the first visit with him in Oakland county Jail he was honest and upfront with me on what he felt he could bring to the table. I couldn’t be happier with his services from the day of retention all the way through to sentencing. He was always very responsive and fought hard against the prosecutor when they tried to make a case for a harsher punishment. Todd was also very fairly priced for the experience and knowledge of the Judges and Prosecutors in Oakland county. I truly believe he got me the best possible outcome in a situation that could have turned out very ugly. Great guy and a great lawyer – worth every penny!!

My Mother hired Mr. Carron on my behalf and he turned out to be the best lawyer that I ran across in many years, he will give his input on things that may be better handled in a different perspective then yours and consult with you before making any changes that you felt strong about. After a very long struggle with defense attorneys who were uncaring, non-responsive, just "throw you to the wolves" kind of people and steal your money, we needed an appeals attorney. We contacted many many appeals attorneys and it became a coin toss between Mr. Carron and only one other attorney. We did not hire him, but we're hoping we made the right decision. Mr. Carron was very knowledgeable , responsive, caring and listened to any concerns or questions we had. We would HIGHLY recommend him if you are in the unfortunate position to need an appeals attorney.

Coming to this site I had little hope, I had been on several different sites, Ask an attorney? Get legal advice? I was givin misinformation each time. So basically I was gonna give it one last try lucky for me Dana answered my question unlike all the other attorneys that I had asked he actually knew what I was talking about. In fact Dana had handled some cases like mine. So he began looking into this for me. We have been corresponding for several days as he was doing research for me. But unfortunately he ha d explained that I had misses the deadline to file a claim by 3 days. My heart sank if I hadn't gotten so many bad answers in the past by professionals who really had no clue & didn't care enough to do some research i would have been able to file a claim. So unfortunately we couldn't continue with my suit at this time. But Dana reassure me he will look into extensions for this deadline & if he can do it he will get a claim filed in my behalf. So this is why I say he is 1 in a million a rare breed because who does that for people? Spend days trying to help them even at home going far beyond what he needed to. So I do know that with Dana Carron not only do u get a smart guy who works hard you also get a guy who gives a damn & actually cares for his fellow man. So thats a win win. .....

Stephen is *the* expert on how the US taxes foreign accounts. He has substantial public commentary on questions such as the US filing requirements for UK pension accounts, which shows both (a) that he knows what he's talking about and (b) that he's happy to share his knowledge.
I didn't end up needing to hire Stephen, but that's only because he had a quick and easy answer for my situation that he was happy to provide. I would have hired him in a heartbeat if the situation had more complexity, and I plan to do so if the need arises. I would recommend him to anyone paying US taxes who has overseas accounts that they aren't sure how to handle.

I asked for Steve's help since I wanted my family to be updated on offshore taxes. After seeing all the fear mongering online, I am very glad I made a call to Steve. I did not know at that time that Steve had written a book on offshore taxes, and had been practicing in this field for decades. He assured me that there was no need to worry. There were many people like me who were in this position.
He helped us with offshore taxes, which consisted primarily of inheritance. There were many complicated scenarios in the distribution of my inheritance. He was a very careful listener and was very prompt with answering my questions.
Steve should be one of the first people you should call if you have issues with offshore tax.

Not many times these days do we find our expectations exceeded! Venar Ayar is the exception! He is a wise, confident attorney...smart, responsive and a good listener. As we shopped for the right legal partner everyone wanted to "sell us"...not Mr. Ayar! We contacted him because our current tax service did not meet our expectations. He recommended that we not walk away. Instead he told us how to move forward and not spend extra money! He didn't want us to increase our legal expenses. Imagine we were ready to hire him but he was looking out for us. He provided us with good counsel, insight and advice but refused to take money for his service. He said the first visit is a free consultation. He gave us the advice we needed and it cost nothing! Most legal firms would have taken advantage of a disgruntled client and signed us up....instead he gave us the knowledge to move forward with our current tax attorney. He gave us all the time we needed! I would trust Ayar Law firm and I wish I could give them more than 5 Stars!!!!!

I have needed to get legal advice to navigate dealing the the IRS three times. I have talked to other attorneys but each time I relied with confidence on Venar Ayar. Not only was I successful in dealing with the IRS every time, the last two times I was not charged for the legal advice. Instead, I was advised that I could easily execute the remedy without paying them, the steps were throughly explained and I was encouraged to simply do it myself. I did and it went exactly according to their advice. Mr. Ayar’s associate Wendy even said if you have any questions just call and I will guide you. I showed up to their office with my check book ready and willing to pay them to just do it for me. But they are very honest and do not take peoples money like many of the other “tax relief” companies advertised. I was in a pickle with the IRS and I was scared. I heard a comercial about Optima Tax Relief and I had called them first. After an hour long phone consult they were going to take care of the situation for $4000 which I needed to pay UP FRONT over the phone so that they could assign me to one of their attorneys. I hesitated. It was all remote, nothing local.
Then I heard a radio ad for Ayar Law and they were local so I felt better about that and called them. At least I could see them face to face when handing over $4000. But as I explained above, I PLEASANTLY learned that I had avoided a scam. I was kindly advised to keep my $4000 because I could easily do it myself, I was offered support if I needed it and it worked out perfectly - I prevailed.
I really can’t say enough about how important it is to KNOW FOR CERTAIN that your attorney is an honest person who truly has your BEST INTERESTS in mind. But I can say that about Venar Ayar and the team at Ayar Law with all confidence. As I have said, I have, unfortunately on my part, needed to call on them three times over a seven year period and I have only paid once and then it was only a few hundred dollars and I have always come out on top in my tax dealings. And though Ayar Law is a business relationship it has the feel of friendship. You won’t find a better legal counselor.
THIS GUY IS HONEST, FAIR, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, CONSCIENTIOUS AND EFFECTIVE. He’s also a gentleman.

I was very pleased with the way Dean Patrick handled the closing of my late aunt's estate in Detroit. She had no family in-state and did not leave a will, so I had to find a way to settle her estate from afar. Even though I live out of state 600 miles away and could only make one trip to his office in person, he kept me well-informed on the status of the case via phone and e-mail, and completed all the necessary tasks without my physical presence including court appearances, which I greatly appreciated. I am not sure if I will ever need legal help in Michigan again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to contact him. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

When my therapist finally convinced me to apply for disability I had already eaten through my savings in denial and was in a pretty bad place (though thankfully was safe and had a roof over my head, but I wasn't doing very well otherwise). I was overwhelmed and not sure how to proceed. My mother is a nurse so she asked around for colleagues who knew about the process, and one recommended Mr. Silverman - that was the best stroke of luck I could have asked for.
He was thorough and businesslike, on top of everything, kept meticulous records and chased every possible avenue. But he was also patient with me, sympathetic, and possessed of a humanity and no-nonsense humbleness you wish you could get in your doctors let alone your attorney. I probably felt more embarrassed about my situation than he did, and he tirelessly did the necessary research not only to know exactly what to do, what I was entitled to by law, and how to go about it, but also what things I needed to focus on to make sure the proper authoritative channels understood my situation in a way that was meaningful to them (important when you're an adult with a late ADHD diagnosis- he sifted through my chatter and knew which things were the needed information and which were not).
Through the whole long process, he was there getting things done, rolling with the inevitable snags and figuring out how to get over those hurdles, and keeping me up to date on what was happening, even letting me know now and then he was still on things just because it had been a while and we were still waiting. I never could have done it on my own, but I'm also confident he went above and beyond and strongly recommend specifically this man to help you out with legal advice. Knowing I had him in my corner kept me calm through the journey and I recently got my first disability payment, which hopefully will be the start of me getting a better handle on my health now that the millstone of supporting myself is lifted from my shoulders.
When he told me these reviews helped others find him I couldn't click the page fast enough. Hire him, I promise you won't be sorry, and I want him to be successful and happy forever because he really helped me out through something very difficult, and I don't care if it is his job I'll be grateful forever, he did a great job and he's a good bloke in my book.

I went to Mr. Silverman after losing my first appeal for disability, as most people do. Sam explained the processes, what he would be doing, kept me informed as the case moved along thru the appeals process to a successful conclusion in a hearing in front of a judge.

Bert was very knowledgeable and help me thru this and appreciate his professional service to me.
I like the on the line system- modern technology is so amazing. I never had to drive to his office (like my ex-wife did- traveled 45 minutes each way to talk with her lawyer) to get access to him but did everything thru on line and telephone. Set up an appointment time slot on his schedule that he has available and then he calls you back at that time. Be organized and write down your content you want to cover as the time flies by quickly.
He was 4 times cheaper than the first lawyer I had a consultation with to see if I was going to hired her her
