I interviewed numerous attorneys before I selected Jami. Most of the other attorneys informed me that "men dont win in Travis County - you're going to lose this case." Jami was honest and told me that she would fight for me, but that there were no guarantees. We went to Court and Won!!!! She was diligent in her approach to the case, efficient and effective in the courtroom, and a true delight to work with. Her approach was to "do whats right for the kids" and we Won! I have been in and out of court with my son's father for the last six years. I had a very unfortunate event with my other infant child (my son's little sister) having a severe chromosomal deficiency which kept her in Texas Children's Hospital in Houston until she passed at 6 months. During that very emotionally weak time my son's father saw an opportunity to take me back to court with a fictitious and fabricated evidence. I was served with papers of the hearing at the Roland McDonald House while my daughter was in the hospital and we had the court hearing one month after my sweet daughter passed. I was literally still in shock and standing in court without any representation. Without the ability to present my case I was unable to provide documentation to disprove the father's false accusations. I had been the primary parent all of my son's life and then in that unprepared moment it was changed over to his father.
So, one month after I lost my daughter in the hospital, I lost custody of my son in court. This created a huge emotional distress on my son's life as he went from only being in preschool two days a week to losing his sister, changing his primary residence to his father, and being placed in full-time daycare for the first time in his life.
I consulted with many lawyers and finally put my complete faith in James "Jake" Gilbreath's Law Firm. He lined up the appropriate experts and reviewed my case that James "Jim" Piper who agreed to serve as co-counsel. These two attorneys worked seamlessly on my case and started preparing litigation to discredit the prior ruling.

Jim Piper is an outstanding attorney. He helped with my divorce and subsequent custody arrangements, and was vital during my trial to modify/terminate custody due to my childrens’ father’s recent involvement with drugs. He was quick to reply and calmed my nerves throughout the hearing. He is as sharp as a tack with an excellent attention to detail. Constantine helped me create my LLC and filed all the documents that needed to be done. He was knowledgeable at every turn of the process. As a first time business owner I didn't create my LLC for a long time because i was scared of the process and Constantine made sure that i knew exactly what was happening and i never felt in the dark. Constantine is also my go to for my taxes both for my business and personal. He educates me on every little detail and ensures I file on time and correctly. Costa Anestos knows the answers to the most esoteric tax questions. I consult him early in the year each year to learn strategies that save thousands on my taxes.
My husband and I married recently, both with separate property. Costa answered our questions thoroughly and strategically. He knows oil and gas rights as well.
Recently I followed his advice for a complex 1031 exchange of rural property inherited at different years. I completely deferred my capital gains. No other tax attorney would even touch my complex questions.
He has particular expertise in investment real estate. As a real estate agent I would not hesitate to recommend him to my clients when considering the tax implications of investment property.

When we started expanding our construction business statewide we were very fortunate to meet Mr. George. He was referred to us from the bank that was providing the financing for our work and also from our accountants. The bigger our company grew, the more sucessful we became, the more we found people, that did not want to pay us. One strategy to beat us out of our money, was to sue us for "Deceptive Trade". If you are looking for a creative lawyer who can see strategies that other lawyers can’t grasp then Hunter is the lawyer for you. Nobody would take my case, but Hunter wasn’t intimidated by a health insurance contract that excluded coverage for my son. He never showed worry or doubt though the odds weren’t good. Most folks would probably prefer to settle their case outside of court, but sometimes you can't get the other side to agree to a reasonable compromise. That is what happened in my case, so we went to a jury trial.
Hunter did his research and was extremely well prepared for the case. Even though we were trying the case in a venue that favored our opponent, Hunter's people skills and judgement were on full display in every aspect of the case. Long story short, we won thanks to him!

I had a business relationship with several other persons involving multiple high dollars projects. For years I not get the to deal with us in a fair and expeditious manner. I had tried a couple of other lawyers without success. I hired Mr. Burk and his firm. This was the most difficult experience of my life but Judith Bryant and her team made me feel empowered throughout the divorce proceedings and helped me to understand the new bright future that lied ahead. I was surprised with divorce papers by my wife of 12 years. I was totally caught off guard, scared and unsure of where to go and what I should do. A committed father of two, kicked out of my home, unsure of myself and the future that lied ahead I was luckily referred to Ms. Bryant and several other well known attorneys by a prominent family in Austin. From my initial meeting with Judith I could tell that she was different. Unlike some of the other well know Divorce Attorney’s in town Judith wanted to speak to me directly and scheduled my initial appoint within hours of my first call. From that meeting and throughout the divorce process Judith always made me feel like I was her only client. This was not a divorce case with millions of dollars in funds or assets but that didn’t make a difference to Ms. Bryant.

If you are reading this review you have possibly found yourself distressed over many complex issues and should consult an attorney. In the meantime I write this to bring calm, relief and to ensure you there is light. I found myself in days past that were very dark and I interviewed numerous attorneys searching for a glimmer while contemplating a multi-decade marriage on the fast track to divorce.
From A to Z I searched, even the firms that boast of protecting men's rights, and others that offer ridiculously low cost while they file paperwork and leave it up to oneself to build, advocate or even defend their own case, but after meeting Judith I knew she was the attorney that could reclaim my life and shine light back on my future. From day one, Judith was able to put my chaotic situation into clear perspective and drew up an aggressive plan, in an easy to understand format, while assuring me I would one day wake from this dark nightmare. Initially and very confused, I imagined a standard or routine divorce where two people fell out of love, split what they acquired together and went their separate ways peacefully. Is there such a thing?
I still can't answer that and not quite sure I want to test a second go of it.
I have to say my divorce was special, or again, maybe routine. To describe it, my divorce was ugly, lengthy, complicated and bitterly contested at every stage. My experience with my divorce was not that bad. It was not a typical divorce. It was very amicable. But I am the exception to the rule. I am certain if you are going through a divorce process it will not be as friendly as mine.
Laura Grumbine (my attorney) and Kate Koscheski (Paralegal) made this life event as smooth as possible.
Kate regularly updated me with the status of my case and made requests of any documents needed. She also was there to remind me if I forgot (which happens too often) or ommited anything.

My wife and I had to deal very unexpectedly with what amounted to completely unfounded and untrue allegations of possible child abuse. The doctor's exam only revealed healed mosquito bites. The real abuse was from the invasion of privacy that subsequently occurred as the CPS rep conducted a series of questioning that greatly upset our kids. It was amazing to us to see just how easy it is to totally disrupt a family by just picking up the phone. The pain and anguish our family was put through needed a firm and legal response. That's where attorney Michelle Fontenot came in. She met our kids and got to know our family. Her knowledge of child therapy/emotional issues is amazing. Michelle represented me through an unfortunate and unusual situation involving family law that spanned more than 8 months. It involved a petition for a protection order and a difficult divorce. During that time, I worked with her regularly, each month, if each week. I was very impressed with her professionalism. She is ultra-reliable and her judgment proved to be very keen. In seeking help, Max's staff was very professional in providing me responsive help from Max himself. When I spoke with Max on the phone for the first time, Max was already familiar and knowledgable about how to help me. Max even went out of his way to meet me in person to provide me that free consultation and Max was spot on about my situation. During that consultation, he gave the pros and cons of the situation and advised me of all possible options available to me. I was willing to hire him on the spot but he recommended that I evaluate my other options before I hire him.
Max Harger is definitely one of those attorneys who is passionate about what he does as demonstrated by his knowledge. And he's definitely not of those stereotypical "ambulance chasers" as he's not concerned about the bottomline. I have personally utilized the services of Joseph Oswald. I also had the pleasure of being a receptionist at an office where he leased space. Judge Oswald is a highly ethical and professional attorney focusing on Collaborative Family Law but if litigation is needed, he will handle it and handle it well. He did so in my case. Gracie Shepherd was our attorney in my custody battle for my son. It was a long brutal fight that involved multiple hearings in front of multiple judges. She did an excellent job and communicated with us regularly. During the whole process we were able to observe many other lawyers/clients and it was obvious that Gracie was very professional and prepared. She knew how to navigate the online zoom hearing well and had all of our files and evidence organized and easy for the judge to see. We feel very blessed that Gracie represented us. We ended up winning full custody and awarded child support. Her legal advice was practical and well considered. She was composed during trial and not intimidated by the other lawyers. I would strongly recommend her to anyone that is going through a child custody battle. I felt like she really and truly cared about our child’s well being and knew how to navigate the legal system to protect the interests of our child. She’s sharp, savvy, and clever. Getting a divorce is hardly ever easy but I worked with Gracie & she made it as less excruciating as was possible. I knew I wanted to go with her when she billed me for 30 mins during my first consultation even though I was quoted a fee for an hour.
