John Toland is my hero! He is a down to earth, sincere professional. I was charged with a federal crime and facing the possibility of up to 15 years in prison and needless to say this was the scariest time of my life. When I met with John I knew he was my attorney. He really cares about his clients and he does not overcharge. He assessed my case and made sure I was aware of what my options were and what to expect. I recommend the Peek & Toland firm 100% - they gave me 110%. We won one of the most difficult cases with the odds completely stacked against us. I would say at least 90% of other Austin law firms would have lost my case. I say this because other firms I brought my case to were very negative on the case. While Peek & Toland were not exactly positive on my case, they were willing to exhaust every possible avenue under the law to win the case, and they did!
From the first moment I met with Peek & Toland, they made me feel at ease and comfortable during what otherwise can be a very stressful time. I highly recommend Pete Reid. My son had a signed contract for a condominium and the seller reneged on the contract. Mr. Reid wrote a very thorough letter to the seller and I believe it was this letter that influenced her to proceed with the purchase of the contract. The entire time we dealt with Mr. Reid he was courteous, professional, and caring. He also explained things very thoroughly each step of the way. Two lawyers have since reviewed his letter, as well as the real estate company, and all were very impressed with his work.

Pete was referred to me by another attorney in Austin. Since then I have retained him on two occasions (both related to business litigation). Both times Pete helped me accomplish my goal with a minimum of frustration and stress. I highly recommend him.
I have been impressed by a few things about Pete:
He's very good at what he does. He's great at writing statements and filings, of course, but he's also great at understanding a case and seeing it from different perspectives. Both times I worked with him he pointed out things I hadn't considered.
He's also very friendly and engaging. For example, your phone calls with him are never stressful. Part of that is his great sense of humor. In fact, one of his responses to opposing counsel holds a permanent place in my personal hall of fame of "witty comebacks."
Another thing that really stands out about Pete is his candor. I've worked with a fair number of attorneys in the past. They generally refuse to give helpful answers to questions like "Can I do X?" or "What are the odds of Y?". Pete will give you a straight answer, like "The odds are probably 75%". That's tremendously valuable when you're trying to weigh your options and make the best choice.
If you need help with business arbitration or litigation, you're in very good hands with Pete.

Aaron has been the BEST attorney I have ever had. I cannot say enough of the great advice I have received. Mr. Libersat is a super lawyer that gets the job done to the best of his ability. I hired him for a felony that was a serious stress in my life and I was afraid of what could happen if I chose the wrong attorney. He didn't let me down at all. He was able to work with the state & get it reduced to misdemeanor deferred adjudication with no jail time or probation. That means that when I finish deferred adjudication probation the charges will be dismissed and I can say I was never convicted.
At one point the state tried to add a burdensome condition that they hadn’t mentioned as I was standing in front of the judge to accept the plea deal, which would have put impossible requirements on me and made it hard for me to fulfill the probation and see my children.
Fortunately Jeff stopped the proceedings before the deal was finalized and refused to accept it and we made another hearing. At the next hearing the State agreed to remove the restrictive requirement and I accepted the deal. I know Jeff was reluctant to even accept this deal and wished he could keep fighting for a complete dismissal but he also wanted me to be able to move on with my life and with the best deal I could receive. He let me decide and I chose to take deferred adjudication so that I could move on. I’m happy with the decision and I expect to finish probation and have this case dismissed. He always answered the phone with any questions I had and any information I needed at all times. I couldn't be happier with the decision of hiring him.

Last year my landlord withheld a large part of my security deposit ($400) in bad faith. The apartment had been maintained properly and cleaned thoroughly prior to my move out date, however, over $200 was deducted from my deposit based on “damages” that consisted of only normal wear and tear. I attempted to fight this issue on my own, but the management company maintained their stance and insisted that the fees deducted from my security deposit were for damages caused during my stay. The “damages” however were not specified, and I was simply billed for normal “cleaning and painting”. I contacted Mr. Libersat to assist me in fighting these charges. He was professional, thorough, understanding, and above all, successful! He took the time to listen to the details of my case and promptly drafted a “demand letter” to the owner of my management company. The letter presented my complaint in a clear, concise, and intelligent manner. It included examples from the Attorney General’s website, and directly disputed the claims against me. Mr. Libersat assured me that if the landlord did not return my security deposit in full within the requested timeframe, he would take further action on my behalf. Thanks to Mr. Libersat, I received my security deposit check in the mail just 5 days after he mailed out the letter. I could not be more appreciative for his expert services and I highly recommend him to others seeking legal advice and counsel.

I consulted with Sharlann Roe over probating my brother's will in Texas when his estate was in Colorado and she gave me excellent advice and took whatever steps were needed that I could not do myself. I hired her again when I needed to probate my aunt's more complicated estate in Texas.
I called her again for a consultation when a male family member needed help with a child support case. Once again, she gave me excellent advice and demonstrated genuine concern for my family and the children involved. I believe I also hired her to complete a simple will for me, as well. (My relationship with her goes back at least 17 years and my aging mind will sometimes push older dates and data aside to make room for new ones.)
I can highly recommend her for both probate and family law and I have just called for an appointment to hire her again, this time to help my son with a family matter. I'm glad to have discovered this website for the opportunity to add my recommendation.

I had 2 previous attorneys who made a mess out of a messy divorce. Sharlann had to come in at the last minute to defend me the best she could to try to make the best of the worst case scenario. I had pity on her as she tried to redirect the judges rulings which were very biased for my ex. She succeeded on some areas but tried her darnedest to help me. I knew she cared a lot to see me suffer for a variety of areas, I won't get into here. She gave me wise counsel as a friend would too. I know she truly cares for me and my daughter and she has showed it in the years past the initial court hearings as we had to go several more rounds with my ex with regards to other hearings. Sanjeev is a consummate professional. His exceptional legal and business knowledge were great to find. I had a rather simple area that I wanted help with... setting aside a conviction in a DWI case. I did not know the exact name for that process and I found Dax online. I contacted him and was able to get an appointment rather quickly, and he did not charge for the first meeting. He quoted me a flat fee and I knew what to expect from the time I left his office going forward.
I really liked the fact that Dax met with me and really seemed interested in helping me and my situation. I knew that he would be handling my case and not passing me off to another associate attorney.
When I needed to reach Dax, he was available to me via text message and cell phone ... I don't think he gives those out until you hire him, though.
I would recommend you call Dax for anything. Even if you think he cannot help you, give him a chance. If Dax is not able to assist you, he will tell you up front and if possible refer you to someone else.
I have no complaints and if I ever need an attorney again, Dax will be the first person I call!
