My experience with the Noble Law Firm was first class from start to finish. From the first conversation I had with Alex Kelly, the attorney who handled my case, I knew I was in good hands. He is highly intelligent, extremely well-versed in employment/labor law, and he communicates in a clear and timely manner. He has a way of explaining complex topics in layman’s terms and I felt very clear about the case and the legal activities along the journey. Even though the reason for reaching out to the Noble Law Firm was based on a series of stressful events, having effective representation and working with Attorney Kelly, who truly cared about my case, did make the journey a little better. I am pleased with the resolution of my case, and I KNOW it would not have been resolved as successfully without the support and effective counsel the Noble Law Firm provided.

This place is the biggest scam of a business that I’ve ever seen. Money has been sent twice to this business for them to hold onto for MONTHS and then send back to say you owe them more now. Been dealing with them for over 6 months now and have had money returned TWICE and told they were adding additional fees. Last payment was sent in December, today is the middle of April and they are just sending that payment back because they didn’t deposit it when they received it back in December. Most incompetent company I have ever seen!

Once hired -Very bad with returning emails and phone calls. She told me she was filing my case but instead went on vacation for a week. She didn't inform me she was going away and I didn't find out until I tried to reach her to follow-up on the status of my filing. She was not organized. When she returned it was too late, so we lost jurisdiction! I asked her what are we going to do now and her response was "I don't know what you are going to do. You need to try to find an attorney in that jurisdiction." I had to go to that jurisdiction to file my own paperwork at the courthouse!!! She did finish out my case however, my case still has lingering issues and I don't feel comfortable reaching out to her because my experience was so bad. I would not recommend her services unless you are ready take on the work yourself!

I paid 3k and the only thing she did is continued my child support case for the whole 2022 year. Than smile in your face and next thing you get a letter from her requesting from the courts not to represent you anymore after you express disappointment because its been lingering for a whole year almost. In return you receive from her a email talking bout her rates and how much she charged but the only thing she have been doing is pushing your court case back. I got the job done by representing myself. She don't care about Father Rights it's just another day in the office and easy money for her. I could have saved my money and just represented myself. She'll make it sound good at 1st. She lay out the plan and everything when you give her the money. Next thing when you court she be telling something totally different. She'll request a continous lol. It's funny now but I'll never give her any more of my money ever again .. I wouldn't do this but it's the principle now and I can't let this one ride. She doesn't have a steady office. She always moving somewhere. She all over the place. She need to tighten up. Prepare to take a L if you use her

Liz was hired for a few thousand dollars for a child custody and contempt case. It's been almost a year and still have not been to court or one document filed. Took weeks and weeks of calling and emailing in order to get the 1st draft of the documents that were filled with errors. Took a couple weeks after that to get the "final" documents. This should have already been filed and went to court. She didn't have a problem taking the money fast but ever since she has been paid, it's a struggle to get her to do anything she is supposed to do. What other option does one have after you've paid her all that money? Can't even go hire another attorney and this is my one shot because how can I come up with that kind of money again? After reading all the other reviews (and the good reviews seem like they are "bought" or done by associates of hers), she should not be allowed to practice law. Get your life together and do what you're paid to do.

Going through a custody battle has to be one of the hardest things a parent could go through. Although, Liz did file my paperwork I expressed numerous times I wasn’t comfortable with signing the custody agreement. I just wasn’t confident my needs were being addressed. After stating this the response was what else do you want me to do, this is a good agreement, this is reasonable and I feel he’s being fair. To work with a lawyer you want to feel they’re on your side just not collecting a check. I was often asked for last min conversation around 5pm and if I didn’t respond quickly I was told it’s late can we discuss this tomorrow. A very unpleasant way to end a Friday or any day when your going through a court case and unprofessional. I wish I stood up for myself more because I honestly feel my lawyer was more friendly and respectful of the other party than me. The paperwork was signed and they were phone numbers that should have been provided or emails. Medical was listed in my agreement but Liz did not go over this info or provide information on what the other parent was responsible to pay. These things should’ve been clear and mapped out. Long story short after the paperwork was signed the other parent did his part as far as visitation goes but nothing else was followed. This left me going back and fourth with his lawyer asking what should be paid and of course his lawyer could care less about him following his part because why would she. She’s not my lawyer. I was unsatisfied with everything and when I reached out to Liz. I was told I fought for you what else did you want me to do? I clearly stated everything that made me nervous to sign the agreement is what I’m experiencing now. The other parent signed the agreement but only follows areas they want to. I explained a follow up conversation on what to expect next would be nice or if the order isn’t followed how should I move forward. I also asked what if I wanted to use you as my lawyer again? Needless to say she never responded.

He is a wealth of knowledge (never did he have to research a question I asked which attorney could bill extra time to do), genuine ( called to check up on how things were going even after the case was over) , and a beast in the court room but, comes off as kind to get the info from opposing party to help with your case. I’ve used him two times now 2007 and 2014 can say will ONLY use this lawyer with these civil cases . He just gets better and better with time. The only way the bill will be run up is if you call to complain about your case all the time ( that what a shrink is for talk to them about your issues)He is very up front on honest with what he expects the outcome of the case and in my experiences, he was always on point (prepare for the worse hope for the best type of thing). He does not play when he tells you to do something or stop ( will not tolerate it neither)and one should follow his advice to have the best possible outcome. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and does have a quick response. Highly recommend him to anyone!!

Keith Booker was recommended to me and my husband and we hired him to go clear a citation for us didn't hear back from him or secretary for another month or two about court fees and stuff and asking if we paid for it! I was upset I told her I done paid the court fees like she asked me to right after I paid them! She told me to send a proof of payment so I sent the receipt of the money order I bought of 263.00! I asked her how it went and she said everything was fine Keith took care of everything for me and my husband! Today me and my husband got a letter saying my husbands license will be suspended soon because failure to appear in court!!! Wow thanks Keith booker for doing such a great job! Do not hire this guy!!! Paid you to do absolutely nothing! We might as well have just paid the citation in the first place instead of wasting money on you! Our experience with Mr. Harding was informative, but it’s a conversation we could have had over the phone. When I initially called in and explained my husband’s accident I was told by the secretary she spoke to Mr. Harding and he said he would take the case. My husband is wheelchair bound since the accident and we live 3 flights up. So getting him out and in the car to drive to an office that was not wheelchair accessible nor the building just to be told the NC laws and why he can’t take the case was a waist of our time. Once he told us he wouldn’t take our case he rushed to get us out even picked up a phone call while we still had questions as if our time was up. He never lifted his head up to even acknowledge me or my question. We understand because you we were not a win and no money would be won because of the laws here in NC were nothing to you. It was waisted time to sit and fill out paperwork and have to relive the whole nightmare all over again to be told you couldn’t help us. The police report was not even accurate and his secretary pointed out several discrepancies but he never looked at it. This has been a true nightmare and I pray no one has to go through what we have. Sorry we moved to NC

This attorney was recommended by a friend in my divorce and found him to be arrogant, unprofessional, and lazy. He was paid in a lump sum 10k and I did not realize attorneys do not do that in civil cases until I had to find another attorney who advised that it was unprofessional on his part. Once Hamm got his lump sum, he was difficult to contact and more unprofessional in dealing with. He tried to charge me for my file which according to another attorney was illegal. Hamm wanted to do the bear minimum in my case and when he did not get what he wanted immediately wanted to withdraw as counsel as he got his money....horrible experience n wouldn't recommend to my now ex-wife.

He doesn’t relay information effectively or at all. He is also a personal injury attorney. I was told that he would be able to handle my case most definitely and that I would need to come in pay the $500 fee, speak with the lawyer and sign the contract. The day I went in I paid the $500 upfront before he would even speak with me and then told him all my information. He told me he was my lawyer, had me fill out paper work and told me that he would begin working on my case. I left his office and about 1 hour later his assistant calls me to tell me that he is referring me to another lawyer and will not be representing me. I asked would I be getting the $500 back and she said no, why was I not told this before I paid this money? I cannot afford to just throw money out there for nothing! I would not recommend going to this lawyer

When it became obvious that I needed a lawyer, a number of people referred me to Jared. Despite my emotional state in our initial consultation, Jared sat with me for hours reviewing the documents and asking very detailed questions. I was so grateful when he agreed to represent me and I am confident that I would not have been able to reach the result we did without him. Throughout his representation, Jared represented me with the utmost respect and care. He is extremely knowledgeable and qualified in a wide array of practice areas. I loved how he and Nicole utilized a team approach to brainstorm and zealously advocate on my behalf and I appreciate how the team approach did not result in double-billing. Jared took the time to get to know me personally and advise me on all aspects of my case, not simply with respect to the legal considerations, but also the practical and emotional ones, which would have a greater impact on my daily life. There is not a doubt in my mind that he genuinely cared about me and wanted to ensure the best result possible. There were times throughout the case where it became tedious or frustrating (because of the other side) but I never got the impression that he was backing down or advising me to accept a proposal that was not in my best interest. Jared guided me on every aspect of the proceedings and made sure to educate me about all likely possibilities to ensure there were no surprises. Jared was great about following up, checking in, keeping me in the loop, and always considered how this case might impact all aspects of my life. I cannot praise him enough. Thank you for everything, Jared!!!

I agree with the other client who previously stated that Mr. Henderson secretly converses with opposing counsel and talks negatively about his clients. He withholds all the information he obtains with his verbal agreements with opposing counsel. He then proceeds to bill $100 for every email response. I would not refer him to any friends, family or anyone. Maybe he's better in simple bankruptcies but he's definitely not an attorney for complicated cases.

I retained the law firm of Butler & Quinn (see the review on Brad W. Butler) several months ago and it has been a nightmare. Mr. Quinn is also unresponsive, unprepared and until I had a court date with him the first time I thought that he was imaginary. I, like so many others, have tried a numerous amount of times to get in contact with him either by phone or email and have had no success. He talked to me the first time when I retained him and then I didn't see or hear from him for approximately 2.5 months until my court appearance. After the hearing he told me that he didn't have time to talk to me or give any details concerning my case...my case. I then met with one of his paralegals only to be told lies about my case and my options. He was not prepared for the hearing either I must add. The judge had to correct him several times about information on my case. After constantly trying to contact him, his partner Brad Butler called and screamed at me threatening the morning of my hearing date to withdraw from the case because he said that I was too demanding and nasty. All I wanted was information about my case and to speak with my attorney. It is beyond me how either one of them could ever hold a license to practice law. I have since requested a refund of my money and have retained a different attorney. One that does return calls promptly and gives you correct information. Butler and Quinn sugarcoat things to get you in by making false promises and lies. I am currently in the process of reporting both of the to the North Carolina State Bar. I would never hire either one of them again, even if my life depended on it.

Dave handled my divorce. His primary practice, however, is business/corporate law. My experience supported that. Initially Dave seemed very responsive and helpful. However, as my case drew out his response time decreased and I noticed he would contradict his explanations of the law from one conversation to another. I actually had to follow up with him on mulitple occasions to get status updates. As he became unresponsive I had to contact him on his cell phone to get him. On at least one occasion I felt very uncomfortable, as if he was leering at me in an inappropriate manner. Unfortunately for me, by the time I took action to change attorneys, it would have cost me even more money. Ultimately, the issue was resolved out of court, but not because Dave helped negotiate anything. It was all my effort. Based on my experience, I would not recommend him for a divorce case.

I am still suffering from from the negligence of this firm. In order to close on my property, it was required that I put my payment for my federal income tax in escrow with Atty McNaught. When the check was dispersed, there was no identifying information about me on the check (my name or SSN). As a result, the attorney's IRS account was credited with the payment instead of mine. When I called and spoke with the assistant who wrote the check, I was told that the firm completed their obligation of dispersing the check. It was not until four months and several hours on the phone with the IRS later that I was able to remedy this mistake, of course with late and failure to pay fees. However, this nightmare just got rekindled because I cannot renew my social work board license because of "tax issues" and must receive a letter of compliance from the IRS before this license can be renewed. Worked with Richard Kronk for an extended amount of time in which he was a Parent Coordinator and mediated custody issues. When he first got involved in our case he was reasonable, timely, and his decisions made since a majority of the time. This changed in 2021, he became non-responsive, ignored the obvious, stuck with decisions that had proven over and over to not be effective. When issues reached a new level of severity, he actually contributed to them getting much worse rather than achieving any reasonable results. I asked him several times to remove himself from the case, which he refused. I had to file a motion with the court and he was removed by a judge. In my opinion this man should have no part in practicing family law in any capacity. If you have a family law matter go elsewhere.

Non responsive and wildly expensive. He confused my case with another while in court and the judge had to correct him. Needless to say, the outcome was not at all what I had hoped. Through this process, I would reach out to Kronk numerous times and had severe delays in response if any at all. I though, ‘he’s a partner at this firm, I’m sure he’s got this in the bag. Maybe he doesn’t need to resplnd.’ Boy, how wrong I was!

Initially Richard seemed responsive and showed compassion and interest in my case. Unfortunately, after some time he showed less and less interest and became unresponsive to calls and emails. I was left in the dark, not aware of past or current developments in my case in a timely manner. Agreements to file documents and to get things done were not happening, even after several reminders.

Alexander F. Vitale uses aliases since he was released from prison. He filed bankruptcy last year. He can no longer practice law and he can only see his adult daughters in the presence of a court appointed witness.

Mr. Vitale was my court appointed lawyer due to a DSS case with my family. It was all based on my abusive husband's lies about me, and his real abuse. He made DSS believe his coverup. Mr. Vitale did not speak in my defense at all in court, not doing anything to try to reverse the court's opinion (not based on fact.) During the DSS meeting with me, he kept making sure that I was going along with them, not contradicting their lies. He made it like all the DSS's opinion (which was the complete opposite of the truth) was concrete fact, and I didn't have hardly any chance. He did nothing to defend me or to try to help them to see the truth. He himself didn't even listen to me. He kept shutting me up. When I went to say something, he would say "shch! Don't talk! Just listen!" He favors men, and so does not care at all about truth and children's welfare. They need to be with their mother, not their father who is an abuser. He cared not at all. His actions have led to detriment for my children.

We often found ourselves wondering who she was representing. After starting out as an adamant advocate on our behalf, she suddenly changed direction and we still don't know why. During my career, I have often worked with the legal profession. I have never had a lawyer suggest I was bullying them or in some way diminishing their expertise. If questioning legal advice or asking for a better explanation or more detail is bullying, then guilty as charged. I also find it highly unprofessional for a lawyer to threaten to resign when a resolution is at hand. BUYER BEWARE!

At first she was friendly and very responsive. As I began to question her recommendations, her professionalism disappeared. I was not properly informed and guided to accept terms that I was not comfortable with. This review is to help anyone else from being put through what I experienced. Good luck to you.

This attorney is shady and do not hire him or e enough waste your time as he did for me. He asked for way too much information and did not even take my case. He did not give me any copies of the papers I signed and when I asked he longer wanted to continue. He would not even send for release of medical records on behalf of an attorney's request as I thought an attorney is suppose to do in order to ask for records. After I asked for these he gave me bad news and said he couldn't help. Even after he made me feel that I had a case and pretending to care about my injuries saying he understood etc etc. He wasted precious time in which I could have found an attorney over a month ago. He has put me in a more difficult situation and has caused more emotionAl stress.

I contacted Paul Dickinson regarding a potential medical malpractice case. We spoke for over an hour via telephone & he seemed genuinely interested in considering my case. i certified mailed him everything he asked for: personal documents, audio file, & hospital records on CD. I never heard from him again, despite numerous calls & emails, and he never returned anything I sent him. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this attorney. He is very unprofessional & unreliable.

I retained Mr.Butler's law firm for my husband's immigration case 6 months ago. I sincerely regret doing so as I'm never informed about the case. I have to call a thousand times to get through and only to hear that the assistant is busy and to leave a voice mail. I have left several voice mails, and my calls are never returned. When my call does get through, the assistant says that she does not know what is going on with the case that she needs to ask the attorney, but the attorney is not there, etc. An excuse is always made up for the lack of knowledge of my husband's case. I paid this firm a ton of money and they have not resolved the issue. When there are court appearances, the attorney does not show up, only to find out after hours of waiting in the court room, that the hearing was postponed and I was never informed. I cannot take my husband's case somewhere else as this firm has all of the documents, and I can never get a hold of the attorneys or the paralegal, yet I always get their letters about the balance that needs to be paid.

I retained Mr. Butler for a case of mine recently. It has been a nightmare. He is rude, offensive, does not respond at all, definitely did not keep me informed as I retained him over 3 months ago and just met him for the first time today. I could go on and on. He gives out false information and promises, rather his paralegals and firm partner does, then insists that you were "misinformed" and that no such thing was ever said. Don't get me wrong, he is excellent at advertisement and selling his service but that is it. I initially paid him a substantial amount of money and have not seen any progress. Nothing. He did not even show up to a court hearing or inform me that it had been changed. He will not return phone calls, emails etc... One of his paralegals will answer the phone if you call repeatedly for a lengthy amount of time but as I stated they give you false or misleading information. I have now had to retain a different attorney to handle my case and have had to spend an immense amount of money. I have made a demand for the refund of my fees from Mr. Butler and I am reporting him to the North Carolina State Bar. This man does not deserve to hold a law license. Please do not waste your time and money.

Mr. Smith acted improperly by e-mailing a Judge outside of the courtroom and having exparte communications with her regarding my case and also interviewing my children in Judge's chambers and asking them questions when he was not allowed to. I would never use this attorney under any circumstances.

I informed Mr. Smith four days after he received a $6500.00 check and it cleared that I no longer needed his services. We never signed a contract. That was 11/24/13. I asked for an immediate refund minus $1500.00 for his time & troubles. It is 1/2/14 & I have yet to receive an invoice or any money back. We've been in pretty regular communication, but he still hasn't informed me as to an amount or what exactly he charged me for. I have to report him to the Bar Association & file a fee dispute in order to get a decent amount back.

Ryan had little interest and made little effort to provide the service I paid for. I paid for Ryan's to defend me but he was not working for me. In hindsight, I think he was more interested in using me for personal industry introductions. . There was obvious contract violations from the other side and possibly criminal but Ryan had zero interest in addressing the issues. In the end Ryan tried to bill me for a sales pitch for additional services that he could not even provide. Horrible waste of money!

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:

  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
