My opinion of this man is exactly what I wrote in my title. Did the bare minimum for my case when I was a child. Fortunately for him my mom knew zero better and she continued to use him. A kids life was ruined not just temporarily but indefinitely and he blatantly did not care.

I fell out of a tree while working for a company called Cornelison Roofing. We were cutting some trees down and away from home we were working on. A branch that had been cut fell into my ladder while I was on it, 24 ft in the air. The branch twisted my ladder and I fell. When I hit the ground my forearm received a compound fracture. The company had no insurance or workman's comp. So I hired Russ Purvis. To make a long story short ,Russ represented me through several hearings and a deposition of Rick Cornelison the owner of the company. This case was dragged out for 4 years. Me. Cornelison kept telling a different version of what happened to the Judge. We finally caught him in a lie and the Judge set a date for final judgement hearing. Russ contacted me and said the hearing would be about 5 weeks down the road. And that he was pretty sure we would get a favorable judgement. But finding Mr. Cornelisons money could be a problem. The last thing Russ said was he would contact me with the final hearing date. I waited for several months and was never contacted. Finally I called Montee law firm where Russ Purvis was working and his former paralegal told me he had quit the firm a few weeks earlier, and that he quit my case, and that he informed me he was quitting through the mail. She or He or both, lied to me. I received no notification at all. And why would he leave my case when the last hearing was about to happen, with a favorable outcome forseen? Also it was past the time limit for me to hire a different attorney . Now two years later I've got bill collectors hounding me for the 82,000 dollar surgery and rehab that was incurred because of my injury. And now my arm hurts me constantly. So bottom line is I think there were some shady dealings going on between Russ Purvis, and Rick Cornelison. I did find out they grew up in same area together, and it just doesn't make sense why Russ would quit my case when judgement was so near. So if anyone has any ideas I'm open to suggestions on what I should do.

In the summer of 2008 my late husband Cecil and I were involved in a severe motor vehicle accident that totaled our only vehicle. We were both injured and required prolonged hospital stays, resulting in huge medical bills. Mr. Purvis came highly recommended to my husband and I. We were not disappointed, he met us in our home and explained to us the situation and how he would handle our case. Mr. Purvis put our minds at ease. Within 3 days he had a check for our totaled vehicle that he hand delivered to our home. Mr. Purvis fought the insurance to make sure that we got the best settlement. We are very grateful for his hard work and the personal attention he showed to my husband and I. I have and would continue to recommend Mr. Purvis to anyone in need of a hard working and caring attorney.

Ken helped me successfully resolve a very difficult divorce that lasted over a two year period. He really "knows his stuff", and always had wise council when there were difficult decisions to make. I hired Ken to help with my divorce and child custody. His fees were very reasonable, he worked with me on payments, and did a great job. Not sure about others who say he took their money, but that's not what my experience was. Also, Ken would return calls in the evenings and on weekends, something you usually don't expect from an attorney. Great job, great lawyer!

My case is still pending a judgment from the judge so this is an honest review without knowing the exact outcome of my case. Either way it goes my experience with Luke Demaree has been very excellent. I would recommend him to anyone needing a lawyer. His experience, diligence and responsiveness are top notch. My case was a business dispute and I trust, and believe, I got the best representation I could from him and his staff. He worked hard on my case and filed everything on time, was knowledgeble of the system and worked all angles of my case. I was informed and educated along the way and very importantly was billed fairly. I am thankful to have found Luke Demaree and the Kessinger Law Firm. I entered his firm an emotional wreck from my situation and over the course of my case proceedings became confident I was doing everything I could and that my lawyer was doing everything possible to win my case. We hired Brian Costello for our son's third DUI, paid him in cash $5,000. He promised again our son would only get 6-9 months in jail & he got 5 years. Total waste of money

Finally this crook has been disbarred in BOTH Ks and Mo!!! He took my boyfriends parents for $30k. Also Appeared illegally in court . However, due to his idiocy the conviction was set aside and a much better deal was made. How this man lives with himself I’ll never know. He’s the lowest of the low. Costello has finally been DISBARRED from the practice of law in Kansas and received an automatic suspension of his law license in Missouri. Additionally, t has been found that the was practicing law in Illinois without law license in that state. I would suggest that you not engage in any services, including the purchase of insurance policies, with this scoundrel.

Horner was referred to me by legal shield. I Hired her March 1st 2018 she did not actually appear in court 1 time for me and did not do anything to help me while waiting for court set (trail) feb 2019 she then informed me Jan 2019 she needed more money to continue to be my lawyer for trail (feb 2019) after sending me a invoice (after me asking multiple times for invoice) of bugus fees she withheld from my retainer needless to say I was very angry and decided to take my “extra” money to a new lawyer which helped me get everything I wanted and what was owed to me in a matter of 27 days! worst experience ever and really feel ripped off to be honest

This lady has no comprehension of returning communication in a timely manner. You should never have to wait weeks to hear back from a hired professional, not to mention she has a very crappy attitude. This attorney is arrogant and abrasive to his clients ( especially women and children). He will have cases continued repeatedly to increase his billing hours. Several office appointments where we reviewed the same facts repeatedly. Court day was sloppy, and unprepared. Opposing attorney entered several pieces of evidence with no objections that should have been . This made an appeal hearing difficult. He forgot to call my witnesses, and enter some key pieces of evidence we had. This attorney at this point in his career seemed more focused on fraternizing than winning my case.

Do not hire Dan Ross. He is unprofessional and will never return your calls. He is a defense attorney but gave off body language that he was on the victim's side. At sentencing, he turned to his own client and shook his head while victim impact statements were read. Dan Ross is NOT on your side and is NOT someone you want defending you or your loved one. He should rethink being a defense attorney if he thinks so low of his clients.

I hired and paid Attorney Dan Ross while acting as the Power of Attorney for a loved one. Daniel J. Ross was paid in excess of $75,000. Once paid, he left his client in his rearview mirror. When more assertive efforts were made to get Mr. Ross do his job, he retaliated and completely laid down on his client. The sentence received reflects Dan Ross' dereliction of duties and is far worse than what he quoted when his client was deciding whether to plea or go to trial.
The Supreme Court of Missouri manages the state's lawyer discipline system through its Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC). Having now received a copy of the 24 page report from the OCDC regarding Dan Ross' disciplinary action in 2011, it is clear other individuals and families experienced exactly what we have. Our letter to the OCDC is in the mail.
