Jerry Burleson represented me in a minority shareholder case, and I was very pleased with his legal services and the resolution of the case. I wanted to be involved behind the scenes in the legal research, the discovery and the decisions involving my shareholder case. To my delight, Jerry was quite willing to allow me to do that. Jerry developed a creative legal theory based on the facts of my case and he pursued it in court with vigor. Jerry kept me informed of developments on my case, and there were numerous times when he invited me to his office to work with him on discovery and preparing the case for trial. He could easily have done these things without my being so directly involved, but he seemed pleased to have my assistance. I felt confident throughout Jerry’s handling of my case because Jerry was always a step ahead of the defense. This was a difficult case, with little precedent and hard to prove. Despite it looking to be an uphill battle, Jerry stood firm, which I appreciate greatly. I think many lawyers might have tossed in the towel at a few points as the case progressed. In the end, it was Jerry’s extensive legal research specific to the legal theory he had developed that made the difference: the court was persuaded that my case had a solid footing, despite the constant rhetoric and objections of the defense counsel. I recommend Jerry Burleson as an attorney to anybody in California with a shareholder case. In my experience working with Jerry, if there is a case there, he can sniff it out and turn it into money!

Jerry Burleson's focus on minority shareholders rights was very evident when he took my stockholder fraud case, I had previously spoken to at least 4 other attorneys who all had declined taking my case in the guise of it "not being a strong case". In my opinion, it was more them not being familiar with the part of corporate law that deals specifically with my case. But Jerry did. He has the expertise, knowledge and experience.
Jerry immediately agreed that my case was strong and have lots of merits, even with several potential statute of limitation issues. We were also up against a deep-pocketed adversary employing several law firms which did not intimidate Jerry at all. He handled the case very well on his own coming up with legal strategies to deal with those challenges. I was quite pleased with the eventual settlement that he successfully negotiated in my behalf.
I emphatically endorse Jerry as an attorney for any kind of stockholder case.

Jerry took the time to read through the numerous documents that I sent him, and my confidence in him grew as he made recommendations on how I should proceed with the case. Jerry was able to overcome a lot of problems with my case, such as a potential statute of limitations defense, and I felt that his knowledge and experience in shareholder cases gave us an edge. Mr. Sharp did a fantastic job for us. He was so good, so utterly prepared in the depositions that the other side caved in. Undoubtedly the thought of having to face him in court was the deciding factor. No doubt their attorney breathed a sigh of relief also. A simply masterful performance. We avoided court and that in itself was a great victory. Mr. Sharp advised us from the beginning that was the best result and then he made sure of it. Our only disappointment was in not getting to see him try the case in court, as he had produced overwhelming documentation and was so thoroughly prepared. The other side of course saw all that and reluctantly threw in the towel. Mr. Sharp get our highest recommendation. He earned it.

James was fantastic. He worked hard on my case and it showed. When my company was sued (class action) for allegedly violating the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act out of an Arkansas state court, James researched the law and my case and discovered that the plaintiff’s allegations had not investigated their claims at all.
Not only did he win the case by filing a Motion to Dismiss (in Arkansas), he sued the plaintiff on my behalf for malicious prosecution and abuse of process.
He went above and beyond—and he really cared about my interests. Once you find an attorney like this, you keep him for life! Since that first case, he has handled several other matters for me, and each time, I am more than satisfied, I am grateful!

I received an I-526 Notice of Intent to Deny letter from USCIS, my family was really nervous, I consulted many immigration lawyers, who said a NOID from USCIS is usually hard to fight, the success rate for my case is 0. I had a relatively small legal issue in San Diego regarding several thousands of dollars in fines that I had received over the years which I had continuously chose to neglect. Charles helped me handle all of the penalties in court and even went to the court house with me free of charge. I know that this is not his usual area of expertise and possibly extremely trivial compared to his usual casework (and definitely not anywhere close to his usual fee) but I was extremely grateful nonetheless. From what I understand he handles all of his cases with the same integrity and ease. I definitely would recommend Charles Maurer to people I know with more serious problems.. and hopefully deeper pockets than mine.

We have referred Rob to many people over the years. He is honest as lawyers come. A year after one of our claims had been settled, we received a check for over $1000 from Rob. When we questioned it, Rob told us he found it in his trust account and when he tracked it, it turns out it was money my health insurance company refused for reimbursement for my injuries. Rob felt it rightly belonged to me. I would have never known about this money and he could have just as easily absorbed it. My extended family and friends have used him several times over the past 20 years and, given a choice, I wouldn't use any other lawyer for personal injury.

While awaiting to be licensed for practice in the State of California, Scott Blumenthal of Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP already provides some excellent non-legal and highly professional services.
After suffering gross workplace abuse for some time before being wrongfully let go, I approached a Church friend who is an attorney but not an employment attorney. My friend introduced me to his wife who is. After listening to me, my friend’s wife summarily concluded that I did not have a case and that she was sorry she could not assist me. Again, that was the wife of someone I refer to as a friend from Church.
It took me a few days to recover from that disappointment. I next searched for “employment attorney” online and called the first one that I came across. I emailed the firm with a brief explanation of my case. The very next day, I received a call back from someone who described himself as Scott Blumenthal. He was calling to acknowledge my email-inquiry. Without providing any legal advice, Scott -as I quickly came to refer to me, promised me that his law firm was going to give very careful consideration to my inquiry. Scott spoke and has always since with a very professional yet reassuring voice for someone I never met and still have not to date. Now that was a change from my Church friend’s.
It fell upon another attorney at Scott’s firm of Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP to take over the legal aspect of my case, advise and carry it on. But Scott was always close by. For having been the first voice I heard from at his Law firm, Scott was the one who took down the intake notes about my complaint. Whenever I had a question or simply wanted to inquire about the case updates, I emailed the firm. Scott was always the one to either email or call me back with the reply. Scott displayed knowledge of the Law, even experience with how employers’ legal teams operate.
When you seek help after being abused at a workplace and find someone who is ready to talk to you, someone who provides you with timeframes for settlement and payment, you can only be heartily grateful. I highly recommend Scott Blumenthal.

During the summer and fall of last year, my two eldest sisters were called home leaving me as trustee to my older sister’s estate. There was a complicating matter in that she lived in California and I reside in Michigan.
I contacted the Avant Law Corporation to assist me with settling my sister’s estate. I worked closely with Neal Scharm and his secretary, Maria Bautista, whom I would recommend highly to anyone who was in my position.
They provided me a packet that detailed and outlined all the steps that I needed to accomplish. I am sure that all law firms do this, but Neal and Maria went above and behind by helping me with every step along the way. They were always available to answer questions, and they often provided solutions that I wasn’t aware of.
Neal also provided contacts to me to assist with the selling of my sister’s residence. He put me in touch with Bill Bender who helped ready her house for sale, and with Richard Andrews, the realtor who sold the house for me.
While I am sure that Neal, Bill and Richard had other clients while I was their client, they always made me feel important. I would go so far as saying that they became more like family to me, who had MY best interests in mind.
Everything went as smoothly as I could imagine, and I am happy to say that my sister’s estate has been finalized.
So, the question is this: Would I give my recommendation to the Avant Law Corporation, and in particular Neal Schram, Maria Bautista, Bill bender, and Richard Andrews? Yes, without a doubt!

I am sure that all law firms do this, but Neal and Maria went above and behind by helping me with every step along the way. They were always available to answer questions, and they often provided solutions that I wasn’t aware of.
Neal also provided contacts to me to assist with the selling of my sister’s residence. He put me in touch with Bill Bender who helped ready her house for sale, and with Richard Andrews, the realtor who sold the house for me.
While I am sure that Neal, Bill and Richard had other clients while I was their client, they always made me feel important. I would go so far as saying that they became more like family to me, who had MY best interests in mind.
Everything went as smoothly as I could imagine, and I am happy to say that my sister’s estate has been finalized.
