Juscha was a referral from our corporate counsel in Chicago when my wife and I entered into a real estate contract for a vacation property in the Wisconsin Dells. The purchase was very complicated due to multiple mortgages, liens, judgments, encroachments, HOA delinquencies, and other "surprises". Attorney Evans represented me in a difficult divorce. He did a great job in proving my ex-spouse's real income (he was self employed) and getting me the support I needed. I worked with John on a case where I had loaned money to an elderly couple in what was represented to me as a family real estate venture--- involving the couples two adult children. Due to much feuding in the family and then the deaths of the parents this litigation ran on for years. The surviving children did everything they could to try and avoid repaying me. I worked with John for 5 years. I ultimately have collected on the judgement in my favor. It was a pleasure to work with John. He did an excellent job for me. Definitely 5 Stars!!

John Starkweather handled my case aggressively and was very professional. John did not play games or allow opposing attorneys to draw us into long drawn out games or arguments that had no merit. The opponent had several law firms including several attorneys who all came up with creative and at times bizarre arguments and attempts to drag the case out for at least a year before we could continue with the subject matter. John was quick to respond to the games that some attorneys play. John would be specific in his motions as to the real subject matter and try to keep the court/judge informed or in the direction of the merits of the case. John would quickly argue against the ridiculous arguments of the other attorneys, he would stay on track of the merits of the case we were arguing. John’s investigation was thorough prior to proceeding in the direction that would lead us to winning the case.
At one phone hearing with the judge, one attorney stated that Mr. Starkweather has 15 days to respond to an answer filed by opposing attorneys just the day before the hearing. Mr. Starkweather stated that the response had already been filed that morning and should be on the judge’s desk and sent to all opposing attorneys including their emails inbox. The other attorney’s only response was “you’re fast”. The judge then set the next hearing date for the following week. John e-mailed me the response and I was reviewing it around 11PM the night before, based on how fast he sent me the final draft I knew he wanted to file it first thing in the morning without john even telling me. Prior to filing motions or answers with the court, John would almost always send me an e-mail copy for review prior to filing. The only exception was when an opposing attorney filed something that was so off base or ridiculous, in that instance he immediately responded to the court and copied me after the fact which I believe was the appropriate thing to do. The only thing that slowed the case down was the required waiting time we had to give the opposing attorneys to do their filings. Johns filings were quick and thorough and at times the same day as we received an answer or motion.
When it came to presenting the facts of the case, John was well prepared and brought the factual issues to the table in a way that opposing counsel could not argue at the same facts but had to try to argue a type of common law argument. John avoided going down their road of arguments and stuck with the facts of our case. John did a great job and in the end we didn’t even have to have a trial which I was comfortable with John handling. The defendant agreed to release a lien he had on my property and I didn’t pay him anything. This was my goal from the start, I would call that a win!

If you have plenty of time for things to work out, Hazelbaker is a fantastic attorney!! Very smart, very knowledgeable, very interested in both your interests and doing things right. And frankly, for most legal cases, the best way to proceed is unrushed. He's not billing you for time passed. But the passage of time softens the stubbornness of your opponent, makes them more reasonable, and allows more relevant facts to come to the surface and sort themselves out. So he does not rush things through. If you are not in a huge hurry (like you have a year or more) you'll get great service, a much better outcome, and pay a very reasonable price!!
Plus, he's a super-nice guy, easy to talk to, knows your case, knows the law, explains everything to you, honors your wishes, and is willing to go to the matt for you.

I had a legal sitution that festered for over five years. Complicating the matter was that I received a judgement in another state and my opponent sought to evade payment in Wisconsin. This mattered little to Mr. Thill. He quickly registered our judgement in Wisconsin and began proceedings. What impressed me the most was that Mr. Thill kept at it no matter what my opponent attempted, tried, or said. I had recently had an unfortunate matter involving property and family. Sadly the situation could not be resloved without the need for legal intervention. When I received a speeding citation last summer, i was in danger of losing my drivers license which would have really made life very difficult. Mr. Weininger went above and beyond all expectations and was able to minimize the damage for me, getting my offense cut in half, saving me the hassle of losing my license. He also was able to have the fine amount significantly reduced! I was charged with disorderly conduct on a government installation ,I was not charged at first ,I hired a lawyer to get the charges dropped ,this case went uncharged for a year and when I received notice that I was being charged the lawyer I hired wanted more money to show up in court ...to make a long story short I had already paid this lawyer too much for doing nothing so I fired her and hired William Richard Jones. he was on the spot he came in and argued my case got the charges dropped and was done in less than an hour although we had agreed to a much higher price he only charged me for the time he spent on the case which was about 10% of my previous lawyer . He was professional and courteous at all times and showed a great concern for my case and the outcome that I wanted one of the best lawyers I have dealt with in a long time
