It's been over 5 yrs since my divorce & every year, I have to lawyer up because my MSA has so many loopholes & no penalties if my ex doesn't provide me w/ the correct documentation or compensation. So this year, as I lawyer up I feel compelled to write a review about Deborah Chames & her assistant at the time, Christina Echerverri. I hired Deborah because at the time, I thought these women were strong, smart, and caring lawyers who would have my back. I had just come out a 20 year abusive marriage and was weak physically and mentally. Upon our first consultation, as i relay what is going on, Deborah puts her hand up and says shush. I took this as a sign of strength, that she would be the bull in the china shop I needed on my side. I could not have been more wrong. During this first meeting, Deborah was appalled that my first lawyer (who I thought wasn't aggressive enough for my manipulative ex) was not able to get my cell phone returned to me that my ex wrestled out of my hands, along with my wallet and car keys (which he often took from me). I thought, she is going to help! She will be my strength my voice that I don't have right now. Looking back, I could not have been more wrong. I feel like both lawyers not only took advantage of me but of my father's wallet. They only saw dollar signs. I had to tell my dad the horrors I had been living under with my 3 kids. To this day, he is still upset with my lawyers. During the 6 or so months of working with the 2 women, I would questioned things but I would drop it I had no confidence after literally being tortured physically, emotionally and financially. When I did get up enough nerve to ask a question, Christina would get frustrated and she would get Deborah on the line who proceeded to screech at me. Her high pitched shrill voice took more time to dissipate then the wake from my contentious divorce. All in all, they bullied me, oer and over again & I acquiesced for fear of Deborah getting mad at me. Looking back, the few times they were nice, was when I had to come to town to get ready for one of many trials that never happened. They were nice bc they billed my dad for hours getting ready, when they probably knew no trial was to happen. My dad spent close to 6 figures, because they insisted my ex had no money. I kept insisting he will bounce back, he always did. I even hired a forensic accountant, who charged my dad close $30k & did not find anything. After the divorce, I found out that he owed the IRS $80k & then they came after me for the money. One time, an issue came up & I had to speak to Deborah (I cannot remember the issue) & she called me back & preceded to screech at me & tell me I ruined her son's engagement party! I got off the phone and cried. Much like the time I was on the phone w/ Christina, and I was asking her a question she didn't care for, when a squirrel ran out in front of my car & I ran it over. I got upset & was like OMG, I just ran over a squirrel! Christina proceeded to tell me to pay attention & focus on her in a very sharp tone and I said, I have to go and hung up. These women are cold, unemotional, and deceiving. Do not mistake what you think is fierceness and compassion as that! Like I said, I have had to lawyer up every year since my divorce because of my disastrous MSA, to which, other lawyers, even on my ex's side have voiced they have never seen such a poorly worded sections in a document. Took me years to forgive my lawyers so the weight could lift off my shoulders. I feel terrible my dad had to pay and I am embarrassed I picked such a bad husband but also in my opinion, very bad lawyers. Today, my ex flies private, has 2 homes & makes well over 6 figures. I on the other hand, can only make $40k or he can amend my alimony. And in the end, I never received my cell phone back. It was all just smoke and mirrors. I left my name on this review bc they don't intimidate or scare me anymore. Be kind.

Deborah Chames was not the attorney who had my best interest at heart. I paid her way more than I could ever afford to get a settlement of nothing. My ex husband was ordered to pay $800 a month for two kids while I was left with a bill of $27,00 from this lawyer. Do yourself a favor, get someone else!

Where I can start, this is the WORST law office ever... I have hired them for the closing of my new house. It was awful!, they take a long time to do the minimal things. after days with my title they sent it to the bank with issues and my closing was delayed because of that, after struggling with them I was so happy I will get rid of them after closing... at least that's what I thought BUT after the closing, they forgot to give me the Warranty deed, I had to call them multiple times for them to send it and when they did it was not registered I had AGAIN called them like 100 times asking for the Deed registered, they claim they sent it to Miami Dade county and that they were taking a lot of time I then called the Miami Dade to ask for the status of my deed and guess what? they never sent it!!. They said they sent it on April 9 but Miami Dade has already processed Deeds sent on May 21.
IF YOU CAN CHOOSE ANOTHER LAW OFFICE PLEASE DON'T HESITATE BECAUSE YOU WILL GET NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THIS ONE!.
PS: Also I am not the only one who have had issues with them my realtor told me of one of her customers was not able to close his house because of the incompetence of this law office.

Mr. Speiller is affordable; however, the adage "you get what you pay for" is true. Mr. Speiller represented me in negotiations and did not keep my best interest in mind. I made several clear written and verbal statements about what terms I wanted in the settlement and he did not include them in the settlement. The settlement was one-sided (not in my favor) and I had to deal with the fall-out from him not including those provisions I requested. I felt as though he was sometimes misleading when communicating with me. He is not helpful and I would not recommend his services.

I met Mr. Marinello at a hearing I had with the County for some code violations. The case being heard prior to mine was his. His presentation was very prepared and very professional. I was very impressed. I asked him if he could represent me in my case and he agreed. Mr.Marinello was a God send. He immediately took my file and crossed examined me after the County Assistant attorney finished and savede from going to jail. I will eternally be greatfull to Mr. Marinello for his services.

When you hire a lawyer is for them to be like your Guardian Angel not to have to be arguing with them to receive the right medical care and their help to obtain the best medical attention not having to wait four months to actually receive help to get an MRI while in pain also being dropped by my doctor for the lack of professionalism handled by this lawyers assistant. My wife and I were referred to and hired Mr Shoot earlier this year. Our experience with Mr Shoot was not good from the begining. He was not knowledgeable of the statutes we were relying on to win the case. Unfortunately, he did not treat us in a professional manner nor he relayed concern for our case. His billing manners were questionable, as he would demand payments in cash, without providing itemized receipts. We are unhappy with his service and his treatment towards with us. I do not recommend his service.

Mr Kevin Colbert is my current Attorney appointed to me by the court's for my appeal and Mr Kevin Colbert has been on my case for 5 months now and has only responded to my texts messages 3 times .Mr Kevin Colbert does not answer calls and does not answer questions,i have been calling Mr Kevin Colbert about the decision on my appeal which was on Wednesday about my appeal he had told me on his text message on Tuesday thay the decision of my appeal would be on Wednesday , so I waited for a response and bo answer from Mr Kevin Colbert and I have been calling him and texting him to please communicate with me about my case but he has failed to communicate back about my appeal and that is very unprofessional.

THE BACKGROUND:
I called this attorney because I have an active case in a business dispute with a business partner. I own vacation rentals and me and the partner have properties where I operate the vacation rentals.
In the dispute, the opposing party filed a frivolous eviction as a negotiation tactic. The case was about to be thrown out but I was going to offer this attorney the rewarding attorneys fees as a strategy to discourage the partner from filing frivolous lawsuits.
This guy didn't have enough experience to even understand the simple business dispute case with an attached landlord/tenant case.

STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!! My case was simple. 3rd degree felony telling a bad cop (Miami PD Union President) he is going to lose for a non justified arrest on a misdemeanor for public disturbing the peace after I and my daughter got beat by no less than 6 men. I went to the Attorney as she read good on police abuse cases (I should have read all her reviews first) She came across as sincere and very religious. She led me to believe this will be tough, even though I thought otherwise and wanted $9500 for all the work through any trial. I trusted her and paid. In the mean time it was one way communication between myself to her. I investigated the Officer and sent documentation of his years of disservice as well as making up charges. His numerous civil complaints and even the MPD Standard Operating Procedure versus where in my case he never followed this violating my rights. No response. On a Zoom or in person meeting, it was not made clear to me, the DA decided not to pursue so it was dismissed. At best her office did $500 worth of work filing the original documents.
Now having paid $9500 for at best $500 worth of work you would think she would do another $500 of work at best to get it expunged??? NO!! Her workload was too large and recommended her friend at another $700 to do it???
One would think she has some morals or ethics and would refund some of the $9500 for doing $500 of work??? No!!! I requested both through her email portal and no response.
In addition before excepting the criminal case she was more curious on civil action where she could make bigger money. But when her other Attorney stated not a good case only then she did the criminal my guess knowing it was an easy case and easy money.
Moral of the story is do not use this Law Firm. Do not be fooled by the sincere, godly attitude. Do not pay an Attorney initially all in, pay in pieces. Most Attorneys work that way.
Why was I treated this way from this Firm? Probably greed, mixed with lack if morals, ethics??? Hard to tell because for $9500 I had little time to learn about this Attorney outside of a fraudulent tone and approach to how she works. STAY AWAY.

This lawyer actually deserves zero stars, because she did NOTHING for us. Let me explain to be objective. We came for a consult in August with my husband, let all his papers, paid for the consult 100$ and we were promised that Mrs Roffe is gonna call us back within a week to let us know her opinion about the case after she sees the papers. Today is November 26!! We’ve been calling her and she never answered the calls, until we called from the unknown number, we’ve been texting her (because before meeting with her we were discussing the consult date via messages as well) and she never replied our messages for more than 3 months. Obviously she didn’t call us as was promised as well. Neither within a week nor within 3 months. After all this time we managed to reach her by call from another phone number. And all she said - I can’t help in this case. And that we can come for the documents tomorrow. I understand that she couldn’t help, but AT LEAST for 100$ that she took she HAD to call and let us know about this. We tried to ask for the money refund but we were told it’s impossible. NEVER start any business with this “lawyer”. It’s just lack of respect, professionalism and simply it’s fraud. I have no idea who is writing all that 5 star reviews but I will send my review to any possible web site!

Absolutely the worst attorney I’ve ever dealt with . All those negative reviews you are reading and 100 percent correct . She is not an attorney she is a sale person . As soon as she collected her money she neglected and evaded total communication when all I needed was a release consent form . Her response being that her job is done . When I finally got a hold of her she sounded so frustrated and rude and hanged up the phone ! The worst unprofessional attorney ever . Due to her actions and neglect on the final remains of my case I will be submitting a complaint to the Florida bar and let them handle it .

Difficult post, but hard to explain you entire experience with your attorney. We had contracted Mr. Diaz to assist us with our asylum case, that we later changed because we were married. We paid $5k for our asylum case and almost another $5k after we dismissed our asylum case. You would assume your attorney would attend your interview with UCSIS with you, but not the case. You think Mr. Diaz would be a little more concerned about his cases, but that's not the case. If a person isn't on top of their own case, this office does nothing. We still don't have copies of the documents we filed almost two years ago. Simply a money mill!
