Nick is an aggressive attorney which I liked, however he did not communicate with me as much as I'd like. After we settled with the adverse carrier I never heard from him again and received my check in the mail. I even thanked him in an email, still no reply. He received more than a third of my settlement and I just expected him to be personable, since he presented himself that way when he wanted to take on my case. His paralegal Amber was great however and I appreciate all she did for my case!

We found this lawyer rather confusing, at our first meeting, our case became a much larger concern-he added defendants, making it all much more money & time than we could afford. We were not pleased with being asked to take all the financial risks, asked to pay an “estimated fees” amount of 1000s of $$ before case work, & reimbursed only IF favorable courts.Costs maybe endless, high risk-time & money. Felt pressure to sign, i.e.:comments of how busy he'd be soon.We like taking our time re: big decisions-Qs thoroughly & clearly answered.Needed to understand his entire plan before we'd consider signing. On the positive he does take time answering Qs, explanations intimidating -felt we had to know more law to understand, kept reminding him we're laypersons. Lawyers have a $$ amount in mind when they take a case, but he wouldn’t give us a potential award number. We simply had to pass. If the contract had been truly contingent, we believe we would have probably have had him represent us.

Just to be transparent, I have not retained Mr. Ginsberg because he is super busy on his caseload but I just wanted to give a 5 star review because he took 20 minutes out of his day to call me, talk about my case with me (he is one of the go-to attorneys if your case involves uber or lyft) and just help me out and give me some general advice. He was immensely personable and it seems to me that anyone would be really lucky to have him as an attorney. And at the end, he gave me some great recommendations for attorneys and how to help myself in this stressful situation.

Kevin and Cathy did a fantastic job representing me. They have integrity, and even though they were out of state, they knew my state’s regulatory system well. Really nice, hard working pair. Thank you two for all that you do! I’m so so thankful for you! :)

I used Kevin for employment and harrassment issues and was extremely satisfied with how knowledgeable and personal the entire office was. I actually left the country a few times during my case and Kevin was GREAT at tracking me down over a different method when I would be without phone or email on certain continents. I was pleased with accuracy and fairness of billing and Communication was more than sufficient. It's not a very aggressive firm but in no way passive or colluding and will absolutely put a firm stand to protecting your legal and civil protections afforded under US law.

My experience with this office was primarily conducted through email contact, as I live in another city. It was a different experience than any other legal counsel I have used, and for a period of time I was somewhat concerned with the progress; however when the time came to present my case, I was thoroughly prepared, and the outcome was as good as any I could have imagined. I recommend this office for any medical professional in need of competent counsel.

Mark Kramer has no integrity. I hired Mark: he represented me for over a year, and sat on his *ss for 12 months, when it came time for the trial, the bottomline is, - - he was unprepared and a slam-dunk situation became the other parties' easy win...

Find any other practice than Kramer and Associates. When I paid my fee to discuss my case Mark came late to my appointment and was unprepared to discuss. He had me believing we had a chance to fight my case. If I would have known this was all a waste of time, I would not have spent the time, effort and emotional toll on fighting. I had to pay a second time to have a different Lawyer in this firm to look at my case. This one at least listened and was prepared to discuss my case. The worst I dropped my case and had to fight to get any sort of refund remaining on my retention fee. Mark told me refund would come in to 50% installments. Absolutely unacceptable as the client we are REQUIRED to pay their fee.

Upon hiring Mark I had a critical filing deadline to contest a fraudulent restraining order, which he missed. I was instructed to direct contact through his assistant, who did not respond. I had very sporadic returns from Mark's office throughout my case until near the end. When his assistant, who seemed perpetually distracted, finally returned my emails she had botched paperwork enough to where I felt it necessary to physically visit her at the office, then when we met she seemed very agitated, and needed calming and reminding to give me copies. From this point forth all my pertinent contact was directly with Mark, who usually seemed disinterested and intimidated by a female opposing counsel (or too close). Contact was so degraded at times that I was accused by the opposition of deliberately delaying, among other allegations of obstruction, insult tactics, and slights, but I was never defended by Mark. When I contacted his office by phone or visited, the office receptionist was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. She came to be known as The Gargoyle at the Gate. Come to find out that the assistant I tried to depend on had quit during my case. There was eventually a settlement that was essentially what I had originally offered prior to involvement of two lawyers, and a ridiculous amount of time and extraneous expense for no worthwhile assistance. I believe I could have negotiated this case, and representing and defended myself as well or better pro se.

I've worked with Benjamin Rosenthal for over 25 years as our business attorney. He's proved our cases successfully over the years based on facts. It's good to have someone on our side you can speak with honestly to get results.

We had a horrible situation with Benjamin Rosenthal. Upon our original consult, he told us we had a very strong case based off a complicated termination that involved being fired after threatening legal counsel. He said that was illegal and if there was a slam dunk, this would be it (although he did say there was no such thing as a slam dunk). Based on this legal advice, we opted to pay hourly and not go contingent which was offered. For the demand letter, we suggested he include some other angles as this was an egregious employment situation and there were other angles that could have helped gain momentum but he insisted this was the best angle and proceeded to send us a draft of the demand letter on only this angle. The demand letter felt more like a copy and paste letter and he had very basic mistakes, such as addressing the parties involved incorrectly. He had to look it up which blew us away that he didn't know how to formally address men in the plural given his profession. He did include our minor revisions and the demand letter was now ready to be sent. JUST BEFORE SENDING IT (AFTER ALREADY RACKING UP CLOSE TO 2K IN LAWYER FEES)... he called in the very late afternoon to say that, oh btw, the statute he had originally referred to was worded quite differently from how he remembered and it pretty much completely invalidated our case. Basically, firing someone for THREATENING counsel IS NOT illegal, firing someone for actually OBTAINING counsel IS illegal. He even admitted it was now an entirely different potential for a favorable outcome as it was now a much weaker case. Instead of the tough slam we thought (and were told) we would be sending, we sent a slow lob that we got absolutely burned with. It was embarrassing. We felt stupid and looked petty in front of our former employers. It felt like a total bait and switch. When you pay someone $350/hr, you expect them to know there stuff. After that bombshell in which we were truly shell shocked, he then says, "I want to get this out today". We had stomach aches knowing how badly things had all the sudden turned and how our former employers would manhandle the situation. It felt like he cared more about getting it done than doing it right or what was in our best interest. He gets paid either way, and that was obvious by how he handled it. The response from our employer's paralegal (yes, they are so cheap, they used a paralegal) absolutely nailed the problem with the wording. This paralegal's response seemed top notch compared to what we sent (although dishonest which was par for the course with this employer). He was detailed, specific, and the tone was effective. I honestly couldn't help but think, so this is what it should have looked like instead of the copy and paste lets-gather-for-tea tone that we sent. There were other things having to do with unemployment that he admitted he didn't know much about so quite honestly, I am not sure what his expertise is but we certainly didn't experience it. I would stay far away and wish we would have. It made an already bad experience, so, so much worse. And, btw, we did free consultations with another lawyer and a 30 year HR professional turned paralegal afterwards and they said that angle was terrible. After receiving the response, Ben kept trying to come up with cases that justified him sending the demand letter, but no one else, including a couple of lawyers, and a 30 year HR professional turned paralegal, believed we had a case on this angle. Lessons learned.... the hard way. Now we get to pay $2k for being humiliated and we have to let all the other valid points go.

I had excepted a sales job position with a company and within 4 months of employment I was dealing with work discrimination and was being discriminated against by my former bosses and was really mistreated because of my disabilities (which they denied of course) After a few months I just couldn't take it anymore and was calling other attorny's on this issue I found that every attorney I called didn't really understand my pain nor did they care about my case until I talk to Ben who immediately step up to the plate right away and defended me, ultimately getting my 2 former bosses FIRED because of what was going on at work. I didn't have any money at the time so Ben told me he would take my case on contingency. Ben not only protected my rights but he also went above and beyond seeking damages for what had happen to me @ work by my former bosses @ which my former company had to pay. I also forgot to mention before hiring Ben I was working with a former attorney who had mess up my case and just went MIA (missing in action) I could never get hold of the guy so then I had to go back looking for an attorney which I then discovered Ben. If you have been made fun of or pick on because of your handicap in life you owe it to yourself to call Ben. Don't give up on the fight most importantly don't let this go on. You have the right as a human being to live in harmony and not to suffer. I can recall many night of not being able to sleep because of what was going on. Despite the fact that I was a hard workeer there are still curuel people in this world looking to make life more difficult and I found Ben to be my guardian angel. Thanks

Alex is incredibly smart, measured, thoughtful and has a personal nature that will make you feel at ease. 5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.

  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
