We hired Taylor Kittell for help with estate planning and she was terrific. We paid a flat fee, which meant that she didn't benefit from spending extra time with us. Nevertheless, she explained our options to us thoroughly and with great patience and she was quick to respond to follow-up questions or concerns. The legal assistants were also lovely. We also had time pressures because my husband was in town for only a short period and Taylor was able to expedite the process and get everything done before he left. All in all, a great experience.

Jim helped me through a difficult situation when my now ex-wife moved out unexpectedly and hired an attorney. Jim gave me sound legal advice and provided prompt responses to her attorney's proposals. When the dust settled I got a divorce. Afterward, Jim helped me re-write my will and clean up all the loose ends of paperwork and things to file that I hadn't even thought of. Mr. Huegli is the finest attorney I have ever known. He has an uncanny ability to research and locate all evidence and put forth the finest preparation for trial. He represented us in the successful prosecution of an individual fraudulently promoting himself as a financial advisor to an elderly member of our family. His unyielding efforts were central to evidence prepared for the county prosecutor leading to the conviction of a perpetrator on more than 10 counts of first degree theft. I had been in a bicycle accident and chose to handle the claim without hiring a lawyer. Everything went smoothly until I was settling the claim some time later. I received a letter with language and twisting legal terminology I didn't quite understand and wasn't confident signing. I called several layers who would only agree to take on an entire case when all I need was consultation for this one aspect of the claim. I found Charlie online, gave him a call, and he reviewed the letter via email at no charge even though I was willing to pay. Charlie assured me the letter was okay and pointed out a few details I should aware of. This enabled me to settle with peace of mind. Pretty amazing. I was visiting the United States and was injured by a car while cycling. Charley and his staff were wonderful at helping me to navigate the complicated American health care and payments system, as well as arranging for every provider to get their appropriate amount.
Charley also provided extra services, like picking up my broken bike and driving it to a shop for evaluation when I was too injured to do so myself.
All in all, Charley was professional, helpful, and respectful in every way, and his staff were great at communicating and helping with all the bureaucracy involved in healthcare and insurance following a serious injury.

I was recommended to Kathy S. Root for resolving a divorce case with a potentially complicated international child custody component to it. Kathy and her team were consistently courteous, professional, firm, and sober-minded, while also being empathetic regarding my experience and supportive of how I wished the case to proceed. It had been both confusing and stressful over the years, as I had initially attempted to get legal help to resolve problems in the original paperwork from other legal counsel, with no luck. In a final attempt, I feel very fortunate to have found and received the legal help and guidance from Ms. Root and her team. We worked through several challenging obstacles, explaining legal terms and steps required along the way, and then ultimately receiving the required military calculation information for final negotiations and terms of the final documents. The goal was to file clarifying divorce military benefits paperwork, for the outcome of a revised court order to receive these benefits. After much effort by all, we received this new court order.
In the beginning, I also stated that I wanted a first priority placed on keeping my kids out of the entire process, out of respect and sensitivity for them, as they should not be caught in the middle of this situation. Again, Ms. Root and her team responded with compassion and understanding for my request, and we proceeded with that in mind. Kathy Root was the stable behind my dramatic divorce 13 years ago/ which is still proceeding with other issues to this day. I was arrested for a duii while visiting Portland Oregon. I called his office the day I was released from booking. He called me th hat night. Attorney Lesh explained everything to me in a way that was so easy to understand and he gave me all the time I needed to let it all sink in. He was so nice and didnt get frustrated when I asked him to repeat his explanations (sometime more than two or three times). Since I'm from Massachusetts he was able to get the judge to allow me to return home while waiting for mg court date. He even was able to reschedule my date to a week I was returning to Portland. Once in court he advised me and was able to get me into the diversion program which when completed would get my case dismissed. He was even able to get th he judge to allow me to complete the program in Massachusetts. I would highly recommend David to anyone needing representation. He is down to earth and very approachable. He is always available via phone or email and he always returns calls if he is unable to talk at the time. I dont want to say how much he charged me, but I spoke to 4 others before selecting him. His cost was very very reasonable and I feel I received as good or better service than any of the BIG FIRMS... I hope I never need his services again but if I ever get into trouble again I would not hesitate to call his office. Please give him a call... you wont be disappointed!!!

Jill Petty was quite professional and competent regarding my case, based on an over-eager arrest and charge for DUI. She selected the best approach for dismissal before arraignment, which worked: central to it was to offer witness statements to rebut the field sobriety test. She did not urge me to plead guilty and go for diversion, as the first lawyer I contacted said i should do (and for more money). She was reasonable in her cost to deal with the case, and I am very pleased with the outcome. She understood that I was quite upset with the position I was in before dismissal, as pleading guilty would have made it more difficult to run my business and would have cost me lost time and money. She also counseled me not to attempt a civil wrongful arrest suit to recover lost business profit, moving violation ticket fee, impound fee, and etc.; it turned out that the ticket related to the stop was waived as well.
I highly recommend her.

During Vacationing in Las Vegas, my Wife Suffered a Stroke.. Fortunately she pulled through and was able to start a couple of different rehabilitation program.. Unfortunately she was unable to go back to work, however we were very grateful that she had been paying for many years for a supplement Long-Term Disability Insurance... After her regular work benefits ran out.. The Long-Term Disability Insurance kicked in.. However after just 4 months we received in the mail a letter of denial for benefits.. Chip was very good. My ex wanted to fight about every little thing. She opposed anything and everything. Somehow she found a lawyer just like her. It was hell, he was as sarcastic as she was. Anyway Chip kept his cool and kept me from do foolish things too. All of the emails and arguments, she even purposely damaged my car Chip could have charged me a fortune as I later found out other lawyers do. He is not only a great lawyer, but he's a good person too. I wish he were my friend. We had unfortunately hired a “crooked” contractor for a major remodel. He over-charged us (per the contract), did some shoddy work, and then when I called his bluff on the over-charging, he put a lien on our home. As part of a group of homeowners who purchased townhomes unaware there were unknown defects, I was very skeptical when I found out that the HOA didn't have funds set aside to cover the cost of the needed repairs. I've dealt with a lot of attorneys and Bennett is one of the few that was able to review my case with an open mind. He was able to give me realistic expectations and was empathetic to the "employee" in a worker's comp claim. Unfortunately it appears that I missed the filing deadline to move forward with my claim. However, I wish the hearings office would have let me know that before they even scheduled the hearing. I had been in Oregon for only a short time. By moving here I had already taken a pretty big pay cut which I was adjusting to, then the recession hit and my employer hit me with a salary reduction which amounted to about a third of my pay.
