Dane Johnson was referred to me by the Animal Legal Defense Fund. He assisted me with a highly complex horse ownership issue that began with a request for assistance in filing a lien to clean up the ownerships records. The case quickly mushroomed past the original intent and became bogged down with multiple parties involved. It took nearly 10 months to resolve. Throughout this case Dane was compassionate to all parties, professional, timely, accessible, and above all, constantly researching the laws and consulting with colleagues and other specialists in the field of animal law to identify the next best course of action for us, his client. He spent countless hours investigating all the allegations made by various parties to ensure that he had the correct information before proceeding. To assist and aid in our corporate communications, he wrote several summaries of the case along with his recommendations in a version that was simplified for the layman. This extra step was highly appreciated. While we didn’t end up using any of the legal tools such as the original lien, it was because of the work of Dane that this case finally came to closure.

I was hit by a drunk driver in Sunriver while on vacation. While I herniated a disc, I had a ton of preexisting conditions that complicated everything. I am a lawyer and thought I could handle this but when the insurance company rejected my $15,000 settlement demand, I called a defense lawyer I knew in Redmond for a recommendation and without hesitation recommended Tim. I hired him and he and his Assistant, Julie, took over everything. 6 months later I had my deposition (where I thought I did poorly) but a month later Tim had secured a $300,000 policy limits offer!! No IME. I did not have surgery. It was an absolutely wonderful result. The best I could have hoped for. Hire Tim. You want the best on your side.

Mark helped me on a contested probate. I had already engaged one lawyer in Portland, whose employment I had to terminate due to dishonesty, and fought through an ancillary probate in Las Vegas where I realized that clients/beneficiaries can easily become victims to their attorneys. It was a relief to find Mark, who is straightforward, clear, knowledgeable and honest. I felt at all times that he had my best interest in mind. Once my husband and I started a family, we realized that we needed to get serious about estate planning. We worked with Mark to put together a Will, an Advance Medical Directive/Healthcare POA, and a General Durable POA. Mark did a great job of explaining why each document type was necessary and walking us through the issues we should consider, including ensuring that our insurance policies matched the directives in our Will.
After we completed our core estate planning objectives, Mark talked us through some additional estate planning strategies we may want to consider moving forward to better protect our assets and make estate management easier (i.e. creation of a family trust); we plan on working with Mark again in the future in this regard.

Bryan was the second attorney I met with to discuss my options. I was getting married and moving in with my husband and needed to get rid of my underwater condo. I showed up to my first meeting with Bryan, assuming foreclosure was my only option, since the first lawyer I met with told me I wouldn't qualify for a short sale. Bryan disagreed with the first lawyer and explained why, including his experience closing short sales with the same bank that held my loan.
Bryan is also a real estate broker, so I didn't have to worry about getting my condo on the market myself. Bryan stopped by to take pictures of my condo and it was listed for sale online that day. We had an offer in 2 days.
Fast forward three months, my condo is sold, and I am not responsible for the $50,000 deficiency. The only money I spent was for Bryan's initial consultation fee, which was more reasonable than other lawyers I have worked with. I highly recommend Bryan Kidder. He is friendly, professional, and concise in his explanations. He was always prompt at answering my questions via phone or email and kept me updated on all new information throughout the process. I Contacted Mr. Mortimer to start proceeding, to set aside a felony conviction, from 16 years ago. He did an excellent job from the beginning to the end going out of his way through the covid-19 pandemic situation. He proceed with my case , of setting aside the felony conviction. I hired Aurelia for a wrongful termination lawsuit. Selected her from a recommendation from a friend who had hired her. At first, I paid her hourly, and then we switched to a contingency fee basis. My wife and I launched a new vegan food business in May of 2018. Our first product went on the shelves and sold out quickly. We had waited for our first reorder before shelling out the money from our shoestring budget to register our Trademark at the USPTO. Huge mistake!
Some person applied at the USPTO for our Trademark just after our product went on the shelves, and two days before we attempted to apply. We learned a bit later, after some investigation, that they had no products, nor any legitimate proof that they actually intended to use the Trademark.
We quickly hired Jackson and he wrote them a cease and desist letter. Their attorney notified us if we paid them $15,000, they would be happy to withdrawal their application and go away. Your classic shakedown.
Jackson laid out all the evidence, making a strong case for our rights to and implied ownership of the Trademark. He is a true expert in Trademark law, using previous case law rulings that led their attorney, who seemed to possess little knowledge in this field, to quickly and dramatically lower their offer.
The USPTO is a system of nightmarish bureaucracy that allows even clear-cut extortion schemes like the one we experienced to thrive. Amanda represented me after I was selectively pulled over by police when driving away from an animal rights-related protest in Beaverton, OR. The protests had become a regular occurrence, and police in the area had started responding with various forms of threat and intimidation, mostly utilizing the legal system. At that point, there had been some arrests, but one tactic the police adopted was pulling people over as they left the protest under random pretenses in an effort to harass protesters and stick them with fines. Their logic was to increase the cost of protesting, hoping to deter through the bureaucracy of the legal system. I had been targeted by the police and pulled over multiple times. I wanted to challenge one of the tickets I received, for "improper signaling", and Amanda represented me in a challenge against the city and the police. After requesting discovery and making it clear that this little traffic violation would be turned into a political case to investigate the city's complicity in quelling protected speech, the City Attorney decided to drop charges. Thanks to Amanda, we were able to mitigate the threat against activists and show the city of Beaverton that they couldn't arbitrarily use the police so easily and not face consequences and challenges. Her work brought my fine down to a manageable $5000 dollars, which my community will be able to raise.

Kevin Keaney is an excellent attorney. I have used him off and on for 11 years now, due to my employer's on-going violations of State and Federal Laws and retaliation for exercising my rights. At the beginning of this year I was granted a divorce by default. In the divorce there was a question of paternity, hence the reason for a default judgment because my ex wife refused to respond or acknowledge that she received the documents. We tried to serve her several times at multiple addresses but to no avail. A few months later I received child support papers in the mail and realized why she didn't respond and that was because my divorce attorney did not specify the child was not mine. I panicked and went to child support enforcement and explained what was going on and was recommended to retain an attorney. I went to a few different consultations. Finally I consulted with Laura's legal team and it felt like someone was actually listening to me.
Laura began working on my case immediately and was able to correct my former attorney's mistake and mistakes I made along the way. Laura took the time to properly represent me in the administrative hearing. The case was dismissed. Prior to this experience I didn't think an attorney like her existed.
