Ellen has a terrific blend of solid reasoning and tenacity that gives her the ability to work for the appropraite resolution above all else. She is very technically strong and has a style of educating her clients so they can view things from a proper perspective and come to likely solutions. She is even tempered, but very strong in her approach. The relationship between Ellen and her client is always strong because she makes every attempt to educate her clients and keep them informed.
Ellen is a very solid emplyment lawyer and one of the finest I have had the chance to work with.

Elizabeth Ho is an excellent choice - Thorough and knowledgeable, and spends time to listen to your concerns and questions. I chose this lawyer after reviewing about 6 other lawyers in the Washington, DC area. Elizabeth Ho helped us process my marriage based green card application and wills. She responded to my very first phone inquiry by spending quite a bit of time answering my questions and describing the application process in detail. Right after, she followed up with lists of documents to gather prior to seeing her in person. Ms. Ho was very careful in reviewing my green card application and providing advice as to what happens next. In addition, she offered to write our wills, which I meant to do for a while. This was perfect timing, because wills serve a very strong evidence of bona fide relationship.
Importantly, once our application was submitted, Elizabeth kept following up on our application status , letting us know every time she receives a notice from government offices. This was very helpful since at one point, my mail stopped coming and I was afraid to miss my OPT notices. This was also especially appreciated because our case was already completed, and Ms. Ho was providing these updates solely as a courtesy. I have already receive my green card.
Excellent choice - I highly recommend this lawyer.

Due to the loss of a job, I was forced to declare bankruptcy. I used the internet to locate a lawyer. I heard back from Mr. Callan and set up a meeting at his office. I was nervous. He walked me through all the steps needed to file and was extremely patient. He helped me through all the paperwork and let me know what was to come before the finalization of the bankruptcy. I had trouble with my email and to help, he came out to my residence to help things along. Filing bankruptcy was not an easy thing to do, but he kept things within perspective and helped me through this ordeal.

I retained Berry & Berry to help me navigate some potential conflicts of interest with my outside volunteer activities and my federal employment. They gave me valuable guidance on the steps I needed to take to avoid any conflicts so that I could continue my volunteer work. They are more expensive than other attorneys I have used, but they also credited my unused time so that I can use them again in the future if necessary. Could not put a star lower than one, this company ruined my life. I did the research and handed them a simple case of gender discrimination with documented federal felonies, and they still could not win my case. The main federal felony was a voilation of 18 USC 1001, falsifcation of federal documentation. The specific lie was being terminated using 5 CFR 213.3202, what it should have been was 5 CFR 315.804/805 what confuses me is how did federal employment attorneys did not know this? What really confuses me is the fact that Virginia attorneys have to take an oath of office Virginia law Title 54.1 section 54.1-3909, that states:...that I will suppprt the Constititution of the United States and the Constititution of the Commonwealth of Virginia....... How is falsificaton of official goverment documentation supporting the Constititution of the US? Since allowing federal felonies to occur is not supporting the US Constititution why did Berry and Berry violate their oath of office with my case?

Some 20 years ago, I reached out to F. Douglas Ross, Esq. about my legal concern regarding the conduct of my brother, then a federal judge in PA, whose heavy-handed interference in a family estate matter was questionable. Attorney Ross said that my now-late brother, "as a federal judge," was not someone about whom he could advise me on how to proceed.
A different attorney, located in Lake Ridge, VA, handily undertook my case and we reached an amicable solution that has held our family together to this day.
I have not forgotten the dispatch with which Attorney Ross dismissed me as soon as he perceived potential political influence from a federal judge in another state. It was clear to me then, and remains with me now, that his first professional priority is to himself and not to his client.
After one consultation, provision of estate documents, and dismissal, Attorney Ross sent me a several thousand dollar bill, which I promptly paid. Life moves on. Time heals. But, sadly, one remembers when one has been forsaken.

We were astonished when I got the $400.00 bill for an initial consult. When we made the initial contact, nothing was said about fees. Since many firms give initial consults for free or as a lower cost I was surprised at the bill. The Lawyer was attentive and gave good advice, but charging $400 to tell me I did not have a case is unconscionable.

All they do is take your money and leave you without representation! I had been charged $410 for a "STRATEGY SESSION" even though they advertise FREE Consultations!!
I had to reach out to them one week AFTER I signed all their agreements and gave them the retainer. Right before my meeting with the attorney for a meeting to respond to the courts request, the company FIRED the attorney. They EMAILED me one hour before I was to call into the conference. not even a phone call.
WHAT A JOKE! And to make things worse, I had to fight with them to get my retainer back.
After many calls and emails, they have yet contacted me for an apology or to return my money "STRATEGY SESSION" that went nowhere.
They don't just FIRE someone in the spot. They knew what they were doing way before that day. I'm the one that paid for a service that went nowhere and then had to pay again for a new attorney at a much BETTER firm (should have gone to ROOP XANTTOPOULOS BABOUNAKIS and KLAM PLLC first)
Would NOT recommend Melone Hatley at all!!!

I am a young, IT professional, residing in the Northern Virginia area who has been familiar with divorce, separation and family law for about 4 years now. This is due to a really bad divorce and child custody battle between my ex wife and I. I had two attorneys that I retained the first time around and although i got what i feel was decent representation, it did not come close to what Lindsay has done for me. It was like she took this case personally. Unlike previous lawyers, Lindsay did not wait until last minute to prepare for this case. From day one she took the time ti not only get familiar with the case, but she took time to get to know me as an individual. This was especially important because i was the main witness in my defense. She took advantage of my strengths and took into consideration my weaknesses. This was critical in preparing me to take the stand. One thing that really stood out to me and comforted me in this matter was receiving emails from her late in the evening. I had two consultations with Ms. Ehlenberger and both opportunities were bad experiences. As other reviews mentioned, Ms. Ehlenberger was more interested in having a friendly relationship with opposing counsel than in protecting my best interests. She also didn’t have the answer to many of my questions and was not pleasant at all. I had a consultation with another attorney and realized immediately the huge difference in knowledge and treatment.

Some 20 years ago, I reached out to F. Douglas Ross, Esq. about my legal concern regarding the conduct of my brother, then a federal judge in PA, whose heavy-handed interference in a family estate matter was questionable. Attorney Ross said that my now-late brother, "as a federal judge," was not someone about whom he could advise me on how to proceed.
A different attorney, located in Lake Ridge, VA, handily undertook my case and we reached an amicable solution that has held our family together to this day.
I have not forgotten the dispatch with which Attorney Ross dismissed me as soon as he perceived potential political influence from a federal judge in another state. It was clear to me then, and remains with me now, that his first professional priority is to himself and not to his client.
After one consultation, provision of estate documents, and dismissal, Attorney Ross sent me a several thousand dollar bill, which I promptly paid. Life moves on. Time heals. But, sadly, one remembers when one has been forsaken.

We were astonished when I got the $400.00 bill for an initial consult. When we made the initial contact, nothing was said about fees. Since many firms give initial consults for free or as a lower cost I was surprised at the bill. The Lawyer was attentive and gave good advice, but charging $400 to tell me I did not have a case is unconscionable.
