Ed handled my initial divorce, and a few years later, handled my case again when there was an attempt to modify the custody and support settlement. Through the course of three pre-trial conferences, he kept me informed and gave excellent counsel. At the end of the third conference, we attempted to make a settlement offer, which was denied. We ended up going to trial. I wasn't all that excited it went so far, though that was due to the other involved party and not Ed. When we got to court, Ed was extremely prepared. We had so much information available for the judge to review, significantly moreso than the other party. And when it came to questioning the involved parties, I felt Ed did an excellent job of getting to the point, asking the most important and relevant questions. The judge found completely in our favor, and I know that had everything to do with how well prepared Ed was, and how he presented all the information in court. I would highly recommend Ed.

Ed took over as my divorce attorney when I was not happy with my previous one. He immediately knew what had to be done. I was so confused with divorce laws, it's proceedings, the language and Ed Gilkerson was attentive and put me at ease with his ability to explain in terms for me to understand. Over the past 20 years, our family has hired Mr. Shalowitz for numerous cases including personal injury, divorce, writing our wills, traffic tickets, and more. He always took our calls right away or returned our calls by the end of the business day. We have always been satisfied with the outcome of our cases. When other lawyers wanted to charge us out the Wazoo so they could line their pockets, Mr. Shalowitz tried to settle the case from the get-go knowing how these cases usually turn out. Only an experienced, ethical, and loyal attorney would do this. It seems that nowadays lawyers just want to continue the litigation so they can make more money. I hired Hallie for custody issues with my child who was in 2nd grade at the time. The issues turned out to be very in-depth and complicated. Hallie was always prepared at every turn. When we needed to bring professionals in, Hallie had excellent recommendations who were very good and well qualified. I had worked with several different attorneys in the past that were not able to do for my family what Hallie did.
Separately, I also hired Hallie for a divorce. With Hallies help and guidance we were able to keep it an uncontested divorce and for my situation that has proved to work out very well. My journey through the judicial system in Illinois was not easy. My husband was attacked and later died from the injuries. The attacker was charged and after 5 plus years of trial postponements the attacker was acquitted. I couldn't find an attorney that would represent me in the civil suit until I found Luke. Luke took the case knowing it was not a slam dunk. When Joe (the attacker) was acquitted I expected Luke to tell me there was no hope for the civil suit and walk away. Instead Luke searched the court transcripts, connected the dots from the criminal trial and negotiated a settlement for me. During the process Luke kept me informed, he explained the difficulties of the case, what I could expect and really understood how difficult this process was for me. He guided me through the process making sure I didn't settle too soon for too little. The settlement can't bring Don back, nothing can. But now my family and I have closure and we can move forward. Hiring Mrs. Cosmo is the best choice I’ve ever made. She help me gain custody of my oldest daughter. She is very professional, patient, outgoing, and was understanding towards every situation that I spoke to her about. It was very stressful going through the whole trial process but Mrs, Cosmo reassured me every step of the way. We ended trial with me having full custody so custody of my daughter and till this day Mrs. Cosmo still helps me and gives me advice on what to do for certain situation having to deal with my daughters mother. Frank and Rosie have been worth their weight in gold. From the first time I went to see him about 8 years ago until this moment. He talks straight, he tells you what you are facing, and he does his job far above and beyond the amount of monies you pay him. He has filed a chapter 13 for me, and most recently he assisted me in getting my home loan modified. My principal mortgage payment went from $1975.00 reduced to $725.00. Now as he told me there is no guarantee they would approve it, but Ill say this for Frank and Rosie.... if there is a way to do it they will find that path and walk you down it. I had my responsibilities as well to do my part such as when I was contacted to provide documents and information it was paramount to get that info to them ASAP. But, if you seek a attorney who will serve you well this is your stop. Call him or email him NOW!!!

Honesty and integrity aren't two words that you use too often with lawyers, but Doug Biggs has both qualities. He handled my legal matter with great professionalism and effectiveness. I sent him a check for his services, but he did not receive it as expected. So I dropped off a second check. A few weeks later he received the original check due to a mix up with the postal service. He could have easily deposited the check, but instead he called to inform me that he finally received the original check. He shredded the check per my request. Thank you Mr. Biggs. Mr. Stevenson provided professional representation for a reasonable rate. He was always quick to respond to my inquiries. I was charged with forgery in a small community, and he was able to ascertain a plea bargain that worked for me. His task was further complicated since I no longer resided in-state, however, he was able to manage without a problem. Furthermore, I found his rates to be more than reasonable. Between his rates, and the plea bargain that was reached, I feel that I was able to resolve the matter for a fraction of the cost I would have paid with many other attorneys.
