I spoke to a social worker in regards to the stability of their home life when they aren't with me. Being concerned about my daughter, and the inconsistency of her lifestyle which concerned me quite a bit whenever she would take the kids or present a different new boyfriend/place to stay.. (for the most part I have raised them/they lived w/me) I began to get concerned about how they were being affected by her irresponsibility as a parent. Later to find out that they were not attending school, and my oldest grandson taking on the babysitter role and would get in trouble for his little brother in which he became a totally different kid (quite angry about his whole environmen) he was told to lie to me if I asked him questions. My grandson started to call me when his mom would sleep/ or wasn't home and he would tell me things. I convinced my daughter to let me take them to live with me during the week so I can enroll them back in school and fix the inconsistency again time passed and they were safe with me; She started telling me things when she didn't get her way, trying to manipulate saying she was taking the kids from me (*if I talked to her about lying, and being irresponsible etc...) I got to the point that I needed to help these kids before she really screwed them upore and swore to look; nyo things and if she ever got into trouble shoplifting etc... I would use it to my advantage. The social worker referred me to Legal services for children and I started to work on getting guardianship and soon enough she went to jail. They were great, they helped me so much with everything including emergency paperwrk for serving her in jail for restraining order etc .. they came to my home to talk to the kids and I. They made it smooth like butter explaining everything!!! So glad she recommended this place. Perfect for kids who eed help!!!

I was wrongfully arrested, taken to jail and told I had a warrant for i crime I didn’t commit nor was the warrant in my correct name. I was a nervous wreck after wondering what could happen to me. After contacting the office and speaking with Peter he helped me through every step and I felt assured I would be ok. I worked for one of the largest tech firms in Silicon Valley and was subjected to discrimination. Luckily I knew Sarah from my network, and she advocated for me through a 6 month process that ended with a favorable settlement for myself. Although I have no direct comparison, it is difficult to imagine a better lawyer to have on your side. Most importantly, at every step and decision, Sarah was clearly advocating and recommending the best outcome for myself, not trying to maximize or speed her gain. This included her supporting me “walking away” from a significant offer, despite months of work from herself. Unfortunately, the discrimination continued, but fortunately I had Sarah as a continued advocate. She provided immediate guidance, responded within minutes to incidents, and ultimately secured a substantial offer with every detail negotiated for my benefit. Apparently Sarah took vacation during my discrimination ordeal, but I would never have know given her responsiveness.
Sarah is not only extremely competent and hard working; she is selfless and displays tremendous empathy. I can not imagine a better legal experience during employment torment.

Zuzana & I worked together from 2001 to present. She helped me renew an H1B status, and then navigate the Labor-Based Green Card/Permanent Residency Status process.

We were having issues with counsel previously assigned to a claim, and reassigned to Hiep to aid with resolving a workers' compensation claim that was dragging on unnecessarily. Under Hiep's direction we were able to resolve the workers' comp matter quickly, and also an outstanding medical lien issue, which Hiep was able to resolve well under authority. Highly recommend for civil litigation issues in California, which can be difficult to navigate for companies.

John Hamasaki represented me for about a year after I was arrested in a protest. John was extraordinarily diligent. He consistently came to court extremely well prepared - often with pages of notes outlining his strategy and potential questions to witnesses. He was always available to answer my questions, but he was always careful to leave the ultimate decision on what legal path to choose up to me. I have no doubt that with a different lawyer I almost certainly would have gotten a less favorable outcome. I would recommend him unreservedly.

In late 2014, our family was hit by what seemed like the perfect storm. Our business was barely holding on, we began caretaking my grandfather post-stroke, and my grandmother was terminally ill. And when we thought things couldn't get harder, my father, a small businessman with a strong reputation in local SF community, was arrested based on false accusations. A man with no criminal history and has owned his business in the same location for over 25 years was charged with committing a criminal threat against a troublesome customer and brandishing a weapon when in reality it was self defense.
Although he has worked in the same location for so many years, it hasn't been the safest. Our store has been victim to many troublesome customers and robberies, including armed robberies, throughout the years. The day my father was arrested, he brandished a firearm in self defense because a hostile customer was challenging him to fight. Accused him of damaging items he barely touched and escalated to wanting to fight. When my dad wouldn't fight and instead brandished the firearm, the customer left and it seemed like the end of it.
Then the nightmare came. The customer had called the police and made up a story of how my father threatened his life with the firearm. And when the surveillance was pulled, there was no audio. My father was arrested and we began almost a year and a half journey of court hearings and worry. We hear all the time of innocent people wrongly convicted and incarcerated. What if my father became a statistic?
We spent a long time searching for the right lawyer as we were in a vulnerable position, skeptical of others especially after how the police handled the situation. We spent searching for a little over 2 weeks and John Hamasaki was our choice. From the very first phone call to our first meet, John was always very straightforward about our options and made it clear that it would be a process we would have to go through, but he would do everything he could to make sure we fought this case the right way. John was very attentive to all the details of the case and made our family feel that our case was of priority, which we appreciate a lot. We know lawyers are extremely busy handling multiple cases but John was never too busy to answer our countless questions. Everyone who worked in his office was always more than courteous and welcoming.
And we never made it to trial. The felony was dismissed at the preliminary hearing and the DA offered to dismiss the misdemeanor while we were scheduling for trial. I credit this solely to Johns strategic decisions in scheduling our hearings and talking with the DA. Our family felt each move in our case was well calculated and that's when you know you're working with a great lawyer.
We can't thank the office of John Hamasaki enough for what they have given us, which is a new start. My father is 63 years old and with all the stress finally lifted, he can now focus on his well being which is a better quality of life to spend with loved ones. And that is something no words could express how grateful we are of John Hamasaki. Thank you John, truly.

I cannot emphasize enough how happy we are with Mr. Levin's law group. We reached out to Mr. Levin's practice for a second opinion after spending 4 years trying to get my wife a green-card with another firm. The other firm made countless mistakes, typos and never followed up. The process was dragged out and we were constantly advised that there was nothing we could do. I was unfairly sued by Bank of America and hired Susan to fight back on the lawsuit. She really went to the mat for me, fighting Bank of America’s lawyers all the way. The outcome was that they finally conceded defeat after Susan was able to demand audio tapes from the bank of conversations with me. They fought it all the way, but finally gave in. They signed a dismissal “With Prejudice” (meaning they can never bring it up again) and filed it with the Superior Court. What a relief that was. Had she not been there, it could have threatened my home and future. I can recommend Susan wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a lawyer who will fight for you and win.

I was a cyclist hit in a bicycle vs. auto accident with disputed liability (50/50) over who ran the red light in an intersection in San Francisco. I was referred to Debra by a close friend and attorney.

Our eviction case pushed Curt & his co-counsel team to their limits in every way, & they pulled through w/ flying colors. Our case, while practically over in our favor, instead of being a normally 1 month long UD, still lingers on after ~8 months not because of Curt, but because our opponent was ruled to be one of the most mean/obstructive Landlord attorneys out there, w/ over 20 years experience, & have an endless dirty playbook they launch against tenants which puts them at the top of the list of infamous, notorious Landlord attorneys- they are also a high volume Landlord side firm w/ HUGE resources & they do everything possible to bury & overwhelm their opponent, to run up costs & force missed response deadlines. For the first 4 mo, just to keep up w/ them, Curt had to dedicate his complete resources to our case (virtually shutting down his legal practice). Curt was able to get each of their mean legal tactic stricken down, & then, icing on the cake, got the judge to slap them w/ one of the largest (if not the largest) sanctions (penalties, like contempt of court) ever for their mean/obstructive behavior. Judges almost never give much sanctions, so Curt (& team) winning us that monster one was no small feat.
I was present at many of his most important court motion hearings in our case, and closely read through the endless court hearing and deposition transcripts, digesting his responses, counter arguments, & lines of questioning. I could go on endlessly about all the twists & turns that he had to overcome, but suffice it to say that given our case has pushed all the boundaries of UD law/process, he has demonstrated himself to me to be an extremely competent, legally knowledgeable, adept, tenacious, & caring lawyer (& person). He has great instincts w/ the SF civil Judges, depositions, and real-time litigation strategy. W/ Judges, he’s actually very respectful, takes allot of abuse, rides the line to stay on their good side and builds a solid history and rapport. In depos, he’s got amazing instincts.
His instincts to discover criminal/foul play in physical evidence were also very impressive. I was also amazed at how he can dig into and own all the endless facts of our extremely complex case. Most all other attorneys would just gloss it over, and ignore/miss key (even hidden) evidence.
He also great on client communications stuff, and is very open to client input & guidance when helpful, yet is always polite and frank when it is not. He is extremely respectful, and has almost zero ego/elitist trips of most lawyers. No games or angles… he’s a strait shooter!
He knows his court procedure pretty well, and is a tenacious fighter. When it comes to fighting the most notorious landlord firms, he only takes clients that are willing (and able) to go all the way to jury trial, and we wanted a firm that had effectively scrapped w/ them before, and could handle jury trial. I had interviewed literally dozens of top notch attorneys (most billing $300 - $450/hr, and many were obvious rip offs, looking to take as much $ as possible, and don’t care about results), and even the most experienced in SF UD cases (e.g., 15-20+ yrs exp) had only gone to jury trial once, and the rest had no jury trial experience, just doing some bench trials, which is no good for the bogus nuisance UD case maliciously slapped on us. He has close co-counsel associates who fill in gaps where his is practice not as strong. In our case, he teamed up w/ Marc Branco to shore up UD law practice. So, that combined w/ his jury trial experience (and their hunger to kick their butt), is what sold me on their ‘dynamic duo’ to go up against them. His criminal law experience was very pertinent to our very (fact driven) nuisance UD case, and he’s adept at picking apart (hostile) witnesses an triangulating to converge on favorable facts to the case.
So, in sum, I can vouch that Curt (& team) are very competent re UD legal practice, highly ethical, they get results.

A friend of mine referred Jenny to me prior to my termination. When I was abruptly terminated, Jenny called my employer immediately to let them know I was already represented by council even though she had a deposition to go to that day. She made time for me when I needed her help most. This did not change through the ten-month process to come to a settlement. The other side all but ignored our communications and attempts at settlement hoping we would just go away. But Jenny does not go away, she stays and fights for her clients. She ultimately drafted a well-researched and very strategic complaint and gave them a short window of time to either respond or she would file the complaint in Superior Court. They immediately responded and the case was settled within a week. I ultimately received about 2.7 times my original severance offer which represented a very significant settlement. Jenny always worked with me on the fees which I felt were very fair. She is a dedicated, intelligent and experienced attorney who can keep things in perspective and reassure you when you have doubts. That's Maria she's an angel who was truly on my side. My case was trumped up and scared the hell out of me. I had hired some other attorney before hiring Maria Belyi and thank God I fired him . I was looking at a sentence of 7 years and the best he said he could get me was 3 1/2 years in prison and of course be a felon for life.
When I met Maria for the first time I noticed she talked to me not at me . She didn't look down her nose at me or act like she was going to do me a favor nor did she judge me and make me feel guilty . What she did was listened and took notes and asked good questions . If you want the best, hire Tim.
A number of years ago, my police officer boyfriend assaulted me in my own home. I called the police who took my boyfriend aside and convinced him to spin this against me. They then arrested me for assault, despite the fact that I had defensive wounds.
Through Tim's extensive forensic evidence connections, we were able to get the recordings of the responding officers talking my boyfriend into pressing charges against me and coaching him what to say. This was difficult, as the police "accidentally" deleted the files, but Tim's people were able to recover the recordings. Despite this, the judge allowed the DA to suppress this evidence. Even with all this against me, Tim was still able to get the charges against me dropped.
I can only imagine what would have happened to me if not for Tim's expert defense. I would have lost my job, my professional license, and been sent to prison for assaulting an officer. This would have destroyed my life.
Hire Tim. He will give you a no B.S. assessment of your situation and your options, and will vigorously defend you. Trust me, you do not want to risk your life with a Public Defender or a cheap/inexperienced attorney. Go with the best; go with Tim.
