I originally hired Heather for the final stages of a dissolution I had already started but things took a sudden and ugly turn and I needed her for full representation. She’s the best decision I’ve ever made and not because this journey has been easy. Divorce in itself is a nasty and very expensive thing but adding custody/visitation into the mix pulls out the absolute worst in people, myself included. Over the last 4 1/2 years, she has been able to navigate all of my emotional outbursts, break downs and at times, completely insane behavior with a sense of calm and professionalism that I am ever so grateful for. She knows the law and understands what’s valid and relevant to present before the courts. She’s taught me that at the end of the day, you will have to give concessions and ignore your own personal frustration for sake of peace and the bigger picture and there are things you have no control over, no matter how it makes you feel. Actual family law isn’t what I thought it was. Outside of God, Heather’s support, ability to keep me grounded with her spot on legal counsel in my ongoing battle have been the only thing that I have been able to count on throughout all of my trials and tribulations. I have yet to lose any of my major requests and I attribute that to her expertise and logic. There are things that I felt strongly about but in the eyes of the law, my emotions sometimes had to take a back seat and Heather has always been empathetic with me and in the handling of my case. She won’t cut corners, sacrifice her integrity or violate her oath of ethics, these facts may not make her a match for people seeking to undermine the law. Heather has been absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her.

Heather has been an amazing attorney for me. From the get go she made it clear to me that her approach is to work towards a fair and appropriate dissolution of my marriage. No games and no nonsense. While my Ex-wives attorney prefers to use emotion, make fraudulent accusations about my character, and accuse me of doing things I have never done Heather has stayed with the facts and the evidence and has continued to point out that the information being provided by the other party is simply not true and without evidence. Her and her entire team have been extremely compassionate and understanding with me. They understand that my budget is limited and have worked with me diligently to keep costs down as low as possible. Their communication with me has been consistent and precise (via e-mail). On the days when I start to freak out and panic about how things are going her entire staff has always taken the extra time to help put things into perspective for me to help me through. And on those days in court when I am as nervous as can be Heather has always shown me the kindness of taking the time to help put me at ease. As for Heathers approach in the court room. She is polite, courteous, and precise. She is not about having the biggest voice or over talking others. She patiently waits until it is her opportunity to speak, renders respect to both the other party and the judge, and what she says she says with confidence and a presence that commands it be heard. If you have done your job and given her the information and facts she requests she will properly utilize it and ensure the truth is heard and proven with out question. Outside of the court room during S.O.C. hearings she strongly advocates for your best interest and when a decision needs to be made by you she gives you the information clean and straight. Heather and her teams document writing is also of an extremely high caliber. They find a way every time to eloquently put things into perspective and make it clear that they are seeking an appropriate dissolution, will not be pushed around, and will not except nonsense at all. I am continually impressed every time I review one of these documents. I suspect Heather is not the least expensive attorney out there but, to be honest, for services I have received I feel as though I have received one heck of a deal over all. If you are looking for an attorney that will work hard, advocate for your best interest, and seek an appropriate dissolution between you and your Ex then there is no better attorney to retain in my opinion. Heather and her entire team are simply amazing people who are extremely good at what they do.

Just like many Indians we had been waiting for our GC for almost a decade. When our kids were growing up, we were really concerned with them not only not aging out but also understand the options for them as they enter college. We were introduced to Sweta Khandelwal’s office and they got back to us very promptly. Due to COVID situation, Immigration Consultation with Attorney Sweta Khandelwal was remote but she was very patient in reviewing our case, discussing options and also looking up for us the CA Dream Act stuff. We would highly highly recommend anyone who has any immigration needs and/or who wants to get a second opinion from an immigration expert on the options available to become a permanent resident of USA. If you are worried and not sure if your employer’s attorney is doing everything right e.g., should you downgrade from EB2 to EB3, talk to Attorney Sweta and you won’t be disappointed. She’s terrific… we are pretty sure we will use their office for Naturalization process!

Ritu is an excellent immigration lawyer. She is very prompt in answering/addressing her clients' questions/concerns. Needless to say that she is very good at responding to phone calls and emails. We had a very pleasant experience working with Ritu despite the USCIS delays which the attorney or the clients have no control over. She puts so much effort into creating the document packets that get filed/submitted, that, it really shows and helps the case so much. This really really told me that Ritu is very experienced in what she's doing and she knows how to make her cases standout from the crowd (in a positive way). She is pretty easy to work with because she understands her clients and their needs so well.
Any immigration case calls for a lot of efforts from the clients themselves and the attorney. We were very prompt in submitting whatever documents, proofs was asked of us to her and we heard personally from her that that helped her a lot. Ritu has an amazing work ethic and I highly recommend her to anyone.

I scheduled a consultation with Hasan and had a video conference with him. Hasan is a very thorough attorney and what I liked about his approach is that rather than providing a vague possible solution, he is open and very specific from the beginning of what could be done and leaves it as a choice to you whether to come to his firm to actually do it. Mr. Polverino is extremely competent and knowledgeable in complicated criminal defense cases focusing mostly on Santa Clara County. My case being excellently conducted from the first court date reduced charges to misdemeanor, to eventually dismissal after multiple court representations over the past seven months. He’s very calm and professional, and promptly responsive either personally by email or through his assistant Debra. I remember he personally called me back the same day after I contacted his office and left a voice message.
It was a no brainer decision to hire Mr. Polverino after consulting/interviewing seven attorneys who all specialize in similar criminal defense cases. All in all Sam is simply the best!

I was involved in a domestic violent case, and I found Sam through online research. I talked to a few other lawyers before him, but I knew I needed to hire Sam after our initial consultation. We met face to face at his office. He carefully listened to my experience and walked me through the legal process. He is very experienced as he shared a lot more details about the District Attorney office than the other lawyers did, and he knows the current best way of convincing the DA to drop the case. He is also very genuine and down-to-earth. When I ask uncertain questions, he focuses on facts and does not over-promise anything. His legal pricing is competitive among all candidates, and when I asked if there is any room for discount, he honestly told me this was the lowest he would charge on a DA case. After I hired him, Sam and his assistant Debra answered all the questions I came up with. Luckily, my case was rejected before a preliminary hearing, and Sam voluntarily refunded two thirds of the legal fee and helped me request a detention certificate and sealed my arrest record. It was unbelievable. Honestly, I don't want to see any lawyers again. But if I get myself into troubles again, I wouldn't hesitate a second to hire Sam.

I was facing a serious felony charge that had potential to get even worse. Knowing this, I knew that I required first-rate legal representation. I consulted with several lawyers about the case, and after reviewing the options, it was clear as day that Sam was the best choice. I was referred to him by a family friend who practiced in a different type of law, and I am lucky he referred me. Not only did Sam have expert knowledge about the crime that I was being charged for, but he also knew the ins and outs of the court where my case was filed at thanks to his extensive experience. He was able to create a brilliant strategy that looked at every possible angle, which immediately put my worries at ease. In addition to this, he kept consistent communication with me throughout the entire case. I was never left wondering or confused about anything, because Sam and his office staff would always keep me in the loop with emails, letters, and phone calls. I won't go into the specifics, but I was facing a felony charge with several years in state prison. Some details of the case could have made the situation much worse, and I could have faced even more time. Thanks to Sam, I type this as a free man who never saw the inside of that prison cell. Reduced to a misdemeanor, 30 days of house arrest, no probation, cleared record after a year. When I must face the judge, there is no one else I would rather have by my side than Sam.

I was accused by police for abusing my son. I admit that I am a tough father but I am not the "abuser" described by the police. When I was released from jail I started seeking an attorney on AVVO. Mr. Nakano's experience drew my attention. However, my stereotype about lawyers reserved me from making immediate decision to hire him. After looking through his website, I told myself "why not give him a chance, and give yourself a chance". Because of our similar ethnic background, he could look at the situation from my perspective. Not only that, Mr. Nakano suggest me started to makeup for my mistake before the court date. He recommended Parents' Group, a group therapy that help distressed parents. In addition, he recommended me seeing professional counselor, who had taught me a lot because he had already went through the path that I am going through. Because of Mr. Nakano's help, I was dismissed of the charges by the police and was exonerated from CACI listing. Most importantly, my relationship with my son has improved. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving vacation in Disney; played retro video games and light saber duel together during Christmas Holidays. Aside from all the fun, he is still willing to follow my guidance to learn math and English daily. Thank you Mr. Nakano.

I came to Mr Steven Nakano awhile back concerned about a possible criminal case against me regarding an alledged a hit and run on the freeway resulting in property damage. After the police contacted me and conducted their investigation it was confirmed I was not involved in any hit and run. Turns out the party who claimed I was involved was pulling an insurance scam. I was injured in a bike accident. The driver was sitting in his car and opened his car door on me as I rode by. Ended up at the ER with 6 internal and 6 external stitches in my neck, an inch away from my carotid artery, a sore wrist which a MRI revealed to be a slight tendon tear and abrasions on my knee and hand, plus a sore shoulder. The driver's GEICO insurance tried to refute my claim saying I was 50% at fault for not looking to see if a driver was in the car. The police report said he was in violation since I had the right of way. I initially contacted a larger law firm I saw advertised on TV. They referred me to Braid.
Braid was great. He told me these things might take a while, but to be patient. GEICO initially offered to only pay my medical expenses, then a little later expenses plus $7K. Braid advised me to wait because he was sure he could negotiate more.
Eventually he negotiated a significant settlement, much more than I ever expected. The whole process took 7 months. I highly recommend him.

I went through a lengthy divorce process that was very difficult, and full of a lot of acrimony. I interviewed a dozen family law attorneys, and took copious notes. Traci stood out above the rest. I felt her approach to be the most honest and sincere. My experience was validated as I worked with her.
As I worked with Traci, I found her communication style simply outstanding. She always kept me apprised of what was happening, and was very easy to reach. During the course of a complicated $2M+ development project in the Town of Los Gatos, I retained the services of attorney Rick Gullen from the law offices of Rossi, Hamerslough, Reischl & Chuck in response to neighboring property owner’s lawsuits objecting to the project, as well as a breach of contract. Additionally, despite the project being permitted, there was increasing obstruction by City administration in response to these lawsuits that required Rick and his firm to intervene. The scope and breadth of the litigation required the involvement of California Fish and Wildlife, US Army Corp of Engineers, California Water Board, Air Quality Management District, County of Santa Clara, Town of Los Gatos Town Attorney, as well as surveyors, engineers, arborists, and hydrologists.
In addition to his years of personal, in-depth real estate law knowledge and litigation experience, and a large firm behind him specializing in complicated real estate matters, Rick brought to the table personal connections with experts ranging from former city Planners, structural and geotechnical engineers, aerial photography firms, surveyors, specialized insurance attorneys, property title experts, traffic engineers, etc.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon about six months ago, I was served with a civil complaint contesting the ownership of one of my residential rental properties in San Jose. I was concurrently noticed of an “ex parte” hearing scheduled for 8:30 am the following Tuesday morning at which time the allegedly aggrieved Plaintiff would seek a court order to immediately place my property into receivership and begin collecting all of the rents etc. I literally had only hours to formally rebuke this craven, contumelious assault and to affirm my ownership position in this property!
I contacted RHRC early Monday morning and found the firm’s initial response professional and sympathetic to the absolute urgency of my plight. Rick Gullen quickly agreed to re-arrange his calendar and meet with me that afternoon to review the complaint and formulate an appropriate response. By the start of our meeting, there were less than eighteen hours before the “ex parte” hearing scheduled for the next morning! Rick, his assistant, and I worked diligently for the remainder of that afternoon and evening to prepare our formal response. We were ultimately successful in this endeavor and the Judge denied all elements of the receivership motion. In the ensuing weeks and months, the complaint response and a counter suit were filed and the discovery process was initiated. Recently, this case was resolved through mediation with an executed settlement agreement very much to my benefit.
As a successful entrepreneur and retired tech executive, I have had considerable experience dealing with dozens of attorneys during the past several decades. I have retained or otherwise engaged attorneys on three continents who specialized in litigation, corporate law, contract law, employment law, family law, patent law, intellectual property law, and international law. All of these attorneys were competent in their respective fields – some were even exceptional. Never however, had I prevailed upon any of my counsel to respond to an issue with such immediacy as I did with Rick. He willingly rose to the challenge as my advocate and successfully countered the opposition at every turn.
For the duration of this case, Rick consistently demonstrated his broad knowledge of the law and his experience in resolving real estate ownership conflicts. Jessica was the calm, smart, and knowlegable friend who protected me and my son when I was scrared, depressed, and angry at end of my relationship with his mother. My son's mother threatened that our son would live with her, and I would only be allowed to see him when she saw fit. I was devastated and demoralized at the idea of not being able to see my son. I was a shambles when I sat down for my first appointment with Jessica. I'd never worked with a lawyer before: was it going to be all business, or could I share my fears, grief? Jessica made space for me to reveal to her the wreck that I was. It was vital to me to show her how important my son was to me, how scared I was by the threats our son's mother had made. She let me know she'd dealt with other fathers as scared as I was, that she understood the fear the legal system can inspire when a parent is already in fight-or-flight mode because of the end of a relationship. Then she walked me step-by-step through how the process goes, never impatient at having to re-explain the details to me. It was also important to me that I remain a “good guy”. I didn't want to do any character assasination to my son's mother, I didn't want to be adversarial in court. Jessica agreed with me, and together we crafted all communications with the opposing counsel, and the court. We won, but even if I hadn't I wouldn't regret having hired Jessica. After my experience with her, I don't believe there is anyone who could have done a better job.

I was in a vehicle accident where the defendant drove his vehicle into the back of mine.
