I have been working with Chris Mercado for the last 2-3 years on my Loan Modification, Mediation and Bankruptcy. Simultaneously, I have worked with 2 other local attorneys (supposedly with 20+ years' experience in the industry) around the same time on other cases. I can tell you the approach couldn't be any different. One thing I would advice prospective clients when selecting for an attorney is to not only look for experience (it matters) but also look for the chemistry, personality and sincerity in wanting to help his/her clients. Chris displays the sincerity and genuinity in wanting to help his clients by giving you personal and tailored advice (even it means that you do nothing or wait it out before deciding to engage him further). Good deeds always come around and I have referred him to other friends who are looking for an experienced and trusted attorney.
I regretted working with the other 2 attorneys. They are in the business to not only get as much money out from me, but giving me advice and promises that are not helping my case at all. I sensed that from the outcome resulting from working with those 2 supposedly experienced "clowns in suits", and finally decided to give Chris Mercado a try. The outcome couldn't be any different and he would give you advice and options that would benefit you the most, not how to string you along so as to get as much money out from you. Long story short - I am very satisfied working with Chris and couldn't recommend him enough to other people!
It looks like Chris received 1 negative review on this board which is very unfair. I asked Chris about it. Not trying to play down the negative review but you have to take a vested interest in ensuring the best outcome for your case by being proactive yourself (e.g. submitting documents on time, following up with scheduled deadlines, etc). Attorney is human and not God. I think sometimes people forget that and would blame their attorney on negative outcome of their case which are not related to the performance of their attorney.
Give him a try. I don't think you will be disappointed....

Firstly when meeting over the phone he was very kind and gave me a run down of not just where we were at in my case and where it could go but him as a person. Told me a little about his history with being a lawyer and about his family. He makes you feel extremely comfortable and calm. I had some hesitation when he was assigned to my case because he was new but that was quickly calmed after speaking to him and seeing how he approached things. This guy knows what he’s doing! He’s not new to this but had been new to the dui hero’s team and he’s a wonderful fit! He kept me very updated and covered all bases legally and also on my character. My case was a bit complicated and not the norm and he managed to get me no jail time and I was able to stay home with my new baby. Keep in mind this is after being told from other lawyers it wouldn’t be possible. With the extra work and time he put in he made it happen! Me an my family are very greatful for Christopher Wong. At the time of court he came extremely prepared and on time as it was hours away. He stayed with me the entire time even after to figure out payments or whatever was next he walked through everything with us. During the wait we were nervous and he was able to calm that with a very warm smile and humor. I have ADHD and often overwhelm myself in stressful situations and with him calmly by my side I was able to make it through and even read my letter to the judge. I can’t thank him enough. It felt more like a friend with you then some of the other lawyers that can feel a bit cold. Everything is done at your pace and zero judgement. HIGHLY recommend!!! Thanks again!

As my case is still ongoing this review is for the current work that is being done for me right now. Angela has been handling a rather difficult estate case for me. She has been very helpful in this case particularly in keeping me focused and on task when I become frustrated with dealing with my siblings who are my fellow benificaries in the estate.
She has been very good in keeping me up to date on what my duties are as the Trustee of my fathers estate . She is also very good at finding help with problems that are out of her expertise ( which I find very comendable ) and resolving those problems. I would have no problem recommending her as a attorney .

After an unexpected and extremely costly auto repair that should have been covered under an extension of a previous recall, I contacted a first class attorney named Todd Feinstein. With complete confidence, he showed Toyota that they were traveling upstream with no obvious means of locomotion. I have an Ex-Wife that doesn't know when to quit. She took me to court for higher child support after I retired and was on a fixed income. She didn't win one motion and took me to appeals court in spite. My Attorney told me that he was hiring the best appeals attorney in the state. He was right. Catherine called me one time during the very long process of the appeal and I spoke to her one other time on my own. I was never charged for either call and she kept all correspondence to a minimum to save money. The appeal went my way and Catherine's argument was very reasonable. I would re-hire her absolutely.

David was our general counsel for 3 years at my last startup. He was outstanding in every way.
He provided invaluable guidance each step of the way -- incorporating the company, stock option plan, intros to VCs, business deals, term sheets, financing contracts, negotiation for exits, and acquisition.
Startups are a lot of unknowns coming at you constantly, you need someone like David to weather them with confidence.
I was amazed at how he kept the company's best interests in mind rather than any specific individual or entity's interests.

David served as counsel for our start up, and it was an entirely positive experience. He's intelligent, experienced, highly connected in the VC community and has excellent operating instincts.
We raised several rounds, had some very complex Board maneuverings, and a successful exit, and David was a rock throughout.
I have subsequently recommended him to several other founders who were doing due diligence on representation for their ventures, and I believe they all ended up hiring him after interviewing him.

I was in a hit-and-run accident which has left me with permanent injuries. Managing my pain requires daily medication and additional medical treatment. I did not have PIP; fortunately, I did have UIM. I was thankfully able to receive the maximum amount of UIM coverage available from the insurance company.
Jeffery intently listened to me and captured my concerns. After receiving the demand letter that he drafted on my behalf, the insurance company tendered the policy limits. They also paid to repair my vehicle, which was a high amount due to the extensive damage. Everything was settled out of court.
I am so grateful for Jeffery's diligence and attentiveness. If I ever need representation again, I will be sure to retain him once more. He was a pleasure to work with and was always so respectful. I highly recommend this attorney.

We were in a complicated lawsuit where Robert Meyers came highly recommended by our longstanding attorney for his specialized skills in technical business litigation. Meyers lived up to his reputation and gave us straight forward, sometimes hard to swallow, but always honest advice. Jonathan Feil has been my mouthpiece, er, attorney for decades. He is easy to work with, friendly, but most importantly, he writes very clear, concise and easy to understand documents. His work is careful and considered and he is sure to cover all the bases, while managing to keep documents short. I trust him implicitly and explicitly. I use him for all my legal needs except patents, as he's not a patent lawyer. He does all my copyright and trademarking work, however, and is knowledgeable about all aspects of IP.
No one is perfect however, and Jonathan's weak spot is timeliness. You may need to prod him along at times.
Jonathan will make sure that you understand what he is doing and why he is doing it. His explanations are clear and understandable. He will also listen to you and make sure that he is doing what you want, not just what he wants you to do.
With Jonathan handling my legal work I never ever have to worry about matters legal. I am sure that I'm getting sound advice and great documents.
Jonathan also has good business experience. He understands the motivation behind your requests which helps ensure that you get what you really need.
To be more specific, recently he has done work for me on developing investment term sheets, building and tracking our capitalization table, options agreements, and customer contracts. He written our company NDA, our employment agreements, and done all our company paperwork (business licenses, founding documents, etc.). My company is a relatively small startup and he is very conscience of our limited budget and finds ways to get what we need without breaking the bank.
Recently we had a copyright conflict with a company in Australia. We had resolved it some years ago, but a third party thought the copyright was still owned by the Australian company. Even though everyone that we had worked with in the Australian company was gone, he was able to find the right people there and get the matter resolved without resorting to threats or actual legal action. His persistence and gentle persuasion were what did the job.
In short, Mr. Feil has been everything we want and need in an attorney. To the point where I must add this disclosure, over the years he has also become a personal friend.

I was so embarrassed about my DUI that I just wanted to get it taken care of as quickly as possible. I started doing some research to find an attorney online, but just got overwhelmed. A friend recommended Chris Matson, and I am eternally grateful for that recommendation! Chris met with me the same day I called and right away I knew my case would be in expert hands. He didn't sugar-coat anything and just laid out the process and what would have to happen for a positive outcome, with worst case and best case scenarios. I hired him on the spot, and by the time I left the initial consultation all of my questions were answered and I felt like I had an attorney who knew this corner of the law inside and out.
