My ex-spouse is a narcissist, willing to lie, use our child as a pawn, no matter how shameless, no matter how long and even at our child's expense. The smallest decisions between us require a debate and very careful consideration much like a chess match. Intelligent narcissists can master manipulation and be almost impossible to get ahead of. Francine Cohen, consistently anticipated and was always prepared for whatever conflicts came our way. She listened to everything I was feeling and absorbed every historical detail I provided, she knew what I wanted to convey and then knew how to assure my thoughts would be clear, concise, effective, and most of all brilliant. Francine Cohen is a legal autocorrect, absolutely priceless. Unfortunately, so many times pressing matters requiring a quick decision would happen outside of the workday, on holidays, late hours moments before exchanges, etc. Fran never once left me waiting, I never had to make a decision without her providing her thoughts. So many divorces don't go to trial, mine did. Fran and Olga are militant when it comes to organization and preparedness during the trial. They have all documents available in seconds via Ipads as well as paper. if "God forbid the WiFi" stopped working or paper documents were not available, both ways were backed up. If the opposing counsel is unprepared, Fran and Olga would provide documents in order to prevent time from being wasted. Fran made hours of trial and questioning look effortless, she studied every detail of evidence, she picked up on so many things that I missed, she was fascinating to watch. A custody battle that becomes a war, requires weapons and a shield, Francine Cohen is the only weapon and shield you need.

My divorce, custody and child support litigation changed as the situation changed through the years (eg. Changes in child custody as to who was the custodial parent). In an atmosphere very unfamiliar and intimidating to me, I was so much in need of a stable support who was not only familiar with the court system but who could portray my needs and the multiple factors involved in my case to those making the decisions. Fran has been there for us as this support from the very beginning in 2006, through the years when I needed her legal support even to helping to facilitate a domestic settlement agreement last year. In my experience, it was always an instant relief when I'd see her on arrival to court and with Fran sitting beside me in the processes, I felt confident that I had a skilled advocate.

My experience with Ms. F. P. Cohen is that she is a very nice woman but she was not a good lawyer. Firstly, for less than 6 months, I emptied my retainer and somehow ended up owing more than I could have imagined. And I was shocked because I probably only went to court about 3 or 4 times in that 6 month period. I later learned that she charged me for everything from phone calls to emails, meetings and so on and so forth. My services did not match all the money I wound up being responsible to pay. Also, in my opinion, she was not successful at upholding my image in court. She was not even able to portray my image in court and I have lived an upstanding life, all of my life. Basically, if your case is not cut and dry, and especially if it involves any serious accusations that require aggressive and direct representation ( namely custody-related court concerns), I would not recommend.

I met with Ted Cotter for the first time to get a second opinion. While he knew I had another attorney, he sat with me for as long as I needed, asked me pertinent questions, wrote down my response to those questions, and made himself totally available to me should I need him, but advised me to stay where I was. He was completely professional and down to earth at the same time, very relatable, always making me feel that my time was just as important as his. At the end of our meeting, I asked him what I owe him, his response was ' absolutely nothing, let me know how you make out with your situation.' I would not hesitate to retain him in the future should I ever have a need to.

I retained this firm after I was in a car accident. I suffered a shoulder injury and I was very nervous. Mr. Casella was able to have all my medical bills paid for by the insurance company and got most of my salary reimbursed. After a few months, I am on the road to recovery and Mr Casella got me a very nice settlement. Along the way he answered all of my questions. He even checked in on me to see how I was doing. He is a great attorney and a very nice person.

So I am a recurring client of this firm. I first retained Keith Casella for a personal injury matter a few years back. While other attorneys told me I had a no case, Keith Casella was able to resolve my matter lucratively although I did not have "major injuries". I liked his demeanor and the fact that he was responsive to me despite how silly my questions were. Fast forward to now, I have since retained mr. Let me begin by saying this, I have never written a review for an attorney as I have always thought it to go without saying that if you hire a lawyer, it is their obligation to work tirelessly for you. So who has time to read a review for one? That is until I hired my 1st, my 2nd, and 3rd. I have been to family court countless times and have left battered and deflated by all parties. Including the ones I was paying. That changed when I hired Mr. Behrins! He has proven from the first conversation, that he is experienced, capable, confident and empathetic. The last, something rare and a bit of fresh air considering he has been doing this for decades. You would think he would be somewhat jaded. Quite the contrary. I was ultimately most impressed by his performance in court and often found myself holding back smiles during cross examinations. A poker face was hard to keep when I knew he was effectual throughout the trial! He was timely in his communication with me always, and quite literally, the best I've had the pleasure to represent me. There was a pride that I had on my end for having hired him. I would absolutely, without a moment's hesitation refer him to anyone I care for deeply. I am grateful for the lessons he's taught me, the commitment he had to my case, and the care he showed representing my children and I. All I can say, is thank you. Repeatedly!

If it was not for this man, despite the fact that traveling to his law firm offices in Staten Island, NY can be a problem for someone such as I who does not drive nor own a car, I would not had gotten the money which I'd worked so damm hard for during my seven year tenure at Fairmont Insurance Brokers in Bklyn. If you're a resident of either Bklyn or Staten Island, whom was unjustly fired from your position of employment and purposely denied overtime pay from your employers, which is against the law in New York State.......CONTACT THIS MAN! I hired Maria to represent me in a very complicated divorce case. My wife was being unreasonable and I had a prior attorney who just wanted to litigate the case until the cows came home without regard for my finances. Maria helped me reach a settlement and saved me a ton of time and money. Highly recommend this lawyer if you want to get through divorce quickly and efficiently.

Maria was hired after my first divorce attorney was caught double and triple billing me . She plays the part of a caring attorney well. In reality she is an inexperienced attorney who was admitedly afraid to question witnesses in trial. So she has a partner we will call him lou who constantly brags about his experience yet has zero drive in the court room. This crew was late to court numerous times. Even being reprimanded by the judge couldnt get them to work on time. Maria never once billed me throughout the course of my trial after I begged her to give me a bill so I can get an idea of my fees? She has no office staff was her response or I will charge you a flat fee was another response," dont worry". Well she then waits to the almost end of my 2 year divorce trial to hand me a $30,000 bill on a monday( after I already paid her $15,000 on account) then tuesday tell me she needed the money or she will quit. wednesday to my surprise right before I was set to take the stand for my testimony she filed papers to be removed. So if you want a lawyer who will NOT fight for what you deserve because she is afraid of the judge not liking her then maria novak and lou are your lawyers.If you want to fight for what is yours and not give your home ,all your money and full custody of your kids to your cheating ex then hire a different law firm.

A true advocate in any custodial/matrimonial matter. Ms. Novak was my second incoming attorney on my highly contested custody matter in kings county IDV part 2. I was referred to Ms. Novak by my first attorney and is super thankful. My case was unique in its own ways. VERY VERY contested and constantly taken to new highs. Ms. Novak has been able to guide me through every aspect of my case. She is a great writer of motions, and she articulates herself extremely well on paper and in front of judges. She will do everything to get justice for you and your child!!! She knows how to communicate well with her adversaries and law guardians. She knows the law, and she is not afraid to use it!!!! My case was highly active and aggressive in every way!! Ms. Novak was always able to guide me properly and get me the results I was looking for. After 2 yrs of ligating, and 3 days of trial I have full, sole and legal custody of my son. Thank You Ms. Novak!!!!!

She did not represent me as she could have. I'm a domestic violence survivor and my abuser came in with false allegations wendy never bothered to respond to my pleas to help and i lost my child. Im now fighting a permanent damage done by her negligence. She is well known for messing over her 18b clients. She gets paid whether she doea anything or not. I'm damaged and so is my child! Its a nightmare

Ms. Keegan cuts thru all the conjecture and gets straight to the matter at hand. No non-sense approach to reaching an agreement. She focuses on her client and most importantly, the law. She is sincere, honest and trustworthy. She strived to get my matter resolved as fairly and quickly as possible while maintaining a level of compassion that is seldom if ever associated with attorney/client posturing. Very responsive to my emails, call and inquiries. A pleasure to deal with and I would recommend her BUT I hope I will never need her services again.

I appointed Ms. Anna Goldman through Kasuri Law for a landlord-tenant case. She is a horrible lawyer, who never communicated with me regarding my case. She never barely responded to my emails and calls. Not only that, she didn't even inform me about the court date. I called Kasuri law and informed the office and her that I have a court date in 4 days which I found through the civil court website. This was not enough, she called me exactly two days before the court date just to let me know that she will not represent me. And she didn't. Kasuri law is equally bad. Ms. Sunny, the office assistant is extremely rude. I wasted my money on them. Extremely unethical, unprofessional lawyer, and the law firm to which she is attached. I would never recommend this lawyer. Please do not waste your time and money on her.

Terrible. Worst most unprofessional lawyers I have ever dealt with. Marvin hasn’t submitted my paperwork the court requested 6 months ago and will not answer any calls or texts. When I call the office they tell me he isn’t in or in a meeting on a call etc and he never returns messages. I will be reporting them to the bar association. If you ask me they robbed my money!

Horrible experience. He showed up in swim trunks and a t shirt for a meeting he was 2 hours late for, and acted cocky and arrogant the entire time; Gaslighting me and talking down to women. (Wouldn't surprise me if he tried to gaslight me here honestly) I HIGHLY recommend a different attorney for family law at least. He has little to no knowledge unless it's personal injury claim where he rips off the injured and disabled. (Had him try to sign me for a personal injury case while he was defending the perpetrator of a crime I was the victim in, come to find out which is illegal, not to mention unethical)

Unfortunately I would not recommend. She isn’t accurate with her information and has asked me the same questions repeatedly and still out the incorrect answer on my report. She also failed to mention vital information on my case which did not help me with the judge. She doesn’t fight for the rights that need to be fought for and I’m extremely unhappy with her services. Want a better outcome get another attorney.
