I recently hired Mr. Louie to defend a charge of speeding at 80mph in a 55mph zone. As an out of state resident, I was surprised to learn that this is automatically considered reckless driving in Virginia, which itself is considered a misdemeanor in the state. Mr. Louie's counsel resulted in a proper outcome which was in line with our goal of avoiding a reckless driving charge.
Both Mr. Louie and his staff were professional and attentive throughout the process, and his experience is demonstrated by his knowledge and calming presence. It is obvious that Mr. Louie has a strong working relationship with many parties in the Virginia Beach area. I believe that this is an asset for an area with such a large out of state/military population and relatively harsh traffic laws. Overall great job!

I was pulled over for going 37 over the limit. I did not know how strict the laws in VA since I'm from NJ. I had called several lawyers who I just didn't trust or like. So I went with my gut and chose Peter Louie. My instinct was spot on. Peter is realistic, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. I was facing jail, license suspension, a misdemeanor and a $3500 fine. I walked away with a $400 dollar fine. Everything else was dropped, no jail . no 3500 dollar fine, no suspension and no misdemeanor.
Do as Peter says and all will be alright. I highly recommend Peter Louie and his firm.

Adam Carroll recently represented me on a probation violation in Chesapeake he was recommended to me by a lawyer that i usually use . This was my second violation in which I violated condition 1 and 8 . Condition 1 is the worst one to violate it means i brought back a charge. 7Mr Carroll researched my case meticulously and fought very hard for me on court. Long story short I ended up doing just 56 days in jail my guidelines on just the condition 8 were 6 to 12 months .... If any body knows Chesapeake the are very hard on violations!!!! I am relieved as much as I am impressed with your hard work and dedication to this case. Here is my review:
This was a false positive urinalysis case. I consulted Mr. Grover Baxley briefly over the phone. He knew which questions to ask, and gave advice even before the retainer fee was paid. At this point, he was polite, professional, but also detail-oriented on initial questioning. He outlined the lengthy military legal process, as well as his fee schedule. On paying the retainer fee, Mr. Baxley gave clear instructions on the items needed from me, including a rather detailed "Love Me" document -- basically a binder of my entire life including disciplinary actions, CVs, and accomplishments/awards.
Mr. Grover Baxley will work behind the scenes. For some people, at times, you may feel as though there is no progress in the case, and that this is all a test of patience. However, and especially on discovery of evidence, Mr. Baxley will be prepared to cross-examine -- will be prepared to use even the government's own witnesses. If you have an engaged Area Defense Counsel team, this will make your defense even stronger. Mr. Baxley will call occasionally for updates, to clarify information, and to schedule conference calls for larger updates.
In my case, Mr. Baxley arrived in the area the week before a scheduled trial. I was able to meet Mr. Baxley in person at this time, and we were able to discuss the upcoming process in depth. I was assured that my defense team was as prepared as it could be. Mr. Baxley engaged the courtroom during the trial. He strategically cross-examined and was careful with his questioning. And his closing arguments evoked in me emotions I'm sure I shared with some jury members.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this case. You were blessed with an important gift in life -- a much-needed voice of defense for our service members across the country. Good luck in the rest of your journey, and give my best to your family.

If you’re where I was just 7 months ago, you’re in a bad spot, with your career, reputation, and everything else you’ve worked your butt off for in jeopardy. I searched for the BEST military lawyer upon being notified of an allegation of a positive urinalysis result for marijuana. Having never done the drug my entire life, and knowing the government wanted to bring charges against me, I knew I faced an uphill battle and long road ahead. I submitted a form, giving a brief synopsis on what I was up against, and Grover quickly called me back. Right away, I knew I had found my lawyer to defend me as I navigated this nightmare of a process. Today, I type this with an immense amount of relief, as Grover successfully won the BOI, convincing the panel members their claims were UNSUBSTANTIATED and that I had committed NO MISCONDUCT!
Being accused of something you know you didn’t do, and coming to terms with something that can have devastating, lifelong implications is horrifying, but Grover never faltered as the government made every attempt at kicking me out. This man is worth triple his price and is worth his weight in gold.
The joy and relief I feel, after being able to put this all behind me is simply indescribable. I don’t think it’s fully settled in yet that I can now put all this in my rear view mirror, and move forward with my career, along with my reputation and dignity in tact.
If you’re being charged, then you need to fight back. Not tomorrow, not now, but YESTERDAY!!! Don’t hesitate to hire Grover so he can start fighting back. He’s easily the best military lawyer, and the way he shoots the prosecution down is simply a work of art.
I owe Grover my life and am forever indebted to him. The road wasn’t easy, or quick, but as I lay here and give hope to others who find themselves in the same place I was back in March, I assure you that Grover is THE MAN for the job.

I contacted Mr. Baxley in February of 2022 after a positive urinalysis result. Not knowing how this result came to be I knew I needed an expert. I have 12 years of honorable service (active and guard) with no history of ever being in trouble. Mr. Baxley commanded the board room and after two days of the hearing, the final result was no misconduct, retained in the Air National Guard. Now I can continue to serve until retirement. I found Mr. Thoman online when dealing with my ex in VA who sought a DVPO against me. I am out of state, and had no local recommendations for lawyers. Unfortunately, almost as soon as he turned 18, our son made some poor choices & found himself in very, very serious trouble as an adult. With absolutely no idea of who to call, we blindly googled attorneys in our area & happened upon Brian Thoman. we read his bio & the reviews he had online. We were impressed that he had prior prosecutor work under his belt as the charges pending against our son were criminal. After calling a couple of other attorneys we knew from their t.v. ads, we felt Brian was definitely the best fit for our son’s situation. Brian not only had knowledge of the law, but compassion. He explained everything to us thoroughly & never gave us any false sense of hope. He was very clear about what we could expect, but he worked tirelessly until the very end to ensure a positive outcome for our family. Our son wisely followed Brian's advice to the "t" & the very serious felony charges were dropped. I have no doubt that if we hadn't hired Brian, our son would be sitting in jail right now—possibly for several years. Mr. Brian Thoman is phenomenal! It took me some time to find time to write this review, but I was determined to find time. A few months ago, my husband was charged with a petty larceny from Walmart. This is something completely out of my husband's character, but without going into personal details, he was going through a very difficult time and Mr. Thoman helped us with this. We scheduled a visit with him and he was very down to earth , compassionate and understanding of the situation that had occured. He took his time and we felt rushed at no time. He recommended my husband to take a Theft Class and do some community service prior to court, which he did. He went out of his way to contact the security person at Walmart and work out a deal with him and we did not even have to appear before the judge. We will definately use Mr. Thoman again if we ever have an instance we need him for any legal issue. He is a perfect combination of what we wish we could find in any attorney, smart, savvy, well spoken, yet down to earth, compassionate and understanding. We want to thank him from the bottom of heart! Thank you Mr. Thoman!

I was charged with a show cause for breaking a peace bond. I honestly had no idea what I had done to break the complainant's peace since I purposely had nothing to do with her and I had moved over 100 days after she made the complaint. Jason took my case and worked diligently to discover the reason. He found that the reason was unjustified. In court, Jason discredited the complainant and found that everything she said was untrue and the case was dismissed. Jason was very understanding of my mental state as I dealt with this trying time. He was compassionate and he and his team reassured me often that I had nothing to worry about. He definitely proved in court that justice and honesty always wins. After hiring an attorney I had known for a very long time who almost immediately became ill after taking my case, and then being passed along to another attorney in the same firm who was not providing me with the level of representation I was seeking, I decided to research family law attorney bios and their reviews. I then decided to hire Dale as my advocate after dismissing my former attorney. Dale immediately demonstrated a level of knowledge, capability, and empathy that was unsurpassed. When I first called her office to set up an initial consultation, I was even surprised that she answered her own phone directly. She immediately demonstrated compassion for my situation and moved quickly to take on my high conflict child custody case. She informed me of integral information that I had not received from my previous attorney and she also kept me informed of every action that I had to take, as well as every action she was going to take. She also gave me homework to do, so that she would not have to charge me as much for doing some of the work between herself and her staff, but then she still provided me discounts on my bills. Every time I met with Dale, it was evident to me that she was doing everything within her power to advocate for me. Her understanding of both family law and psychology made her an outstanding attorney who is like no other in her field. Dale is extremely professional, as she is attentive, kind, considerate, and a great listener with amazing ideas. While we unfortunately did not win our case, it was through no fault of hers because I was in a situation where many “cards” were stacked against me from beginning to end, especially a very non-responsive, biased, and unprofessional court appointed Guardian Ad Litem (GAL). While we knew it was going to be an uphill battle all the way, Dale never stopped trying to do her best for me. Mrs. Berrett, is by far the best lawyer to seek with any type of child custody, divorce or other related matters. I hired Mrs. Berrett from a personal friend referral, for my divorce and custody battle.
