I regret ever hiring Soleymani Law Firm to represent me in my family law case. At the time, I was new to the legal system and trusted their promises that they would fight for me and my son. Unfortunately, their actions did not align with their words.
My initial consultation with Deborah Soleymani was full of assurances about how her firm would stand by me. However, once they took my $10,000 retainer, their level of service completely changed. The attorney assigned to my case, Emily Hetu, was unprofessional, lacked communication skills, and did not advocate for my son or me in any meaningful way. The worst part? She did not even show up for a crucial hearing. Instead, they sent a substitute attorney without any notice, leaving me completely unprepared and vulnerable in court. This attorney had no background on my case, did not defend me, and ultimately, because of their incompetence, I lost in court.
On top of their negligence, they managed to burn through my entire retainer in less than two months while doing minimal work. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to claim I still owed them money for a single hearing that cost me $10,000—an outrageous and unjustifiable fee for the lack of service provided.
This law firm lacks integrity, professionalism, and basic ethics. They do not fight for their clients; instead, they take advantage of people who are already in vulnerable legal situations. If you’re considering hiring them—DON’T. I wish I had read a review like this before wasting my time and money on them.
There are far better family law attorneys out there who actually care about their clients. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Soleymani Law Firm.

I regret ever hiring Soleymani Law Firm to represent me in my family law case. At the time, I was new to the legal system and trusted their promises that they would fight for me and my son. Unfortunately, their actions did not align with their words.
My initial consultation with Deborah Soleymani was full of assurances about how her firm would stand by me. However, once they took my $10,000 retainer, their level of service completely changed. The attorney assigned to my case, Emily Hetu, was unprofessional, lacked communication skills, and did not advocate for my son or me in any meaningful way. The worst part? She did not even show up for a crucial hearing. Instead, they sent a substitute attorney without any notice, leaving me completely unprepared and vulnerable in court. This attorney had no background on my case, did not defend me, and ultimately, because of their incompetence, I lost in court.
On top of their negligence, they managed to burn through my entire retainer in less than two months while doing minimal work. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to claim I still owed them money for a single hearing that cost me $10,000—an outrageous and unjustifiable fee for the lack of service provided.
This law firm lacks integrity, professionalism, and basic ethics. They do not fight for their clients; instead, they take advantage of people who are already in vulnerable legal situations. If you’re considering hiring them—DON’T. I wish I had read a review like this before wasting my time and money on them.
There are far better family law attorneys out there who actually care about their clients. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Soleymani Law Firm.

I have used Howard Z. Berman for many year's on corporate matters. He is very knowledgeable and effective. I first hired Howard a few years ago when he was working for Ervin, Cohen & Jessup in Beverly Hills. Their firm's prices were pretty high but Howard always did a good job. Then, Howard moved to another firm. I followed Howard all the way. He continues to draft contracts for me and work deals. In fact, I just used his services as recently as Jan. 2015. Great results and counsel he provided.! His rates are now reasonable compared to others.

I had a minor incident involving my dog at a dog park that the other party is trying to escalate into a major problem. Bob Khakshooy immediately took my call, calmly assessed the circumstances, and advised me of my options. He also helped me to know how to approach it to have the best possible outcome for protecting my dog. Bob is also an animal lover and offered his services as a no-cost consultation. I am impressed with his professionalism, attentiveness, knowledge, calming demeanor, and generosity, especially given he wasn't going to charge me. Some attorneys offer "free consultations" as a way to generate business, but once they evaluate your case and determine there's no money in it for them, they won't spend any more time with you. Todd Bonder has served as my outside counsel for more than 10 years. We have worked on an extensive number of diverse matters together, and I (and the companies I have worked for) have always been thoroughly satisfied. Todd not only knows the law, he never fails to look at the "big picture" when advising clients about their options.
Based on my experience, there are a number of large law firm litigators who are quick to run up hours and file cookie-cutter claims when they receive a new matter. Thankfully, that is not how Todd works.
Todd examines a client's issues in a practical, efficient and often creative manner, and then works closely with the client to ensure that the services he renders are those that are most likely to achieve the client's ultimate goals.

My initial impression of Kathleen was very positive—she came across as competent, driven, and solution-oriented. I spent months organizing and sourcing all my court paperwork at her request, which was the hard part of the process. However, once I completed this, the experience went downhill quickly.
Her 'team' began giving me the runaround. I reached out over six times to get an appointment, and they canceled multiple times. Despite this, I gave grace, trusting my first impression of Kathleen. After yet another cancellation, they said I would have to wait until the new year to be seen. I requested a date for 2025, booked months in advance, but the appointment came and went without any communication from her office.
I reached out to express my disappointment over the wasted months of effort on a sensitive case not to mention the $800 consult fee, urging Kathleen to do better. Her response was dismissive—claiming her staff said I had new representation (which is false) and that she is not taking 'new' clients. There was not even an apology for the months of wasted time, lack of communication, or the sheer number of follow-ups I had to initiate.
This was a deeply disappointing experience, marked by unprofessionalism and poor taste. I cannot recommend Kathleen based on my experience.
