I would recommend Mr Lord for any business services. Although I have not hired him as of yet, I most certainly will be. He spent time talking to me and explaining some things that other attorneys will not discuss until you have hired them. His initial advice was sound and professional. The review titles used for his other 5 star reviews are exactly what I would use to describe Mr. Lord.

I'm dealing with two issues with contractors. It's our first time having to go to court. We're not quite sure if our case should be in small claims or in district court and trying to find a lawyer which handles what we're dealing with has been trying. I'm sure there are plenty out there but you're going to have to pay $100 to $200 to find out if a lawyer is a fit for you in most cases. Everybody other than Harrison, only would say come in and pay our fee and we'll see if we can help you. Harrison asked us to type up the details of our issue. It was probably a good 2 or 3 page email. He read through it and called me. He spent 15 minutes on the phone advising to first go to small claims and if that didn't work out to file an appeal and how to do so. He is not the cheapest but gave a truthful answer as to why. It's not clear if we'll need his services before all this plays out. I don't usually write reviews unless I have a problem. However, in this realm it was refreshing have somebody care about doing the right thing without taking your money first and seeing if they can help you with what's right for them. Thank you Harrison. This is stressful having somebody like you take 10 minutes to listen and give us honest feedback helped a lot.

I HIRED HARRISON LORD, TO HANDLE A MATTER INVOLVING A REAL ESTATE COMMISSION OWED MY FIRM. I FOUND HIM TO BE ETHICAL AND FORTH -COMING IN ALL OUR DEALINGS. ALTHOUGH I WAS OFFERED A SETTLEMENT BY THE DEFENDANT, HARRISON ENCOURAGED ME TO RESIST THE TEMPTATION AND HOLD FOR A BETTER OFFER. WITHIN WEEKS HARRISON SETTLED THE MATTER FOR A CONSIDERABLY HIGHER AMOUNT. I AM PLEASED WITH THE FINAL RESULT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES FOR ANY LEGAL DISPUTE THAT COMES YOUR WAY.

I originally emailed 11 attorneys on this site. Mr. Wells was one of two that responded. The other attorney wanted a consultation fee and an additional fee for going over my paperwork. He has the caring-can do attitude that everyone needs. It is very hard to find a good attorney, I know. But look no more because he's your guy! :) And no I did not get paid for this. He is just that awesome! :)

Unsatisfactory experience with Heidi as a parent coordinator. Listens to react and not to understand. In a year as PC she has been unable to resolve any issues and lacks the organization to keep track of or manage any outstanding issues. If you question her billable hours she will falsify statements in her motion that she knows to be untrue. Would not recommend as a PC and certainly not to represent as an attorney.

I’ve had a very disappointing experience with this law firm. Despite multiple attempts, Matt Malone has not responded to my emails or phone calls. They made an error on a deed, and now they are refusing to correct their mistake. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend their services—save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

The legal consultation was a profoundly positive experience. Micheal L. Littlejohn Jr.'s reality-driven approach, clarity, understanding, and adherence to his brand promise collectively contributed to a consultation that was both informative and reassuring. For anyone seeking legal advice that is rooted in facts and delivered with a personal touch, this consultation comes highly recommended. The cost maybe a little higher but he's worth it.

Seems like reviews are everywhere. I read them to try and gain some insight from the voices of the many. Every now again, I even try my hand at writing one. Then there are the moments that it is absolutely necessary to share your experience with others and this is one of those times. While there is not enough time to take you through all the twist and turns that lead us to the doorsteps of the practice of Phillips & McCrea, PLLC and ultimately Mr. Phillips, it proved to be out of the many things that were not going in our favor, the very one thing that did and it made all the difference in our outcome. We have a special needs child and needed help with his disability case after some experiences that we will just describe by saying that we wish they were not a part of our story. If you live long enough you know the road bends and it turns and what becomes certain in this life is that nothing is for certain. But there was a ram in the bush and if you know what that expression means, then you know the importance of the job Mr. Phillips rendered unto us at a professional level that not only is uncommon today; but you could make a strong argument if it even exist. Our experience with Mr. Phillips takes us through multiple years where even we wanted to surrender because we had nothing left in the tank; and I’m not talking about our tank was low, I mean notta, zero, zilch! Yet if not for Mr. Phillips encouragement in the face of what seemed insurmountable, his willingness to be patient and steadfast, and his professional acumen, our path would have been altered in ways we could not explain. If anyone may have any doubts, unanswered questions or any reservations as to whether you have found the right attorney, I would ask that you stop what you are doing immediately and call Mr. Phillips on the phone NOW!!! Not only do we highly recommend him, drop the mic here………. I will end this review by leaving you with a very important question. From personal experience I know how important it is to choose the right attorney to guide you through legal matters that a high level of expertise and sophistication is not only required, but demanded, why would you trust anyone else in such a time as this?

Just had another seamless closing with Hunter & Chandler. This time it was for a super complicated estate situation. The communication was second to none. I've been working with Rinda for YEARS and was so glad when she moved to Hunter & Chandler. Super convenient location, and everyone that works there is so welcoming and helpful. But then you have that one paralegal who truly carries the entire deal and treats it so personally every time. Never an issue that Rinda can't calm me down on. Truly... she always makes me look like a rockstar to my clients. Thank you Hunter & Chandler and especially Rinda!

Recently closed on the sale of our home this week. Rinda, the paralegal, placed an order through Homewise for our HOA payoff and incorrectly input the property address, and only notified us of the “processing error” two days before closing. Homewise will not refund us the full amount of the first fee we paid because of the error. Rinda became immediately defensive and claimed that Homewise made the error, but Homewise as very clear on the fact that they rely on the information supplied to them during the placement of the order and cannot modify it. Then, Rinda even had the audacity to blame me for paying for the order and not catching her error. But, she’s “been doing this for 20 years” and “knows what she’s doing”, so I guess she never makes mistakes and owns up to them. Very unprofessional behavior. We do a lot of real estate business and will never use this firm on either the buy or sell side.

Our firm consulted providence Law and had a very bad experience. Lets start with basics. The law firm required basic information, what is your firms name, what is the owners name, what is the address etc. and why are you requiring our services. We provided. 2nd step, make payment. Done. 3rd step is for Providence Law to execute. Well guess what, nope. Providence Law repeats step 1. and sends you an invoice for step 2. Well, here comes time for step 3... Nope not again, another one of their representative will call you and repeat step 1 and step 2 and send you an invoice for it. In step 1 and 2 you end up paying $6k in fees. Yes, they did file something, finally they did something, a filing of about 2k’s worth. And then they send you a termination letter when you don’t want to repeat step 1 and 2 any longer. When you try to call and call for an explanation they DON’T ANSWER but send you a legal letter stating representation is terminated. LOL, WOW... I am trying to warn anyone out there.. Well Guess what providence Law. I am not asking for any additional legal services, I’ve been calling you NOT for additional services, NO sir, all I’ve been calling, calling for our original documentation but you guys don’t respond. I will now publicly ask for our original documents filed. Which NEVER previously provided, NO, NO, NO.. Do not say you have originally provided the document. That will be a lie.. after many calls you finally after me proving you never originally gave us documentation, you sent original filings. But there has been lot more documents missing. If you called me Mr. Craig Morgan I could have explained, but you never returned our calls, not even to explain why termination. And I’ve been calling and calling to ask for original documentation but no response. Legal letter you sent saying copies of our documentation will be sent for additional cost. $8k later... WOW...people this is called a legal robbery. Be careful everyone. Don’t Call Providence Law. Do Not seek their consultation. You won’t get anything but a bill for What is You Name.

I hired the firm in December 2023, I was really excited at first but as the months went by I started to feel as if they were incompetent to handle my auto accident case. I would be told one thing and then 1-2 days later I would be told something else. Noone seems to be on the same page. I was given a date that the case would be settled only for that day to come and be told something completely different. It was always "we're waiting on this paperwork, once it was received it was well we have to wait for this paperwork " very unprofessional and indecisive. Going on 5 months and I'm still waiting for case to settle. I was told it would possibly be another week to 2 months. At this point just drop me and my claim. For a fee of 33⅓%, I had higher expectations! truly disappointed 😞 and stressed at this point. I feel like I did more work than they did.

I have had to deal with attorneys before but they are pretty much cut from the same cloth....except for Atty Joe. From the moment that I met him, he was easy going and sincere. He wasn't pompous or try to talk down to me. He patiently listened to my concerns and helped me to think through some tough decisions... He didn't mind sharing personal experiences that helped me to feel better about my choice to file BK. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good BK attorney. You won't go wrong.

Mr. Bochiccio was not forthcoming about my Chapter 13 bankruptcy case. Assured me that ALL my property would be protected. Image my surprise when my car was repossessed late one evening. When asked if I could reclaim my vehicle, Mr. Bochicchio toldd me it was not possible. Finally, I sought a second opinion. I was surprised to learn that my car could have been returned.

top notch lawyer...he is the "antithesis" of what i originally thought of lawyers. Joe is a down-to-earth guy and made me feel comfortable through out my case. He clearly explained how it (my case) would be handled and what I should expect. I was very satisfied with his experience in this particular field and how he took care of my business. I hope i stay on this guys good side. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mr. Bochicchio!

What a Business Lawyer Can Do for You

A business lawyer provides critical legal guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses. Whether you are forming a new company, drafting contracts, or navigating complex regulations, a business attorney ensures you are legally protected and operating within the law. They can also help prevent legal disputes or represent you in negotiations, transactions, or lawsuits that arise during the course of business operations.

Business lawyers have expertise in areas such as business formation, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. They ensure that your business is compliant with relevant laws and help mitigate risks that could threaten your company's success.

When Should I Hire a Business Lawyer?

Hiring a business lawyer is essential at various stages of business development, including:

  • Forming a business: When deciding on the best structure for your company (LLC, corporation, partnership, etc.), a lawyer can guide you through the registration and compliance process.
  • Drafting contracts: If you need contracts for employees, partners, suppliers, or clients, a lawyer ensures these documents are legally sound and in your best interest.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or dissolutions: If you are buying, selling, or dissolving a company, legal counsel is critical to avoid costly mistakes.
  • Compliance and regulatory issues: A lawyer can help navigate complex regulations, particularly in industries like healthcare, finance, or tech.
  • Resolving disputes: Whether it's contract disagreements, intellectual property infringement, or employment issues, a business lawyer helps mediate, negotiate, or litigate on your behalf.

What Does a Business Lawyer Do?

Business lawyers provide a wide range of services that cater to different legal needs of a business. They can:

  • Help you choose the best legal structure for your business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with employees, suppliers, customers, or business partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Advise on tax strategies to minimize your business's tax burden.
  • Assist with intellectual property protection, such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Handle mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, ensuring all legal paperwork is in order.
  • Resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation.

How Are Business Lawyers Paid?

Business lawyers typically charge either by the hour or on a flat-fee basis, depending on the complexity of the work. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rates: The lawyer charges based on the time spent working on your case. Rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fees: For certain tasks, such as incorporating a business or drafting a standard contract, a lawyer may offer a flat fee.
  • Retainer: Some businesses may hire a lawyer on retainer, paying a fixed amount each month to have ongoing access to legal services.

The payment structure is often discussed during an initial consultation so you can choose the one that best suits your business needs and budget.

How Much Does a Business Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a business lawyer depends on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the legal issue: More complex matters, like mergers or intellectual property disputes, typically cost more than routine tasks like contract drafting.
  • The lawyer's experience and location: More experienced lawyers or those in larger cities often charge higher fees.
  • The nature of the billing arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $150 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer's expertise. Flat fees are usually available for simpler matters like forming an LLC or drafting a standard contract.

It's essential to discuss fee structures upfront to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Business Lawyer

Before hiring a business lawyer, ask the following questions during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with businesses like mine?
Find out if the lawyer has handled legal issues for companies in your industry.
  2. What services do you offer?
Ensure the lawyer can meet all your business's legal needs, from contract drafting to dispute resolution.
  3. What are your fees, and how do you bill?
Get clarity on how you'll be charged - whether by the hour, flat fee, or retainer.
  4. How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Ask how the lawyer ensures there is no conflict in representing your business.
  5. Can you provide references from other business clients?
Speaking with past clients will give you an idea of the lawyer's expertise and professionalism.
  6. Do you have experience in my specific industry?
Industry-specific knowledge can be crucial, especially in highly regulated fields like healthcare or finance.

How to Check the Credibility of a Business Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable business lawyer:

  • Check state bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is in good standing and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for client reviews or testimonials: Online reviews, testimonials, or word of mouth from other business owners can provide insight into the lawyer's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should have satisfied clients who can vouch for their services.
  • Check professional memberships: Membership in respected legal organizations (such as the American Bar Association or a local business lawyer association) can signal credibility.
  • Review their website and professional profile: A well-established lawyer typically has a professional website showcasing their areas of expertise, credentials, and case success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a business lawyer, prepare the following:

  • A description of your business and its structure: This will help the lawyer understand your legal needs.
  • Any current contracts or agreements: If you're seeking contract advice, bring copies of existing contracts.
  • A list of legal issues or concerns: Be ready to discuss any potential legal challenges, such as regulatory compliance, disputes, or transactions.
  • Financial documents: If applicable, bring financial records related to the legal matter you're seeking help with.
  • Questions about fees and billing: Ensure you understand the lawyer’s payment structure and fees upfront.

By preparing these materials, you can ensure that your first meeting with a business lawyer is productive and informative.
