I have had two DCPS disputes and I have worked with Mr. Atwell on both, he has assisted me in understanding and breaking down the problems that had occurred. In both cases Mr. Atwell has allowed me to express my concerns and has advocated for my son all the way. I am able to call/ text him when something has happened and he always answers. Andrea M. Ewart, Esq. deserves the highest rating on a scale. We were in very desperate situation when our container with household belongings had been detained by US customs and our previous verbal communications with no less than three (customs, freight forwarders & inspection facility) separate groups worsened the situation. It was a real change when Andrea took our case. Andrea is extremely wise and brilliant. She managed nothing short of a miracle with our container. Our estimation of charges without her are conservative at four times the bill we ended with. It’s a frightful experience with little sleep when everything you own is in limbo (almost 40 days) and getting no answers. As Permanent Residents for over five years, my sister and I finally decided that it was time to for us apply for U.S. Citizenship by submitting Naturalization applications (N-400) to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). We filed an I130 for my mother and we received a request for additional evident from USCIS. So, we decided to contact Mr. Taylor by hiring him as our layer. In the past couple of years, I have had occasion to use Ms. Steinbach for a number of legal matters, most recently, to file a lawsuit against a builder for faulty construction and the resulting damages. She's very good at what she does -- knowledgeable about the law, driven, and very results-oriented. In addition to her knowledge and expertise, what most impresses me about Shirley is her professional demeanor and temperament. Lawyers who are all "fire and brimstone I-was-born-a-pitbull-and-will-fight-for-you (for an appropriate fee!)" are, in my experience, a dime-a-dozen (especially in DC), and often do more harm than good (polarizing/entrenching opposing sides, etc). Shirley takes the opposite approach. She's extremely level-headed and calm, even in highly contentious situations. In the litigation mentioned above, at the mediation phase, Shirley persuaded the builder to pay for over 90% of the costs of all the necessary repairs -- a far better outcome than I went into the proceedings expecting; there's no way we would have gotten to a positive outcome like this with a more contentious approach to the litigation strategy. Highly recommended.

Rachel has been a friend for years but I haven't engaged her until recently for legal. As our newer company was growing we started to run into issues with some of our representatives and non-compete agreements which shouldn't have been an issue in the first place (in my opinion, of course). About one year ago I discovered to my horror that our domain portfolio had been raided, and 32 very valuable names were taken and transferred away to an overseas registrar. I contacted our company lawyer who immediately tried to contact the parties involved and get the names transferred back to us. I contacted law enforcement and there was nothing they could do. Our lawyer was suggesting ways to get the names back that involved a lot of time and money. Our lawyer wanted us to appeal to ICANN which could take months or even years. I did a lot of research and realized that the people who stole the domains were trying to sell them to unsuspecting clients. Luckily some of the names were returned without incident but 14 remained overseas. These domains were worth thousands and were a key part to our business. I did some more research and found David Weslow. My first call to David was great for me because he immediately told me we could get these names back, and he would gladly help us do that. David's credentials when it comes to domains and intellectual property are outstanding. He laid out the steps involved and asked me to send him all the information on our case and he would do the rest. David filed the necessary paperwork with the courts and we went through the whole process. Less than one year later we received all the names back to our account. David had gotten those names back because of his superior knowledge of the laws regarding domain ownership. If you ever need someone to help you in a situation like this call this lawyer. I really thought that we would never get the names back and lose a huge investment. I can honestly say that if I had not called David we would not have these domains in our possession today. I wish I could be more specific about the case but I can assure you that David helped us when everyone else said it couldn't be done. He did an amazing job and I highly recommend him for anything related to domain disputes.

I hired Byron for my 2017 divorce case and I am happy with his service. One of the main things that I look for in an attorney is responsiveness when I have questions, need feedback or assurance - and Byron replied to my text messages and emails usually within a day or two - and his responses were detailed and thorough. The next main thing I need in an attorney is reasonable fees, and this was also something that I received. Invoices make sense and are reasonable in terms of the explanations and break-down of what fees are actually for. I have had other attorneys in the past where this was not the case, so I have a perspective on this topic, and know what is, and what is not reasonable. The outcome in my divorce case was such that I can say I got most of the things that were important to me, so I was happy with the results that Byron provided for me. I also had a good prior understanding on what to expect based on the conversations that I had with Byron, there were no surprises or anything like that. At the same time Byron was realistic and did not overpromise anything, so I always felt I knew what I was in for. I also liked the payment methods that were in place for me to pay invoices. All in all I had a very positive experience with Byron!

I have known Jack Wuerker since 1998 when we met at his practice, Wuerker & Triarhos, to work on a plan to distribute stock in our small corporation to key employees. This effort resulted in an equitable and satisfactory distribution of stock, a shareholders agreement and a shareholders management agreement. Although this process took several months to work through, we were quite pleased with the results and I decided to refer all of our legal work to Jack.

Jack Wuerker understands the big picture. It is not enough to understand you. He makes it his business to understand the opposing counsel and the counsel's client. Jack assidously does his homework. He is prepared whether it is a client meeting, a deposition, a trial or any form of client support. I have never seen Jack surprised by the argument of an opposing counsel. He always comes prepared.
