My case isn't resolved yet, but I feel I can rate Mr. Steve Jessup based on his performance as my attorney thus far. He is an intelligent, competent attorney in the area of disability and benefits laws. I like that he's honest and aggressive in managing my case. When Mr Jessup got involved in my case against Lincoln, things turned around dramatically! The former attorney had accomplished nothing in well over a year. Sharif is excellent! He is strong in his legal knowledge, knows the court system, great negotiator, and went out of his way to help me in my case. I will begin by saying that in a time of need of a lawyer Sharif came highly recommended through a friend of mine who is also a lawyer, they had been in law school together and he said Sharif was by far the most brilliant and kind of all his peers,which speaks volumes. I contacted him and he was easy to talk to and approachable. He went above and beyond and even went out of his way to meet me at the time and place of my convenience. I felt at ease immediately and he was empathetic to my situation and needs . I had to leave the country during the process but he still was handling things for me and easy to contact and replied promptly. He is truly a great lawyer but if you’re the Client he is not a shark with you he is your Allie and you never feel cheated or lied to, how often can you say that about a lawyer! He also was fair in pricing/fee , again a simply good man and great lawyer ! It took me 15 years to finally achieve my freedom (divorce that never was finished) true godsend for me. What seemed all these years difficult and complicated due to circumstances he made uncomplicated. I’d hire him again if I need a lawyer and I definitely recommend him to everyone!

Yasir has an uncanny ability to spot the most crucial advantages in a case. But that's just the beginning. As the litigation goes on, I have seen him go from strength to strength, gaining one advantage after another. There is nobody I would rather want on my side in a deposition. I had only heard about his strength in a deposition until he represented my business in a case...and I can tell you, you do not want to be on the opposite side of Yasir in a depo. I haven't seen him in action in a court room on my behalf (and even though I hope it never ever comes to that, I would trust his expertise in it as well), but when it comes to litigation, there is nobody I know who can deliver what Yasir delivers.

Mr. Bergman handled my divorce and I feel he was G-d sent. Not only did he make my ex-husband's attorney look like an novice (which he is not) in every hearing but he truly placed my child's best interest in mind the whole time. This man is the true definition of "old school" law, where people respect each other, treat other with kindness and place ethics above all.
He is a bulldog none or less, someone you want to have by your side in any litigation or mediation process and but he is always thinking 10 moves ahead.

I almost skipped hiring an attorney when I bought my foreclosure home in Broward. I have bought and sold over 20 properties in 3 countries and 3 states, often without a lawyer, sometimes even writing my own contracts. But that wasn't Florida! Luckily, I decided to pay Attorney Feinberg's very reasonable fee. He hung in patiently through a short sale that blew up, a string of accepted offers that went nowhere, and finally a foreclosure that dragged on for 4 months. I was consistently surprised by how quickly he answered my questions - and he was clear about the tradeoffs as they unfolded. In the final days of my purchase, the title company (which I will mercifully not name) made a string of silly errors. Feinberg's associate Lissette Yanes caught them all and firmly got them solved. There was an unjustified $350 fee that the title co tried to sneak past us; when I questioned it, the title co. threatened to tell the Seller that I had defaulted. Feinberg jumped in immediately and swung a legal bat just hard enough; the title co. backed down. Without F & M, I couldn't have faced down the title co or even been sure of the contract obligations or the validity of the fee. No matter what your experience as a real estate investor, don't try to buy in the treacherous, take no prisoners Florida market without a good attorney. Feinberg (& Yanes) insisted on revisions to the title insurance -- I had no idea that title companies do their utmost to weaken the policies they give a homeowner -- I would never have thought of. Bottom line - although I never met them face to face, I wouldn't go near a real estate transaction in Florida without Feinberg & Maidenbaum. I know the difference between a law firm that just pushes paper and one that is determined to let nothing slide and hurt their client. F&M is definitely the latter. Mindy Chmielarz is the best disability lawyer out there. When you Google Disability Claims or Unum lawyers, what comes up is an avalanche of lawyers firms consultants paid bloggers and just about everything you don't want to read especially when the insurance carrier they are all warning you about is administrating your short term disability and long term disability plan.
I don't know how I stumbled upon her international law firm, DI Law Group but I am sure glad I did. Unlike all the other attorneys who basically painted Unum to be the enemy who will deny your claim at any cost, repeatedly harass your doctors for the same information not to mention leave you penniless, Mindy did no such thing.
In fact there were a lot of things that Mindy did very differently that NO other lawyer did. Atleast not without asking for payment first. As I briefed her about my own policy which was about to change definitions from own occupation to any occupation she listened. She even took the time to review all my documents and letters and even answered my questions for free.
To say I was shocked is an understatement. But one thing about her stood out. She never once mentioned one negative thing about Unum. She wasn't trying to scare me into retaining her. By no means was she an alarmist. I wish there were more honest lawyers like her out there. Maybe then the term honest lawyer wouldn't be the oxymoron it is today.
I remember her saying well in my twenty plus years, I have handled thousands of claims and I have never seen Unum do...that, that or even that. But if they did, they would have a major lawsuit on their hands, in the papers and on the evening news to worry about.
So that got me googling again only to learn that she has went head to head with the best of them even on the Today Show advocating for her clients. But aside from advocating, she also had a proven success record winning them favorable approvals and decisions. And like her Hartford disability Insurance client that she represented on the Today Show and because of her unwaning persistence in helping me obtain all my medical, vocational reports and documentation from the Social Security Administration, I, too, received word from Unum that I was approved for continuing benefits under Erisa governed any occupation review.
While there isn't anything I would like more but to get back to the old me flare-free and pain-free me, I thank my lucky stars that I was able to find Mindy Chmielarz because if not for zealous representation, I would have lost the only thing I had left, the roof over my head.
Now I have one less thing to worry about until the next review but fortunately Mindy is not the kind of lawyer that is out for my kitchen sink and worked with me so that I would be able to afford her fees as she continues to manage my claim.
Thank you Mindy for painting me a picture of Unum that was drastically different. For when all was said and done and faxed, you accomplished everything you sought out to do. You definitely do care. Thank you for always treating me with respect. Most of all, thank you for not taking advantage of my vulnerability and disability. Yet most of all, for helping me stay alive even as my disability continues to debilitate more and more with each passing day.
